I've been obsessing over The Slenderverse for the past like 2 months and have been writing short one-shots. So, I thought I'd post them! He's the first one as an introduction. Enjoy! (This is a headcanon fic explaining my self-insert ocs' role in the plot of Marble Hornets.) (His name is Kestin)
His involvement in Marble Hornets seems very minimal, seeming like he's just an assistant for his boyfriend (Alex). But little do they know, he wrote the script.
Kestin met Brian and Alex in 6th grade, after moving in with his father; Brian was the first to talk to him, he even complimented his backpack. Brian basically dragged him over to meet Alex and the 3 of them just hit it off!
He's a huge dork that really tries his best to seem cool, by either doing stupid and dangerous stuff to look brave or just trying to be as funny as possible.
He's also a chronic people pleaser, like this man can not say no for shit. He's just so afraid of losing people that he just lets them walk all over him.
He later met Tim in high school, they met through Brian. He and Tim got along pretty well; despite Tim seeming a bit antisocial, he didn't really talk much. So, when they hung out Kestin did most of the talking (High school was when Kestin started coming out of his shell and being more confident) and Tim was chill with that.
Remember how I mentioned that Kestin is basically a walking doormat? Well, that does not slide with Tim around, he gets protective sometimes and is very willing to deck someone in the face if they are bothering Kestin.
Most of the group is protective of Kestin, mainly because he's the youngest of the group, and a very prime target for bullying.
Most of them think he's pretty... well, dumb. He's not very bright sometimes but he is trying his best. Although, his demeanor could very well be all an act, he pretends to be this happy-go-lucky clueless guy but most of the time he's kind of just falling apart inside.
On a less sad note, Kestin and Alex started dating over the summer before Alexs' senior year. Kestin asked Alex out and to his surprise, he said yes and now they very happily dating. Dude they were holding hands in the halls and were honest that annoying cute couple.
Then they both graduated and came to the decision they wanted to go to the same college, and Kestin was praying that they got to be roommates but sadly they didn't, he instead got bunked with Brian. Such a travesty!/j
Then the filming marble hornets starts and shit starts going downhill fast, Alex gets more and more paranoid and snippy with the cast until Brian goes missing and he gives up on the project. Alex is constantly filming and trying to get rid of the tapes, enter Jay! He takes the tapes and Alex thinks that's a simple enough solution. But then Jay starts putting his findings on YouTube... and that starts a whole new mess.
Now, Alex has to Track down Jay and attempt to cover up his crimes before it's too late. Meanwhile, his boyfriend is spiraling (not directly because of the operator I should add). So ya know how I said he's not as clueless and happy as he seems? Well, that kind of amplifies by like 10× more, he is destaught and destroyed as he realizes his world is crumbling around him.
His BEST friend of 11ish years has disappeared, his boyfriend is losing what shreds of sanity he has (despite him still treating him very well.) and attempting to murder their (ex)friends. He honestly just doesn't know what to do, so he does what he always does... he ignores it, until it slowly builds up inside of him and in the middle if the night, when he's all alone,( or so he thinks), he breaks down sobbing on the floor in front of his bed.
And who stumbles upon him in this state? Well, none other than the first person saw him break his happy-go-lucky facade all the way back in middle school? It's Hoodie(Brian). Kestin breaks and he shares how he really feels, scared, he's scared of losing his only loved one left. He knows his love blinds him but he genuinely believes he has no one but Alex left. Not after what happened with Tim, knows that Tim is mad at him, and even possibly hates him.
He thinks he just had to sit and wait it out, and just hope everything ends up fine. He can't leave Alex, nor does he want to. Kestin honestly doesn't care if he might be the next on the chopping block, in his mind; to die by his lover's hand feels very poetic.
Hoodie recorded the whole conversation.
