Opinions on Throne of Glass thus far

Blazing through the Throne of Glass book series, I'm having trouble reading the Assassin's blade. I just don't care about Caelaena that much.

Doing the Romantics way of reading it. So this is technically book 4

Crown of Midnight may be my favorite. Heir of Fire is a second favortie making me cry a little bit. Overall series so far... I would give it a 3.

I'm currently on the Assassin Blade and it's my least favorite by far.

I am not convinced by the main character. I dislike how unreal she seems. Sarah J Maas's descriptions are wonderful but I can't help but think she does little to build characters. I think Dorian has had the most change so far and I still can't even care about the characters as deeply as I would like to.

Her world and story is beautiful though. I just care a lot about getting close with the characters.

If I weren't in a book club I don't think I would pick up this series.
