I’ve attempted doing the #5daypouchchallenge that I came across on instagram from some followers that have had the vertical sleeve procedure done.
Pre surgery I was 357 After the 2 week pre op diet I was around 346 Day of surgery I think I was 335 July of 2015 I was at my lowest weight at around 248
Now, after working in the bakery and in an unhealthy enviornment, the stress of moving and emotional eating from my family giving me a hard time, I got up to 280 a week after arriving in NJ.
In March, I was 290 and I said to myself I can’t keep gaining.
Before the 5 day challenge I was 288.8
Tonight, I’m 284.4
The first day of the pouch challenge really WAS a challenge since I didn’t have all the proper food tools I should of had (I made this choice pretty impulsively) as well as dealing with my “time of the month” (day 1 is always the worst), and it being my day off and being home alone…. I didn’t excell as well as I should of. I woke up and had a protein shake…. then some water….sugar free pudding….water….protein shake…. and then, I broke, and had a turkey burger on a bun with lettuce and tomato etc. After that, I decided I’m going to fall back into my pre op diet and eat 1 high protein meal a day and do liquids for the rest of the day.
I’m finishing my 4th day so far pretty strong. I’ve been using myfitnesspal every day, I’ve been trying to use the treadmill here for about 30 minutes a day, and with that and walking to work (now that the weather is getting semi better), I’m seeing a difference. I had a small dunkin donuts slip up tonight (California, this is one thing you should of been investing in), but tomorrow is a new day! I’m getting back to drinking shakes and spacing meals out and not snacking and it feels better. I didn’t get bloated this month, my period finished quicker with help from the water I’m sure, and I’ve felt motivated.
I’m planning on doing the 1 meal a day for another week, this morning scared me though I think I need more fluids in the morning… or at least when I work my 5am-10am shift :s
