I went to bed exhausted, and woke up feeling like something wasn't right, messages flooded my inboxes on IG, FB and text, all from friends asking if I was okay, as I started to panic, i started to tear up, and my heart sank, I didn't know why everyone was asking... I opened up Facebook and the first thing I saw was that Carrie Fisher passed this morning. I immediately started bawling my eyes out. But the fact that my community was so worried about ME, was so heart warming, because even though i didn't know her personally, they all knew what this woman meant to me. She was so strong, right up to the very end. She was an advocate for change, she spoke out about her mental health and God, did she have a mouth on her. She is everything I aspire to be every day. Fighting the fight every day, until my days run out. I want to make her proud. She changed my life from the first time I saw "A New Hope" and I knew, that was the kind of princess I wanted to be. I wanted to make a difference and be strong for my people. She was such a beautiful soul inside and out, and I feel the entire galaxy felt the disturbance of her passing this morning. My feed on every social media account is flooded with beautiful words, photos and memories of her, and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of a fandom than I am right now.
