A Mexican-American artist has launched a project to “erase" the Mexico-United States border fence in Nogales, Sonora. The artist, Ana Teresa Fernández, with the help of a team of 30 volunteers, began painting the barrier in a light blue hue to camouflage it against the sky. “This wall has become a symbol of pain, a symbol where we lament the lives who have not been able to cross it,“

Musician Ornette Coleman, who changed the course of jazz, has died at 85
In the late 1990s, when I was still reading record reviews, I stumbled upon a write-up on a re-release of the Flying Burrito Brothers' "Gilded Palace of Sin". I can't remember what the article said but I immediately fell in love with the band name. And once I got my hands on the record, the music too, of course. So please any band: choose your name carefully!

"If you don't like the sound of the pedal-steel, there's probably something wrong with you." (J.T. Earle) It had to be said.
I love this song so much that I even named my blog after it: atmywindow.de.

More of this please.
One of my favourite albums this year came from the wonderful Maggie Björklund. It's called "Shaken" and this is the track "Missing at sea".
Merry Christmas everyone! Stay curious.
I will never be convinced that any part of this world could be improved by the addition of paved roads, CAFOs, or shopping malls.
