STOPPING FOR A SMOKE ( obasi and noctis are butch4butch lesbians !! )

Night lulled over the city like a gentle wave. The colors of neon signs and holograms basked over plant-covered monoliths of concrete. The sounds of vivacious city life rippled through the air. Noctis and Obasi were out on a walk together, Noctis insisted that she tagged along when Obasi settled a deal later that night. Their trek had brought them along the beach to the outskirts of Cydon’s Inlet, which was farther from the populated beaches, and the nightlife of Haderia City was no more than a whisper behind them. As Noctis lit a cigarette and offered a light to Obasi, she hummed. “You think Sunila’s gonna dip out of this one?” “She can’t if she needs my folks to secure the shipment,” Obasi took a drag from her cigar and breathed miasma from her nose. “Cause’ hers are all over the place.” “By the Divine, what are they hollerin’ over now?” Noctis chuffed. “Something to do with who stole what from who.” Obasi grumbled under her breath and gnawed at the end of her cigar. “Might have to step in on that, make sure they don’t tear each other apart.” Noctis crossed her arms and looked out to the ocean, “Sunila mentioned something about infighting when we went out for drinks. Guess that’s what it was… She don’t keep a tight leash on her animans like you do.” “I don’t keep anyone on a leash!” Obasi quickly retorted. “Not literally.” Noctis snickered and nudged Obasi in the shoulder. Obasi rolled her eyes and shifted closer to Noctis. They would remain here for a few more moments, taking in the sights of the dark and vast ocean ahead. The business of the night would call for them eventually.

had a lot of fun working on this piece! i really wanted to push the cinematic aspect of my style here, as if this was a screenshot from a film. i’ve been working on not only exemplifying my workflow when it comes to rendering but nailing a film-like look in my art.

of course, this was also a bit of a character study on my butches, obasi and noctis ;p

Gallimimus bullatus

A large theropod dinosaur that lived during the Cretaceous. One of the best known ornithomimids while also being the largest that we know of approaching lengths of 20ft (6m) & 800-1000lbs (400-500 kg). Gallimimus would've been quite cursorial reaching estimated speeds of ~32mph (50km/h).

While it resembled an ostrich, it may have acted like one too. Its vision and intelligence may have been comparable to extant ratites. A bone bed of several individuals may suggest they lived in groups

Oviraptor philoceratops

A late cretaceous dinosaur with a history of being portrayed as an egg thief instead of a good parent. A relatively small theropod with a crest and an interesting beak shape. Recent studies suggest a frugivore diet with a helping of small critters on the side. Like many coelurosaurs, they would've had a feathery coat.

These dinosaurs constructed mounds to incubate their eggs in a way not found in the modern day. A Citipati fossil preserves a parent(?) on top of the clutch showcasing their protective nature.

Many birds protect their clutches fiercely, so it would make sense if this behavior was found in non-avian theropods as well.

Zygophyseter varolai

A species of macroraptorial sperm whale that roamed the Miocene oceans. It had large teeth, powerful jaw muscles, and a beak that allowed it to snap on faster prey more efficiently much like today's Dolphins.

Like other sperm whales, it had an asymmetrical blowhole with one opening and a spermaceti organ housed in the supercranial basin alongside the melon giving it the ability to echolocate.

Though being one of many top-level predators in the Miocene seas, it likely fell prey to Otodus megalodon.

From sketch to completion on the 'cryptosuchus' for Subnautica: Below Zero. The name means 'hidden crocodile', based on the brief which was that it lived hidden in the deep craggy reefs. I explored otter-like and more fish style locomotion… I even deleted a pair of legs at one stage!

Opening 100$ illustrations again because even though mine and some of my siblings' christmas gifts were used to pay some of the bills, we still need more money to pay for the rest of the monthly payables

... as well as so I can have a christmas gift of my own after mine was spent to make sure we still have a roof under our heads
