“There are a few that aren’t my favorites.. I am more of a Disney princess girl though, so Tangled or Mulan-- I’ll let you make the final call though.” She chuckled.
“Okay, so I brought fluffy blankets, chocolate, and Disney movies. If this is not the perfect combination for a great movie night, I don’t know what is.”
“Depends on what Disney movies you brought.. If they’re good ones, then I will agree-- if not, I may have to rethink the plan.”

“I mean I know it can be a bit boring, but reading some of these I genuinely believe that some of them have slept their way through my classes.”
“I slept my way through plenty of classes, but my papers were always fairly decent.. Do you try to incorporate fun into the classroom atmosphere as a means of learning?”

“The empty feeling is one I know all too well-- this got sad fast.” Hayden chuckled lightly. “I’m from the states, so when I return there, it just doesn’t feel like it used to.. I understand. It’s hard.”

“I think this one’s on you,” he chuckled, hesitantly dropping his hands, though their bodies remained close. “I owe you one. Let me buy you a drink?”
“Oh, please.. I definitely didn’t pull that off on my own.” She smirked, her hands weaved together hanging in front of her torso. “Oh, drinks are the way to my heart, but aren’t you concerned about what she might think?” Hayden tilted her head in the direction of the other girl.

“There’s no need to lie about anything–we’re all friends here, right?” He shrugged. “So it’s a pretty good place? Now I know where to come when I need somewhere to relax. Booze is always an amazing bonus.”
“I like it, yeah... I don’t know. I just like the friendly drunk faces-- and it is a lot of the same crowd most of the time, so you get to know people. Oh for sure-- it’s the best.”
“Some of these essays are actually making me question my ability to teach. Please take them away before I do something I’ll regret.”
“That bad, huh?”

“My phone…” Jess attempted to recall, his eyes lighting up as he finally remembered. Placing a hand over his pocket, he chuckled, nodding his head. “It’s right there, where it belongs.” He nods. “So, what brings you here? I don’t think I’ve seen a girl around here as pretty as you in a while.”
“Wow, the compliment.. I figured that would come later in the conversation, but you already threw it out there.” She chuckled, resting her head on her hand as her elbow pressed against the bar top. “Well, this is one of my favorite places; mostly because it isn’t filled with people trying to pretend to be something they aren’t. We all come here for the same reason, and I like to hear other people’s stories-- and the booze is pretty great too.”

Mason was surprised to feel the blonde close the distance between them, but he welcomed it, lightly resting his hand on the small of her back as they kissed. The smirk he flashed her was triumphant. “Is she still watching?” he mumbled quietly, boldly bringing his hand to her hair and running his fingers through her blonde ends.
Hayden let her eyes roam to the girl again without being too obvious. “Yep, she sure is.” She inhaled with a chuckle. “If I had to guess, I would say she’s not completely over you either.” She let a smug smile tug on her lips. “Looks like we did pretty good, huh?”

“Yeah?” his eyebrows raised for a moment. “Got any ideas? I’m all ears.” She had his full attention now.
Hayden looked over to the girl once more before pulling the boy’s face to hers. As the redhead’s view snapped back to the brunette, she pulled away, knowing she had fulfilled what she needed to do. As she glanced over to the girl, she let out a large exhale. “You’re welcome.” She whispered softly as the other girl kept her view on the boy Hayden was with.

“Kind of, yeah.” Mason was so focused on trying to get the girl across the bar to notice him, he barely acknowledged the blonde in front of him… until his head turned and caught eyes with her. After that he forgot all about the redhead. “She’s an ex-girlfriend,” he added quickly, running his fingers through his hair. “I was trying to impress her. It’s stupid, I know.”
“Not stupid.. I would be doing the exact same thing. If it’s worth anything, I am sure I could think of something to make her look.” She chuckled lightly, a sigh escaping her pale pink lips. “Seeing an ex is never easy-- no matter how it ended.” She recalled her last boyfriend who she dumped, but seeing him, seeing him was still hard sometimes. Letting her gaze slip to the redhead for a moment, she returned to look at the boy.

“ New to town, but I grew up here. The month’s been a bitch, not gonna lie about that. When does home stop feeling like a home? I want to know. “
“When a new place takes the home name... and then you try to return to the old one, and it just feels strange.. like it’s not home anymore... It’s almost sad.”
“Sorry, I just got back from the office. Y’know… paperwork, lots of meetings, Power Point presentations. — Is she still looking?” Mason dropped his voice low, darting his eyes over to the corner, where the woman he was not talking to (but talking for) had been standing.
Hayden looked to the side nonchalantly with a smug look on her face as Mason mentioned the female. “Hm.. no, she’s not looking. Should she be?” Hayden leaned against the wall, her eyes slowly moving back to the brunette’s in front of her.
Jess finished off his second drink of the night, setting the now empty glass on the bar. Turning around, his eyes skimmed the perimeter. What he saw was nothing out of the ordinary. Some friends having a drink together, a few couples on a date, and then a few people alone drinking, or grabbing a bite to eat, for this place was notorious for having great food. Out of the corner of his eye, the male noticed someone familiar–making him turn that way, smirking. “Well, hey there. Come to join the party?”
Hayden could have used a night out, and she pondered on it for awhile before making the decision to actually follow through with it. She stepped into the bar, peering around to see if she noticed any familiar faces. All she saw were backs of heads, which really wasn’t all that helpful. Walking to the bar, she ordered a martini before hearing a familiar voice. “No, i just came to make sure you hadn’t lost your phone again.” She chuckled, waiting for her drink.

Almost immediately Adriana was intrigued as she heard what the other girl had to say. It was even more exciting to know this was someone who lived right in her very own hometown. “I’d love to check what you have out,” she agreed in an attempt to play cool since Hayden seemed to be fairly casual about things herself.
“Well, that sounds great.” Hayden flipped through the items in her bag before pulling out a business card with all of the information the girl would need on it. “Here’s my card. If you want to give me your contact info, I would be more than happy to contact you when I need you.” Hayden nodded with a small smile on her face.

“Been here for a bit, so I suppose it’s treating me just fine-- I haven’t had too much trouble around here though. You new to town or just struggling with a bitch of a month?”
“— since i have absolutely no idea what a large half-caf, sugar-free, non-fat, vanilla soy, double shot, no foam, extra hot mocha latte is, i’m going to have to ask you to shorten your order, by about twenty syllables.”
“Well, I guess I will take a peppermint tea then-- if you know how to make that.” Hayden chuckled lightly.
