Where was she going now? Of that Morgan Colt could be sure, she was going home. She was leaving New York officially, she was going home back to Atlanta. She missed her home too much, being a slayer was what she'd been called to do but New York and fighting monsters there. It wasn't what she was supposed to do. So Morgan was returning home, back to Atlanta and her family and her old room and home. Perhaps this slayer thing wasn't what she was meant to do either, But she'd work that out later, she'd work that out when she felt that she could.
The other slayers, the ones that could better hack it here would continue the fight and they would win. Morgan was sure of the fact that they would inevitably win because if there was one thing she was absolutely completely sure of, it was the girls. The girls who were her family, her other family. Family because that was what they were, a little group of girls who had been brought together to fight against almost impossible odds. That would win because good always triumphed over evil, the world continued in patterns and that was one of them. It would continue to exist until everything ended.
They would win because evil would only prosper if good people did not stand in it's way and here they all were, slayers united against them - standing shoulder to shoulder even in the darkest hours. Nothing would stop them, no armies, no troubles and not even death. They would continue to fight. Morgan would continue the fight on her own, watching the streets of Atlanta and protecting her family that lived there. She was not ready for New York, not yet at least. Perhaps one day she would return, but for now she needed to return home. Home where she belonged.
Her final goodbyes and thank yous had been said, the brunette had gathered every single one of the girls in a final hug. Her room had been packed and cleared out, the contents shifted down to her car where she soon would make the drive back home. She had left a note for Quinn in her room too, she hadn't signed her name but had left it simply stating "You aren't as alone as you think Xena. Call me sometime." and with bracelet that she'd made - functional and pretty that she'd thought suited Quinn. She didn't know if she would call, Morgan could only hope.
Now, despite her reservations and sadness at leaving everything behind, it was time to go. Her time had come and she had to go, Morgan wasn't sad - well maybe a little. But she was going back home and that was important. After her final goodbyes to the girls were said, Morgan could only smile a little sadly as she handed in her keys and then went outside to find Gerald leaning on her car. "Kid." he nodded to her as she smiled in return, he straightened up and looked at her. Almost as if he wanted to say something important to her, but he just settled for "Keep yourself out of trouble sunshine," Morgan stopped him as he began to head back towards the building and wrapped her arms around his waist in a quick hug. She let go a few seconds later and smiled sadly up at him, a few tears beginning to blossom in her eyes.
Gerald looked down at her and ruffled her hair, understanding what she was trying to say and ruffled her hair "You're a good kid y'know Morgan." then he was gone. Morgan understood, he had her cell number - like with Quinn, she could only hope that he would call sometime. She watched with her dark eyes as Gerald vanished back into the building, only then did she turn back to her car and opened the door. As she got inside, Morgan stared at the Slayer Building for one last time. It wasn't goodbye, not really as long as she held them in her heart then she'd be fine - she wouldn't be alone as she had them in her heart. That way she would never leave them ever nor would they. She kept the thought in her mind as she drove off and as the city began to vanish in a blur of concrete dreams behind her.
But she was okay though, even if she was a little sad. Because Morgan Colt was going home.
Hey! Don't be grumpy, you're a puppy. Puppies are playful not grumpy. How are you going to take care of yourself though...you're a puppy. They aren't exactly self sufficient.
The sounds of Morgan going through the different ringtones to assign one just for her had Quinn rolling her eyes, but she held off on snapping at the surprisingly older teen. Her anger was best saved for the tall dark and thirsties, even if this chick was jumping all over her last nerve. Quinn had one ringtone for everyone, because no one she knew called anymore unless it was serious shit. Texting was just better if you didnāt want to tell everyone on the street the latest sob story of your life.
"Those are good. Follow them, and we may get there in one piece." Quinn led them through the tunnel to where theyād catch their ride, and she looked around as she did. Art displays (nice pictures, but the grafitti on them meant more than the picturesā subjects) and an ad for the latest bank trying to do positive PR after the clusterfuck that had been a couple years ago. It wasnāt working, but they tried. Which was a bit insulting, actually, so Quinn jumped off that line of thought and focused on actually getting through the night.
The girl with her was two years older, but she was more open. Less cynical. Less jaded. When Quinn barked, Morgan at least tried to jump, and it came to Quinn that if Morgan was actually gonna survive, Quinn might need to be a little less pissy and a little more of an actual teacher. āCouple of things I almost guarantee you werenāt told. A) bring food or some way to get food. Seriously, you will get hungry after a bit. B) Bring something light to do. Even a game on your phone would cut it, if your phone has the battery to spare. Lotta times, the night is walking and waiting.ā
Get there in one piece? Well Morgan wasn't entirely too sure that she liked the sound of that, she much preferred the sound of surviving the night in one piece. Not just getting to their destination in one piece! Jeez Louise! "Oh-kay!" Morgan managed with a smile as she continued to follow Quinn into the tunnel. The subway was somewhat different than Morgan had been expecting, well you could blame her fears on creepy tunnel horror movie junk. She'd mostly used the bus to get around back home, though they had rail it wasn't exactly as underground as the subway was.
Oh? Quinn was giving her instructions now? Well she was trying and Morgan had to at least give her credit for that. So she smiled softly at the fellow slayer and nodded "Got it," She had one charged phone with Angry Birds on it and her purse with her, so she could at least grab some food today. "Walking and waiting? Somebody once told me that being a slayer was more...intense than that on your patrols. Well, energy recharge would be a good thing!" No Morgan definitely did not fancy relentless monster slaying without a single break! No!
Despite the enhanced speed and stamina thing that being a slayer brought, Morgan knew that she'd still get tired and exhausted from the fighting and the battling of the various monsters that had decided to plague humanity and well New York specifically recently. "Does anybody know why all the monsters are targeting New York all of a sudden? I got told that the infestation's higher here for some reason," Well much higher than in Atlanta which was where she'd received initial training from Gerald since her parents had been unwilling to let her leave until graduation. Significantly and noticeably higher.

I...I won't. It's tough though. I am homesick, I'll admit that. But I don't get why people want to stop people doing good in the world. We could save their lives and they'd be completely ungrateful.
