An Imperial Affliction || OPEN PARA
Piper stared at the sky. The stars were shining strangely bright, as she stood in a random clearing of the woods. Any normal person would be taring their head in every direction, to be sure they weren’t to be mauled by a bear at such an hour, but she had no regard for death anymore. She’s excepted, long ago, that it was to come at some point, and that if the process is sped up, it’s only by God’s doing. (This God she questioned herself, but what other hope would she have in such a condition?) “Who are you to say that your truth is better then ours..” She sang the words to her favorite Mumford and Sons song, that played quietly from her phone in her back pocket. Things were looking (and feeling) grim, but she was too transfixed by the natural world to go home.
