"Honey I'm home!" I say very loudly and then laugh at myself.
"In the bedroom watching tv!" Olivia yells out so I could hear her and find her in the house.
I walk into the room with a big smile on my face.
"I've always wanted to say that phrase." I say giggling.
I then notice Olivia on the bed and then my attention is now at the end of the bed where she laid everything out for me to find. My eyes widen substantially as I read "Only the best Husbands get promoted to Daddy." on the onesie, and I picked up the ultrasound photo. My eyes start watering and I smile so big and bright.
"Is this for real, like you're actually pregnant?" I ask Liv with a shaky voice.
"Yeah I took the tests and then made a doctor appointment and they confirmed that I'm one week pregnant. Oh also our baby is the size of a sesame seed right now." She says getting excited and stands from the bed.
"I'm gonna be a father, holy crap I'm gonna be a dad. You're pregnant and I'm gonna be a DAD!" I say excitedly.
"Yeah I know I couldn't believe it when I found out, but yeah we're going to be parents and I'm so excited. What do you want a boy or a girl?" She says and asks me.
"I don't care as long as they're healthy, we'll have a little me or you running around here in nine months." I say and she rubs her thumbs over my cheeks.
"Well I want a boy, I've always wanted a boy first because then if I have girl next she'll have an older brother to have her back." Liv says explaining why she wants a boy.
"Also because he'll look like you, he'll look up to you, and he'll be a momma's boy for sure." Olivia says growing more excited by the moment.
"Ok now I kind of want a boy too, but I'll be happy either way." I say kissing her sweetly once more.
"Oh I forgot one more thing." She says quickly.
She pulled two guitar picks from her pocket and hands them to me. I look down and read what's on the picks. I start smiling and holding them close to my heart.
"Oh my god they're so cool, I love them so much thank you Liv. You're going to be the best mother ever!" I say and place them on my bedside table.
I make my way back over to her, I take your hand and lead her into the living room. I then let go of her hand and proceed to move the furniture around making a big empty space in the middle of the room.
"Shawn what are you doing?" She asks me with confusion lacing her voice.
"I'm making a space so we can dance, I want to dance with my very beautiful pregnant wife and I needed room to do that." I say with a big smile gracing my face.
"Oh my god I married the most romantic and sweetest man ever." She mumbles under her breath.
"You have always made me the happiest man alive, but now you're making me even happier and making a family with me is the best thing I could ever ask for. Thank you Olivia Mendes I love you so much." I say to her in the most loving way.
"You make me the happiest woman on this earth, and now we're going to be a family and I couldn't be happier." Liv tells me and I just hold her as the music plays on in the background and we slow dance until the song ends.
We both stop dancing and turn off the stereo. I move the furniture back to their original places, and we both head back to our room. She cleans up all the baby announcement stuff and gets changed into her pajamas. I do the same and we both crawl in bed, get comfortable, snuggle up and turn out the lights and nod off into a peaceful sleep.

"Baby what's going on? Tell me so I can help you. Is it time? Is the baby coming?" I ask so many questions so fast and she can barely think because the contraction that hit her was painful and I could visibly see the pain in her eyes.
"Yes the baby's coming and we need to go to the hospital right now!" She says between clenched teeth trying to hold in her pain.
"Ok let me get you into the car and I'll come back and get your hospital bag and mine." I say calmly while helping her to the car and get her into the passenger seat gently trying to ease her pain as much as I can.
I run back inside and grab the hospital bag from our room and bolt outside to the car. I drive like a madman trying to make it to the hospital as soon as possible. We arrive after about a five minute drive and get Olivia taken care of and settled. I make the call to friends and family that Olivia is now in labor and we're having the baby tonight.
About and hour later the doctor says it's time to start pushing once the next contraction hits, that's what Olivia does when she feels the next contraction and boy was she so incredibly strong for doing this and bring out beautiful child into the world.
After the first few pushes she's breathing really heavily and she's sweating a lot. She rolls her head to the side and looks at me and takes my hand in hers.
"I can't do it, I can't it's to much I can't do it." She says repeatedly while slowly shaking her head in pain.
"Olivia look at me. You can do this, do it for me, do it for you, but most of all do it for our baby boy. He needs you and I know you can do this because you're the single most strongest women I've ever met. You can do this just a few more pushes and he'll be here with us you just gotta push through it for me and him ok. You got this so let's go. PUSH OLIVIA PUSH." I say to encourage her to keep pushing and with that she does.
After the next and final push we hear the sound of our baby boy crying as he entered the world. I take her hand and was given a wash cloth by a nurse and I wipe her forehead and kiss her cheek.
"You did it my love and I'm so damn proud of you. You are so damn strong and I won't ever let you forget that, and you've just given birth to the most beautiful baby boy and have made me the happiest man in the world. I love you and our little baby boy so much you both are my whole world." She smiles at my soothing words and pulls me into a sweet kiss.
"And you and our baby boy are mine, I couldn't have made him without you, and now that he's here I've got my two boys to be my whole world. You gave me strength today and continue to give me strength and I love you so much. I love you both so much. We're officially a family now." She says to me softly trying to save as much energy as she can.
The doctors come back in with a freshly clean and baby blanket wrapped baby boy. He's so tiny and they hand him to Olivia first and we both just look at our child. We look at each other in amazement because we made that tiny human in her arms.
"Oh he looks just like you Shawn, and your good hair genes are certainly strong because he has a full head of hair and no doubt he'll have curls when he's older just like his father for sure." She says giggling with excitement.
"Yeah the Mendes hair genes are insane, but he looks like you too not just me like his nose and lips, but yeah like father like son with curly hair." I say and start to giggling.
"Here take him and hold him for a while." She says and I gently take the tiny baby from her arms and into my strong arms.
I am very weary that I'm going to hurt him or drop him but Olivia reassures me that he's fine and I'm holding him correctly. Soon after that we hear a small knock on the door and the doctor comes in and asks for all the baby's name for the birth certificate. We both smile and answer her.
"His name is Manuel David Mendes." We both say to the nurse sweetly. She fills out the birth certificate info and leaves shortly. We hear a small knock on the door and tell them to come in. Once the door opens my family is revealed and they quietly walk into the room.
"He's so beautiful you guys, he looks just like Shawn when he was born, my first grand baby omg he's too precious. Can I hold him?" She asks and Olivia nods to me and I gently hand over the small baby to my mom and she's just staring down at Mauel and smiling so big. Then the baby is passed to my dad and when he saw looked at us decided to tell them the baby's name.
"His name is Manuel David Mendes after both of his amazing grandfathers." Olivia tells them and we hear small gasps from all three of them and my dad started to tear up and just held our son a little closer to himself. Liv smiled at the sight and reached out to grab my hand and squeeze it gently.
After my dad held little Manny he handed him over to Aaliyah who whispered that she was going to be the best/fun Aunt making everyone giggle. Liv looked at me and gave me the "go ahead I know you've dying to tell her look." And I got excited and sat up a little more.
"Hey Liyah I've got some news to tell you as well, um me and Olivia think that you should be Manuel's godmother, and if anything happens to us not that it will, but if it did that you'd take care of him." I say nervously trying to gauge her reaction.
"Of course I'd love to be his godmother, I'll always help look after this little guys. He's a Mendes and my nephew I'd be stupid to say no, and I just love him so much already. He's going to be spoiled by us all though and you know it." She says excitedly but not loud enough to wake the sleeping baby.

I walked through the doorway of our bedroom and the white onesie caught my attention and my face kinda scrunched up while I was reading the words. "Oops (we did it again!)" My eyes got so big and I broke out into a big smile. Liv smiled up at me and placed her hands on her stomach and rubbed it gently.
"No are you serious! You're pregnant again? We're having another baby? Oh my god we're gonna be parents again!!!" I ask all at once in excitement and picked her up from the bed and twirled Liv around happily.
"Yeah baby we're having another baby!!" Liv giggles out and kissed my cheek.
"Oh you've already given me a beautiful son, this time I want a little girl, but I'll be happy as long as they're healthy. You have made me so happy and given me the absolute world and I'll cherish and love you and our growing family until the day I die I promise you. I'll give you and our children everything we could ever want or need as long as you're all happy then I am too. Oh my beautiful wife look at the life we've made with each other and for each other, it's so beautiful and I'm so happy with the loving life we have together. I will protect you and the kids for the rest of our lives I swear this to you." I say picking Liv up and holding her around his waist.
"There's actually a baby in there, I'm so happy and excited for him or her." I say as I wrap my arms around her and kiss the side of her head.
"Me too, like I can't wait for all the pain and soreness because that means our baby will be growing and getting ready to join us." Olivia says looking at my through the mirror. We crawl in bed after our mirror moment and slowly fall asleep with big smiles on our faces.

August 21, 2021
I get home around 5:30PM from the recording studio, I was recording some new songs for my fifth album coming out this year. Olivia is in the kitchen making dinner for all three soon to be four of us. I walk up behind her and wrap my arms around her and place my hands on her very beautiful swollen belly. I swear she looks so gorgeous when she's pregnant, she definitely has the pregnancy glow everyone talks about.
I move her hair to the side and gently kiss her neck and then her cheek. She lets out a small giggle and turns to face me, she leans up and kisses me softly. My arms wrap around her lower back and just hold her to me still kissing her. I faintly hear the sound of my almost two year old boy running to us. I break from the kiss and await my baby boy to make his entrance.
"Daddy you're home!!!" Manuel says while running to me and I pick him up once he reaches my legs.
"Hey buddy how was your day today? Did you keep mommy safe like I asked?" I ask him, interested in his answer.
"Yeah I did, and we had a good day. Mommy took me to the park and then to go get ice cream." He says telling me about his day.
I smile at my little man and kiss his cheek before setting him down. He walks over to Liv and she ruffles his hair and kisses the top of his head. When she straightened back up she lets out a gasp and I grow worried. I first hear something hit the floor and I look and see it was water. Then I see the wetness from her pants to the floor, oh my god her water just broke and the baby's coming.
"My water just broke." Olivia states and I immediately help her to the car and help her in the passenger seat.
Then I run back inside and get the hospital bag and gently grab Manny's hand and we make our way to the car. I strap Manny into his car seat and place the hospital bag in the back seat beside him. I get in the car, Buckley up and begin the drive to the hospital as fast as I can without breaking the law.
We arrive at the hospital and I tell the receptionist that my wife is going into labor. They get her a wheelchair and wheel her into an empty room, we enter the room and they get everyone hooked up and ready to go. I quickly go out into the hallway and make phone calls to my parents, her parents, Aaliyah, Selena, Taylor, and Camila.
I go back into the room and we wait for her to dilate to 10 centimeters. My parents showed up after 30 minutes and they watch over manny while we still wait until she's ready to push. Another contraction hits and she grunts out in pain, the doctor comes back in and takes a look and says when the next contraction hits Olivia needs to start pushing.
I stand up and make my way to her left side, I gently hold her hand and a few minutes later it's time for her to push and she squeezes my hand very hard. she's clenching her teeth and screaming at the same time. I honestly don't know how women go through this much pain and still come out alive. She's doing so well and soon enough our second baby will be here to meet us both.
After a few more string pushes from Olivia our baby girl is here and crying out for us all to hear. Olivia is now resting a little bit as the doctors cut the umbilical cord and go to clean her, weigh, and size her. They bring our daughter back into the room and let Olivia hold her for the first time. After a few minutes Olivia asks if I want to hold her and I gladly say yes.
As soon as our beautiful baby girl is in my arms my eyes start watering and tears are freely falling. She's the most beautiful baby girl and she looks exactly like her mother.
"I swear on my life I will do everything to make you happy and keep you safe, your mommy and older brother are my entire world and I'll never ever let you forget that I promise you. You're my little girl and you'll always be my little girl." I whisper to the sleeping baby in my arms.
Everyone who was waiting in the hall was told they could come in but only if they're quiet and whisper. First my parents and Aaliyah entered the room, the Selena, Taylor, and Camila entered the room and found places to sit.
"So what's her name, have y'all decided yet?" Selena asked looking up at us while holding out daughter.
"Yeah we have a name and her name is Isabelle Rose Mendes." Olivia answers her softly
"That's a beautiful name for a beautiful little girl." Taylor says making everyone smile.
"So, there's something I want to tell you Selena and I swear it's not bad." Olivia speaks up catching her attention.
"Uh yeah what is it love?" Selena asks curiously.
"Well since you and Evans are dating now me and Shawn thought it would be a great idea to make you and him the god parents of Isabelle." Liv says and Selena gasps and begins tearing up.
"Of course we'd be honored to be her god parents, and I'll have to tell Chris the news but oh my god wow thank you Liv." Selena says and we all laugh and she just cradles the baby closer to her.
"Yeah we know how much you and Evans love being around children and babies so we thought you two would be the most perfect god parents for our little Belle. So whenever you want to watch her or just come to see her and visit you're both more than welcome to at anytime just give us a heads up first." I tell her and she smiles and nods at me.
Belle is passed around a few more times and everyone had a turn holding her and loving on her.
"She's absolutely perfect and so beautiful." Taylor says while trying to contain her excitement.
"Yeah she gorgeous, you and Olivia make beautiful babies." Camila says making us both laugh out.
"Hey is it ok if I FaceTime Chris and break the news to him, I'll make sure he's quiet and doesn't wake up Belle." Selena asks and we nod yes to her and she pulls out her phone and begins the FaceTime call. Chris picks up and smiles and asks where she is.
"I'm in the hospital room with Olivia and Shawn, they just had their baby girl." She says to him and he smiles really big.
"Oooo can you fave the camera towards her I want to see her? Also what her name?" Chris asks happily.
"Her name is Isabelle Rose Mendes, but Belle is her newest nickname." Selena tells him and I swear he's crying already.
"Oh my god that's beautiful and she's so precious congratulations Olivia and you too Shawn I'm so happy for you both." He says quiet trying not to wake the baby up.
"Well that's not the only reason I called you him, I called because I have some news for you." Selena says and starts giggling
"Yeah hit me with it." Chris answers her
"Well Olivia and Shawn have just made us the god parents of Isabelle and I couldn't wait to tell you in person." Selena says and Chris' face is now one of shock and happiness.
"No way! Are you serious? Oh my god! Thank you guys so much we won't let you down, and I'm gonna come up and visit soon oh my goodness I have a god daughter." Chris says trying to contain his excitement.
"Ok babe well I gotta go I'll call you later ok?" Selena says and he responded quickly and the call ends.
Visiting hours were over and everyone but our little family were leaving, they all said their goodbyes and the room became quiet as I held my baby girl while my son and beautiful wife were asleep in the hospital bed. I quietly and softly set my newborn baby girl in her hospital cot and fell asleep with a smile on my face in the spare bed in the room.

I was out with the guys just hanging out and having a beer or two. After about an hour I felt it was time to get home so I called an Uber and made my way home. When I walked through the door I called out to my wife and two beautiful children. I heard the putter patter of my children's little feet running towards me, and a pair of footsteps following them. I was met with two very happy children and a beautiful looking Olivia.
My children take my hand and lead me out to our backyard with out telling me why. Olivia was following behind and I was looking curiously at her and she just smiled. Our kids let go of my hands and run behind the three chalk boards and I start to read them as the kids and Olivia wait patiently for my reaction.
My eyes grow big and wide and I turn to Olivia and she's smiling so big and rubbing her hand over her stomach. I walk over to her and kiss her sweetly and passionately and hear a string of "ew" and "gross" from our young children.
"We're having another baby? We're gonna be parents of three in nine months?" I ask a mile a minute.
"Yep I'm a week late and went to the doctor to confirm it a few days and I'm a few weeks pregnant and out third baby is growing in my belly." Olivia tells me and I just smile and lift her up and spin her around.
"We have to tell our families soon, but for now it's our little family secret and I loved how you involved our kids in this pregnancy announcement that's was really cute." I say getting excited about having another baby and addition to our family.
We all go about the rest of our evening with dinner and then siting and watching a movies as a family. After the movie we tuck in our sleeping children and then head to bed ourselves.

July 12, 2022
The day started by us getting up at 7:30AM and getting the kids ready for daycare and pre-school. I got home from dropping the kids off at 8:00AM and Olivia was making some more pancakes for the both of us. Her belly is big and swollen from pregnancy and she's still so beautiful. I think she's the most beautiful woman in this planet but especially when she's pregnant with our child.
At around 9:30AM Olivia was washing some dishes that were in the sink when she gasps and looks down at the floor where the puddle of water is growing slowly. I know what's happening after gone through this twice before I now know the protocol. Her water has just broken and the baby's coming soon.
I help her into the car and go get the hospital/baby bag and run back out to the car. I drive to the hospital and get her checked in and entered into an available room. I call my parents and tell them that Olivia is going into labor and that the kids are going to need to be picked up from daycare and pre school.
It takes about 30 minutes for her to become 10 cm dilated and ready to push. After 5 good push's our second baby boy is here. The doctor takes him for measurements and a cleaning. After a few minutes they bring him back in and hand him over to Olivia and she just holds him to her chest.
The nurse begins to ask about his name and other information and we tell her his name is Peter Gabriel Mendes. He's named after me and Olivia's little brother. The name is perfect and I love how we use family names it's cute and so beautiful.
My parents with our children and Olivia's family have shown up and the room is filled with our families. Taylor, Selena, and Camila have made their way into our room. I love that we have our friends and family here with us and celebrating the life of our third child.
"Hey Taylor and Gabe we both have something to ask of you, you can say no but it's be wonderful if you didn't." Olivia says and they nod waiting for the question.
"Yeah sure hit us with it sis." Gabe says and Taylor laughs at him.
"Um well we were wondering if you both would be the god parents of Peter? Since Aaliyah is the god parents of Manuel, Selena and Chris are the god parents of Isabelle, and Peter needs some god parents we thought you guys would be perfect since he's named after you Gabe and Taylor you'd be such a great god parents since you've been a great aunt to our children now." Olivia asks and then ramble on why they'd be great choices.
"I'd love to oh my god, I already love him so much!" Taylor says excitedly.
"I'd also love to since he's my namesake, and I'm already the fun uncle anyways." Gabe says and Liv laughs at him. I smile at them both and then my wife.
I look around the room and it's all smile and sweet gazes except for a certain black haired Latina individual. My smile drops and I go and sit beside her.
"Hey Mila what's wrong are you ok?" I ask my best friend feeling a little concerned.
"Everyone else is being chosen to be a god parent and I just feel a little left out, don't get me wrong I love being Aunt Mila, and I adore your children, it's just I want to be a god parent too ya know." She tells me and my heart hurts a little because she's feeling left out.
"Hey it's ok to feel left out, of and when we have another baby I promise you you'll be the god parent we just thought Gabe and Taylor were good fits for this one, not that you aren't either. I wasn't supposed to tell you this cause it was gonna be a surprise but we're already planning for our next baby and you'll definitely be it's god mother when they're here ok. You're not left out we just picked and wanted to also surprise you." I tell her hopefully making her feel better. Mila smiles at me and pulls me into a hug.
"Oh my god you're already planning for baby number four? You just had number three!" She whispers loudly.
"Yeah we're gonna stop at four kids so we kinda need to plan for this last one and we've chosen god parents already but not names because we don't know yet." I whisper to her and she just smiles at me.
After talking with Camila and a long day of everyone talking they started to leave but my parents told me that they were gonna watch the kids for a few days while we got settled. Everyone left the room and let us have some peace and quiet with our newborn son. Liv had fallen asleep almost as soon as everyone left and I put Peter in his little hospital cot bed, and got in the spare bed and fell asleep myself.

Andre wanted to have a meeting with me about starting a sixth album. After the meeting I headed straight home to discuss the idea with my beautiful wife. I enter the house and head straight to our room and I'm met with all three of our kids and Olivia in the bed watching tv. At the foot of our bed is a little set up with a baby onesie, a black board, and some Mickey ears. The onesie read: "Guess What?" And the board read: "And then there were 4."
"No are you kidding? Wait really we're having another baby?" I ask her excitedly.
"Yes baby we're having another and final baby, I don't think I could do it again after this one." Liv says which makes me laugh.
"Yeah I think four is a great amount of kids and we'll be so happy with our four." I say to her and she laughs at me.
"Ok well, let's get the kids to bed and you can show me just how excited you are about this baby yeah." Liv says and I immediately get into action and help get the kids to bed. After the kids are all in bed we make our way to our bedroom and you can guess what happens next.

May 31, 2023
Today we were celebrating Olivia's 24th birthday and we were in the middle of her party surrounded by all of our friends and family. Our Marvel friends were here, along with our music friends, and both of our families and we had a big cook out in the back yard and also pool party.
Olivia was standing and talking with Chris, Selena, Robert, and Scarlett. She was smiling and laughing every now and then and just enjoying herself and I was grilling with my dad and father in law. I would look around and make sure our kids and other kids were ok and safe.
I then looked over in Liv's direction again just checking on her to make sure she's ok because currently eight and half months pregnant and I'm worried she'll go into labor soon, but she wanted to have the party anyway. I watch as her face contorts into one of pain and she grabs her baby bump with one hand and the other on Chris' shoulder to steady herself. My eyes go wide and I hand my dad the spatula and quickly make my way over to her.
"Shawn my water just broke and the baby's coming, get the bag and meet me at the car. Everyone feel free to stay and enjoy the rest of the party or feel free to leave and go home, but you can also come to the hospital with us and meet our baby. You'll have to travel separately though." Olivia tells
I was running around the house like a mad man, and I see Chris walking her out to the car slowly trying not to cause her even more pain. I smile at him and mouth a quick "thank you" and he mouths "you're welcome."
I grab the hospital bag and put it in the car and then run back into the backyard and talk to my parents and Taylor, Selena, and Aaliyah.
"Hey can you guys watch the kids and I'll call you all as soon as the baby's here but it would just be easier if you watched them while they were here at the house. Thank you so much I love you all so much." I ask them very quickly trying to get back to Olivia as quick as I can.
"Yeah no problem go and help your wife." Aaliyah says and pushes me in the direction of our back door.
I look at Camila and wave her over to come with me, the. We both go back to the car and get in. I thank Chris once more and drive to the hospital and get Olivia checked in a d settled. I walk out to the waiting room and see my parents, Olivia's parents and brothers, the marvel crew, Camila and her boyfriend Harry.
"Well everyone thank you for coming and being moral support, but it's gonna be a while and when it happens I'll come back out and let you know when you can come in and see the baby." I say to the big group and they all nod their heads and smile at me.
I walk back into the room and sit down in the chair by Olivia's hospital bed and held her hand and she smiled over at me.
"This is the last one, I think four kids running around is quite enough for us don't you think?" She asks me while laughing.
"Yeah four is a good number and we're equally out numbered and I'm glad we are having four. Two little you's and two little me's and they'll all grow up to be so different but also alike in their ways, but I wouldn't trade any of them or you for the world." I say to her squeezing her hand and then she winced and squeezed mine harder.
"Get the doctor I think it's time now." Liv tells me through clenched teeth.
I run out and get a nurse to call the doctor and they all run in the room and let me in to hold my wife's hand while she's told to start pushing. After 4 great pushes Olivia and I hear a high pitched baby crying. The doctors took out new born baby girl for measurements and cleaning. They bring her back in and ask for her information for the birth certificate.
Her name is Atleigh Camila Mendes and she shares a birthday with her beautiful mother and a name with her beautiful loving aunt and god mother Camila. She was born at 8:00PM, she is 6.5LBS, and 19 inches long. She's so beautiful and looks just like her mother.
I walk out and tell the group of people they are aloud in, but that we want Camila and Harry in there first. They follow me into the room and Camila gasps and smiles at the little baby in Liv's arms.
"So we brought you two in first because we want you to be the god parents of Atleigh Camila Mendes." I say and Camila looks shocked and covers her mouth.
"No, are you serious you named her after me, oh my god we're going to be as thick as thieves when she's older and grown up some. We would love to be her god parents oh my god Shawn, Liv thank you so much." Camila says while wiping her eyes of tears that fell after she heard Atleigh's name.
"You've been nothing but supportive and a great friend to me and Shawn and what better way to thank you than giving my baby girl your name as her middle name." Olivia tells her and waves Camila over to hold her god child.
"Thank you Olivia and Shawn I promise we won't let you down, it's such an honor really thank you." Harry says to us and we laugh and I pull him into a hug, and he goes and hugs Liv softly.
Once the sweet moment is over we usher the others in and pass the baby around and the room is all smiles and giggles. After a while some of the group have left and went back to the house. Aaliyah, Selena, Taylor, and our children made their way into the room and we introduced Atleigh to our kids first and then the girls.
After another 30 minutes everyone is starting to leave both our house and the room. Aaliyah made sure to take the kids home and put them all to bed successfully. I'll have to thank her for that later, but I just put my baby girl in her hospital cot and crawl in hospital bed next to Liv and fall asleep.
Olivia and I woke up and went about our day, we had to fly out to my next tour destination, but what she didn't know was that I had a whole dinner planned and that I was going to propose tonight. I'm really nervous about how I'm going to ask and how she's going to answer, I hope she'll say yes but I don't actually know what she'll say.
I had bought the ring with my mom and sister when we were in Toronto so I could have a woman's perspective and it was just a nice bonding moment for all three of us. I chose a silver banded emerald ring with small diamonds surrounding the emerald and on the band of the ring. I thought it was very fitting for Olivia because her birth stone is an emerald so it's more personal to her and her personality.
Olivia is more like an emerald than a diamond, still very beautiful but just a little different in the best ways. She still shines bright but is unique and beautiful. I love the ring and I can't wait to see her face when she sees it, god I hope she says yes, but if she doesn't then that's ok to I'll just try again at a different time.
We get dressed and get on the plane and hours later we landed and get settled in our hotel room and it's now 6PM and our dinner reservations are at 7PM so I go ahead and get ready and tell Liv to get ready for dinner as well. I'm wearing a navy blue patterned shirt, navy blue slacks, and black dress boots.
I tell Liv that I'm going to wait for her in the lobby and to come down whenever she's ready. I exit the room and take the elevator down to the lobby, I then take a seat in the comfy little waiting area. After another 20 minutes Olivia exits the elevator and she looks absolutely stunning. Her dress is beautiful, her make up, hair, and shoes are all beautiful and match her outfit perfectly.
We got to the restaurant and got seated and ordered our drinks and a few minutes later ordered our food. While we were ordering our food I pulled the waiter closer to me and whispered for him to put the ring in her drink that I would order for both of us later. I handed him the ring in a small black pouch as sneakily as I could.
He nodded to me and proceeded to his job. Olivia was looking at me suspiciously and I'm literally trying not to give it away because this is a big moment for both of us and it's a big milestone in our relationship. I hope she hasn't caught onto what my plan is, I don't think she is but still I hope not.
After our food arrived I ordered us both a glass of champagne and nodded at the waiter signaling him that now was the time. Ok I'm growing even more nervous but it's now or never so I just gotta go for it. The waiter comes back a few minutes later with both glasses and I can definitely see the ring in the bottom of her glass and I smile softly.
I watch her and wait until she sees the ring and makes the adorable shocked face that I love so much. After she took the first sip of her champagne and her eyes grew wide with surprise at the ring in her glass. She takes her fork and fishes it out of her glass and wipes it off with her napkin.
I stand up from my chair and get on my knee in front of her and gently take the ring from her and hold it in my hands. She covers her mouth with her hands in shock and then pulls them from her face and sets them in her lap. Her eyes start welling with tears. I start my proposal speech hoping more than anything that she'll say yes when I ask her the big question.
"Olivia Mae Webb, I knew from the moment that I met you that you would be one of the most important people in my life. I knew that I couldn't live without you in my life, I know that I still can't live without you now. You're the most beautiful woman I've ever had the pleasure of dating and loving so completely. Not only are you the most beautiful woman, but your the most beautiful human I've ever met, inside and out, you are light in my life and to this world and you always shine so bright. You have helped guide me through my darkest times and have been there for my brightest ones too. I love the way you are around my family and how you already treat Aaliyah like your little sister, and the bond you have with my parents. I love that you get a long with all of my crazy friends and consider them your own, and don't get me started on how much you love my fans. Sometimes I think that you love them more than I do, and you show that by getting to know them at every concert and make them feel so comfortable around you during the shows. It makes my heart beat quicken and fall even more in love with you that I already am. Olivia you have accepted all of me, the good parts and the bad." I say and Liv covers her mouth with her hands as happy tears fall freely from her eyes.
"You've accepted that being with me you would be exposed to all forms of the Media good and bad and you still decided to be with me despite that. You've accepted that my fans may or may not like you all that much but still chose to be my girlfriend anyways. You've accepted my flaws such as my terrible anxiety and how it can just come out of nowhere and you still help me through it every time. You have loved me through every up and down that we've faced and it has made our love stronger. There's no one else I would want to spend the rest of my life with so, would you me the great honor of being that person and Marry Me?" I ask her with watery eyes myself nervously awaiting her answer.
"Yes Shawn a thousand times yes in every language yes." She says with tears in her beautiful brown eyes.
I slide the beautiful ring onto her left ring finger, she quickly takes my face into both of her hands and brings me in for a passionate kiss as the whole restaurant erupted into applause and smiles at her answer and our new engagement.
Not long after the engagement we enjoyed the rest of our meal, I paid, and then we left and headed back to the hotel to share the news with the team. We made our way up to Andrew's room and most of the band and team were there anyways just hanging out.
Andrew told us to come in and after waiting to see if anyone would notice at first we came out and told everyone that we're engaged. Everyone congratulated us and we went back to our room. We celebrated on our own if you know what I mean, and enjoyed the rest of our night.

I woke up really early and immediately text Olivia.
Messages:
You: Hey my love, I can't wait to see you soon, and can you pack us each a a bag with a weeks worth of clothes?
Liv🌹: I can't wait to see you too, and yes I can do that, and I'll be the one in white. 😘
You: Thank you so much, and I'll be the one waiting for you at the alter.❤️
I smile down at my phone because today I'm marrying the woman of my dreams. And I have no doubt in my mind that she'll look insanely beautiful. I begin getting ready with the rest of the guys and get dressed in my suit and hours later the guys and I head over to the wedding venue.
I send Brian to tell Olivia to meet me in the corridor so I can talk to her before the ceremony. He comes back and tells me she's heading there now so, I kind of speed walk to meet her. I get there and wait behind one side of the wall with my guitar in hand and wait for Olivia to arrive. I hear her footsteps getting closer to the other side of the wall.
"Olivia are you here love?" I say calling out to Olivia from the other side of the wall.
"Yeah I'm here Shawn, you just can't see me before the ceremony. You know bad luck and all the jazz." Liv says and giggles out.
"Yeah I get, ok so I brought my guitar and I'm going to play a few chords and sing a few lyrics from one of my songs to you ok." He says and you smile hugely.
"Ok baby play on, I'll try to guess which one it is, but I feel like I already know which one it'll be." I giggle out and begin to play the chords to "Fallin All In You."
I finish the song and I hear Olivia sniffling a little bit, oh I made her cry oh my god and on our wedding day.
"Shawn that was the sweetest thing you've ever done for me. God, I love you so much and I can't wait to marry you in a few minutes." She tells me, her voice cracking from crying.
"I love you so much Olivia and I can't wait to call you my wife and wake up with you by my side for the rest of my life." I say and I hear her stand from the bench she was siting on.
"Ok Shawn I've got to go and finish getting ready, and you need to go take your place and wait for me. I'll be there shortly. I love you Shawn Peter Raul Mendes." She says and then bringing my swallow tattooed hand to her soft lips and kisses it sweetly.
I hear her footsteps walk away slowly and I head back to the room where me and the guys were getting ready and hanging out before the ceremony started.
Brian tells me that it's time for me to stand and wait at the end of the alter because she's almost ready to get the ceremony started. Brian and I make our way to our spots and we just patiently wait for the love of my life to walk down the aisle towards me. Five minutes by and Camila and Connor are the first people to walk down the aisle and stand in their places.
Next is Aaliyah and Matt and they do the same and stand in their spots. Finally Selena makes her way down the aisle and stand in their places, then the ring bearer walks down the aisle with a small pillow with the rings neatly placed on it. Lastly the flower girl walks down throwing rose petals as she walks until the end of the aisle.
The bridal processional song begins to play and everyone stands as Olivia and her father begin walking down the path towards the aisle and are just coming into my view. As soon as they are both very visible I can't look away from her, she looks absolutely beautiful in her dress and her hair and make up done to perfection. My eyes begin to water and tears are falling freely as I just watch her walk towards me with her father.
We have kept eye contact with each other and only lost it when she got to the alter and her father turned to me and gave her away to me.
"Take good care of her for me." Her father said to me.
"Yes sir, I will." I said to him while I nodded to him and took her soft smooth hands in my own.
She looks at me and I swear my heart starts beating ten times faster than it already was. We just look at each other and it feels like hours when it only was a few seconds before the officiant spoke up and began the ceremony.
"We are gathered here today to celebrate the wedding and coming together of Shawn Peter Raul Mendes and Olivia Mae Webb." The officiant says and pauses shortly before proceeding.
"Now before we really get started with his wedding if there is anyone who objects to this marriage speak now or forever hold your piece......."he waits a few moments and no one says anything, that makes you both smile more.
"No one, ok then let's proceed." The officiant says quickly. We both let a small laugh and smile at each other and squeeze hands.
"Now I know the lovely couple has vows they'd like to exchange before the actual ceremony, Shawn we'll let you start first and then Olivia will go after you." The officiant tells me.
I let her left hand go and grab a piece of paper from my suit pocket and proceed to read from it.
"I'm a little nervous and had to write it down so just bare with me." I say rubbing my thumb over hers and laugh a little bit.
"Olivia, since the day I met you and you came into my life you have not once left my mind since then, and I know you've heard me say that a lot but it's so true. Olivia you cross my mind daily and it brings out biggest smile on my face, and you have genuinely made me a happier and better man. When I met you I just knew there was something so special about you, and you have proven me so right every day that we have been together. I know one of the most special things about you Olivia is how you love so deeply and with your whole heart. Another special thing I knew about you is your ability to always show kindness to those who need it without ever having to ask for it in return, you are also so forgiving and so beautiful inside and out. You are a light in my life, and not just my life but my family's too. It makes me so happy to see you and Aaliyah get along the way you two do it's like you're both already sisters and I couldn't ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with. I promise to take care of you when your sick or just not feeling your best, I promise to protect you from whatever is to come our way, and I promise to be faithful and loyal to you, but most of all I promise to love you a little more each day from this day until my last day." I read my vows and look Olivia in the eye every few seconds and squeezing her hand a few times.
"Olivia, it's now your turn take a few seconds to prepare your vows." The officiant says kindly. You then turn to Selena and she hands you the piece of paper with your written vows on it.
"I'm also a little nervous so like Shawn said just bare with me ok." She says and giggles a little.
"Let me start out with saying that Shawn I have been in love with you long before you ever met me, ok maybe not actually in love with you but I knew that you meant so much to me because your music and songs are a huge reason that I'm still standing here today. You see because about five years ago I was going through possibly the darkest moment of my life and the one thing that really kept me fighting/going was your beautiful voice. So I guess you can say I'm your biggest fan, but all for good reason you saved my life and you had no clue you were doing it but you were. Anyways when we met you I quite literally fell for you because I stepped on my own dress and tripped into you, but you caught me and steadied me until I could stand on my own again. You seem to be doing that a lot, catching me I mean, but this time was different because I was just another fan that you were meeting until we locked eyes and then everything changed for the both of us. I knew that I just had to get to know you personally but I never could have guessed we'd get this personal but here we are getting married today. I'm so blessed to have you in my life and you are a light in my life too, the brightest one may I add. You are always so kind, and in any situation you react with kindness and love first and foremost. You have a heart of gold, and I promise to never take it for granted. I promise to take care of you when your sick or just not your best, I promise to protect you from anything that comes our way, I promise to be faithful and loyal to you until I draw my last breath, I promise to love you more each day from this day until my last day." She says getting choked up a few times, and looking down at the paper and reading the words she had written, but also looking in my eyes every few seconds just as I'd done with her.
"Shawn, if you would repeat these words after me." The officiant speaks up getting my attention.
"I take you Olivia to have and to hold."
"I take you Olivia, to have and to hold." I say looking into her beautiful brown eyes.
"In sickness and in health, for better and for worse."
"I'm sickness and in health, for better and for worse." I say smiling at her.
"Until death do us part or as long as we both shall live."
"Until death do us part or as long as we both shall live." I say squeezing her hand in mine.
"Now Olivia repeat after me." The officiant then asks of you.
"I take you Shawn, to have and to hold."
"I take you Shawn, to have and to hold." She says looking into my eyes.
"In sickness and in health, for better and for worse."
"In sickness and in health, for better and for worse." Liv says still looking into my eyes and she blushes making me smile at her.
"Until death do us part, or as long as we both shall live."
"Until death do us part, or as long as we both shall live." She says and wipes a stray tear from her eye.
"Shawn do you take Olivia Mae Webb to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The officiant asks shawn.
"I, Do." I say and Olivia smiles widely at me.
"Take your ring and say, with this ring, I thee wed." The officiant instructs him.
I then slide the beautiful ring onto Olivia's ring finger and say,
"With this ring, I thee wed." I say making my heart speed up.
"Olivia do you take Shawn Peter Raul Mendes to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The officiant then asks you.
"I, Do." She says and I do a little fist pump making everyone including Olivia laugh.
"Take your ring and slide it onto Shawn's finger and say, with this ring, I thee wed."
He instructs you.
"With this ring, I thee wed." Olivia says after sliding the silver band onto my ring finger. She then squeezes my hand gently and bringing it up to her lips in a quick loving kiss. It's now the moment everyone and I have been waiting for, our first kiss as a married couple.
"I now pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may now kiss your bride." The officiant speaks and I don't have to think twice before i'm bringing her lips to meet mine in a sweet kiss. Olivia wrapped her left arm around my waist as I kissed her for a few moments. I hear cheers and applause from the audience as we have just been married. She pulls away from the kiss and the officiant speaks once more.
"I wish you two a long and happy marriage, now ya I present to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Mendes!" He says as Olivia and I turn to face the crowd and I pull out intertwined hands in the air. I kiss her once more but very briefly before we both walk down the aisle together smiling and waving to everyone in the seats.
We go and take our wedding photos and then make our way to the reception celebration and join everyone else.
"May I welcome for the second time Mr. and Mrs. Mendes!" The DJ says as Olivia and I run out hand in hand while laughing.
"Can I have everyone's attention, it's now time for the Mother of the Groom and Son dance so if Shawn and Karen would make their way to the dance floor please." The DJ says and I stand from my seat and meet my mother on the dance floor.
The music of "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack begins playing through the speakers and my mom takes my right hand in hers and wraps her other arm around my waist. We begin swaying in slow circles, I can tell that she's trying not to cry. We talk about today and all the sweet memories we share and she's smiling up at me. I'm also smiling down at her and my heart just turns into a puddle at how much I love her.
"Now if we could have the Bride and her Father make their way to the dance floor for your dance." The announcer says into the mic.
Olivia stands and makes her way to meet her dad on the dance floor. Her dad takes her hand in his and places his other hand around her upper waist. She lay her head on his chest, and the song "To Make You Feel My Love" by Garth Brooks starts playing. They begin swaying back and forth slowly in a circle until the song ends.
"Now it's time for the Bride and Grooms first dance so please Mr. and Mrs. Mendes make your way to the dance floor." The announcer announces.
Olivia and I both stand hand in hand and walk to the center of the dance floor. I smile down at her and she does the same, I wrap my arms around her waist, and her wrap around my neck. We lock eyes and the chords to "Stone" by Alessia Cara start playing and she could tell that they weren't through the speakers.
Liv turns her head and sees Alessia and her band playing her favorite song. She gasps and covers her mouth with her hands, and looks at me.
"You planned this. Oh my god thank you so much." She says in shock, and I laugh at her reaction.
"Yeah I wanted it to be extra special, and Alessia was all for it." I say taking her face in my hands and kiss her sweetly.
She breaks the kiss and and lays her head on my shoulder and hold her closer to me. She hears me sing the lyrics of the song as she just listens to my steady heart beat. We both slow dance to the song and I feel absolutely happy. I wouldn't trade this moment for the world and I want to freeze time and just stay here and hold her in my arms forever.
The song comes to an end and you kiss Olivia one more time before walking back to your seats hand in hand.
"And now for the Maid of Honor and Best Man Speeches so Selena and Brian come and get a mic." The announcer asks them nicely. Selena gets up and grabs a mic and so does Brian. Brian tells Selena she can go first.
"Ok so as some of you know me and Olivia have been best friends since she was 16 and I was 23. You see I didn't really care that she was a lot younger than me, she was really mature and grown for a sixteen year old, and that's because she's faced things that no one should ever have to face. Olivia is the single most loving person I've ever met, she is one of the kindest people I'll ever have the pleasure of knowing and being friends with I love her like a sister and would do anything for her. Olivia loves with her whole heart and it's so beautiful. Ok enough about the friendship stuff and onto the mildly embarrassing stuff. Sorry Olivia but you know I love you a lot. Ok so a few days after Olivia had finished her spring semester at Lee I called her up and asked her to be my plus one to this little event called the "Met Gala" keep in mind it's an event that a lot of celebrities go to. At first she was hesitant but ended up say yes and I told I already had her dress and shoes waiting for her. I did this because I knew that she was really drained emotionally because of college and that she needed a break and I thought it'd be fun to have my best friend with me. So we got all dolled up and got to the carpet, not even five minuets after being there I spotted Shawn a couple people a head of us, and I pointed him out to her knowing that she absolutely loved him and his music. So I asked her if she wanted to meet him, she excited said yes and we made our way towards him. So, I called his name and got his attention and Olivia started to walk over to meet him, but being the clutz that she is tripped over her dress and into his arms. I laughed at her obviously, but then I saw the best thing that could ever happen to her, Shawn caught her and steadied her and looked at her as if she had hung the start and the moon. It was then that I knew that they weren't just to people meeting for the first time but that they were quiet possibly soul mates. So here's to you Olivia and Shawn May your marriage be filled with joy, many moments of laughter, even some sad moments so you can really live in the happy moments. I love you both and wish you all the best in life." Selena ends her speech on a very sweet note, but the whole speech made Olivia shed a few tears.
"Thank you Selena, we both love you so much, you've always been such a great friend to me and Shawn." Liv says to her as she gives the mic back and sits down beside you. It's now Brian's turn to give his Best Man Speech.
"I have no idea how I'm going to follow that, thank you Selena that was a beautiful speech. Ok so, Shawn and myself go way way back, we've been friends since we were young and there have been many good and bad moments we've faced as friends. I remember the time he told me he was going off and going Magcon and I was ecstatic for him, but I was also sad that he was leaving. I remember when he got signed to Island Records and then his first headlining tour and how he asked me to join him on it. We had the best times in that tour and the next two tours after that as well. But there's one night I specifically remember and it was the night of the Met Gala when he met Olivia. He called me up after the event and gushed about how he met the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen in his life, and I joked with him about it, but he was like no I'm being one hundred percent serious and then proceeded to tell me that he was going to marry her one day, little did I know that he would later start dating her, and then marry her a year later. So, here's to you Shawn and Olivia I wish you a happy marriage and I hope one day you'll have beautiful kids who'll call me Uncle Brian." Brian finished his speech with a small joke making us both laugh out loud.
We then get up and make our way to the cake and cute it. Once the piece of cake is on the plate we each eat a little bit. Olivia picks up the rest of the piece of cake and smears it on my face and my face contorts in shock. She's laughing at me so I pull her face up to mine and rub the cake on my face onto hers too. She laughs and then pulls me into a kiss most likely tasting the cake and icing covering my lips.
Olivia's mother hands us some napkins to clean the cake off of our faces. And after that we open the dance floor to anyone and everyone who wants to dance. After about forty five minutes of everyone dancing the dance floor is cleared and it's time for the garter and bouquet toss.
Brian pulls a chair onto the middle of the dance floor and Olivia sits in it with her hands covering her face. I walk over and kneel down in front of her and smile up at her. I finally pull the skirt of her dress over my head and slowly run my hands up her knees to her upper thighs. I kiss just below where the garter is placed around her thigh and then I drag it down her leg with my teeth.
I remove my head from under her dress and I'm careful not to flash her body to anyone, and then drop the garter from my mouth into my hands. I close my eyes and fling it from my fingers in the direction of the guys. Connor was the one who caught and that alone made me laugh. Olivia threw her bouquet and Aaliyah caught it which made me get a little protective of her.
After a little more dancing it was time to actually leave because we had a flight to catch. We asked everyone to grab a sparkler and line up outside. We waited a few minutes and finally made our way to the exit and saw everyone with lit up sparklers and we started running through the line of people. Halfway down the line, I stop and pull Olivia into a loving kiss and then quickly proceed to the car with my beautiful wife.
Tiffany texted me at 5:00PM (PST) and asked me to come to her hotel so she can start getting me ready for the Met Gala tonight at 7:00PM. After I got ready I would be meeting up with my beautiful date Hailey Baldwin. (I know what you're thinking, eeeew yeah I don't like her either, I'm sorry it's only to make the story more accurate)
I arrive at the hotel and Tiffany meets me in the lobby and leads me up to her room where she has everything prepared and ready to go. Tiff sits me down in a chair and lets Anna do her work on my hair, she does a kinda slicked back look making me look like Prince Charming.
Once Anna is done Tiffany tells me to change into the suit pants and under shirt. Once that's dine she helps me into the suit jacket and adds a few final touches before she takes a picture of me in my suit. I do have to say I look great in my suit. My outfit for tonight is a maroon and black Tommy Hilfiger suit with a white undershirt and black dress shoes.
It's now 6PM and I'm heading over to pick up Hailey from her apartment here in New York. She had reached out on Twitter and asked if I would like to attend as her date tonight and I happily obliged to her request. I arrived at her door just as she was having finishing touches to her outfit and make up. She is wearing a stunning grey dress with a long train also styled by Tommy Hilfiger.
"You look beautiful Hailey." I tell her and she smiles and walks to join me.
"You look very handsome Shawn, thanks for being my date tonight, but just know it's only as friends right? I'm still very much into Justin." She says to me and I cringe on the inside but smile and knod on the outside.
"Yeah I know, don't worry I won't get in the way of you two, but yeah thanks for asking we'll have fun as friends tonight." I say to her calmly and politely not trying to make her mad.
"Ok, well now that we've settled that are you ready to go?" Hailey asks in a snotty voice.
"Oh yeah let's go we don't want to be late." I say and escort and help her into the car making sure not to close her dress in the door no matter how much I wanted to.
After a ten minute awkward silent car ride we've arrived at the Met and are being escorted to the red carpet by some security. We are lined up behind Hailee Steinfeld, and Kendal Jenner. Hailey chars with them and every now and then I chime in so I'm not totally silent all night.
Everyone is now walking but are spread out a couple minutes after each other. It's our turn to start walking on the carpet and as soon as photographers and fans spot us the shouting and flashing begins. We stop every few feet to pose and take pictures, after a few minutes I'm looking around and Gigi Hadid is on the carpet behind us but that's not what caught my attention.
No, what caught my attention was Selena Gomez and her guest/date. She looked absolutely beautiful and I want to know who she is. Like is she Selena's friend? She must be if she's here with her. I turn my attention back to taking photos with Hailey on my arm and by my side. After walking a few more feet I hear a voice call my name.
I turn in the direction of the voice and am met with Selena, I wave her over to me. Hailey steps to the side not wanting to be rude. Selena grabs her friend's hand and brings her over with her. Her friend stands a little to the side and behind Selena.
"Hey Shawn, I wanted to say hi and introduce my best friend Olivia. She's a big fan of yours and is excited to meet you tonight." Selena says gesturing to her friend who's name i now know.
Olivia takes a few steps forward to extend her hand to me, but she ends tripping on the front of her long burgundy dress.
I instinctively reach out and catch her before she falls and completely embarrasses herself. I steady her and make sure she's ok, she looking at her feet trying to cover her now red filled cheeks. I hear Hailey snicker at her tripping behind me and I turn to look at her and frown at her for being rude.
She seems really nervous and I get it, It must be her first time at an event like this and they can be nerve racking for sure. So, I don't make a big deal out of it so to ease the her embarrassment I joke with her by telling her a cheesy pick up line.
"I guess you can't help falling for me huh?" I say to her jokingly, she laughed at what I said and looked at me and smiled, her smile is beautiful.
"Yeah, I guess so, sorry I didn't mean to trip on you." She says while blushing red.
"It's alright it happens no need to be embarrassed about it," I say in a calm voice trying not to make her even more nervous.
I forgot that I was still holding onto her arms, I slowly release her and she smooths her small hands down her dress and gathers herself. Selena was just watching us interact and holding in a small laugh at her friend.
"oh wow look we're wearing the same color, personally I think it suit you better if I'm being honest." She points out very nervously but smiles at the observation she's just made.
"I beg to differ you look beautiful in Burgundy, it really is your color." I compliment the beautiful young woman standing before me, as Selena just watches with amusement on her face.
"Why thank you, that means a lot coming from you, anyways we don't want to keep you and Hailey too long, it was truly wonderful meeting you thank you for catching me and being so kind." She says smiling slightly looking down to her feet trying to hide her blush.
"You're welcome, and it was absolutely amazing meeting you too any friend of Selena's is a friend of mine, I hope we'll run into each other again soon." I say before pulling her in for a quick hug, and kissing her cheek innocently.
After our sweet person to person interaction Hailey puts her and through mine and we walk away from the two sweet girls. Once we're out of earshot from them I speak up.
"How could you laugh at her? That was really rude of you and didn't make the situation any better." I say to Hailey in scolding tone.
"It was funny, I mean who trips at the Met Gala, like seriously who was she anyway?" Hailey says with a rude and snotty attitude.
"Well, for one she's Selena's best friend, and second she's my fan and it was probably her first time at an event like this and plenty of people, celebrity or not, trip at events like this so show some kindness." I say snapping at her in defense of Olivia.
"Well it's very obvious it was her first time that's for sure." Hailey says snapping back.
"So what if it was, you still shouldn't have laughed at her, it was rude and just gross behavior." I say to her getting even more mad.
"Ok I'm sorry for laughing that was wrong of me, and I did feel bad for her I hope she doesn't trip anymore and has a great night." Hailey day but I can't tell it's an empty apology.
We finish walking on the carpet and into the building and enjoy the rest of our night, but I know now that I'm not ever going to an event like this with her ever again. Like c'mon how can you be that rude to someone you don't even know. Her attitude this whole nights had been awful and has shown me her true colors.
The night comes to an end after another few hours and I'm just ready to get back to my hotel room and go to sleep. Once I drop Hailey back off at her apartment I drive to my hotel and change into some sweatpants and a white t-shirt and fall into the bed after turning the lights out. I fell asleep thinking of Olivia how I now no longer could get off my mind.

I was heading over to Tiffany's hotel from my own hotel so, can get ready for the VMA's. It's now 5:00PM and the show starts at 8:00PM so I have to be ready by 6:45PM so, I can't get on the carpet early and be on time. I arrive and Anna gets to work first doing my hair and then just a little bit of concealer under my eyes.
Once she was finished with me she sent my right over to Tiffany and I changed into my suit pants and undershirt. I put my shoes on and Tiff helped me into my suit jacket and sent me on my way.
I arrived at the carpet around 7:15PM so kinda early and I was walking and stopping for photos doing my thing.
I was pulled into an interview, and while answering questions I felt like someone was looking at him the whole time so, I quickly turned and looked to my right and saw the very familiar face of Olivia Webb. I smile at her and realize I haven't seen her in almost two months and she still looks as beautiful when I first met her.
She is wearing a beautiful dark green dress and is looking absolutely stunning.
I then turn my attention back to the interview and finish it quickly and continue on the carpet. I hope she approaches me, but if she doesn't I'll find her inside and say hi. I walk a few feet down the carpet and stop for a photo when I feel a small hand on my arm gaining my attention, it's Olivia she come over to me.
"Hello Olivia, I was wondering if you were going to come say hello you look absolutely stunning tonight." I say to her and I can see her smile and blush at my comment.
"Hi Shawn, how've you been? Thank you, you don't look too bad either, and I couldn't not say hello to you after seeing you on the carpet." She asks and then compliments me making me smile at her.
"I'm doing really well, and I told you we'd run into each other again." I say to her and laugh at how right I was.
"Yeah you did and I'm glad we ran into each other you're a very nice person to be around." She says making me smirk at her.
"Am I now? Are you flirting with me?" I ask her jokingly trying to purposefully make her a little nervous, because she's cute when she's nervous.
"No, just stating a fact, sorry if I gave you the wrong impression." Olivia says to me justifying why she said it.
"I was just kidding, but thank you so much that means a lot coming from you Olivia." I say reassuring her that I was messing with her.
"Hey would you like to walk the rest of the carpet with me?" I ask her surprising myself with this newfound confidence.
"Yes that would be lovely, thank you so much." Olivia answers me and I smile and hold my arm out for her to hold and join me on the rest of the carpet.
We finish walking the carpet and I walk her to her seat and come to find out she's siting next to me. I smile excitedly and happy to know she'll be siting by me the whole night.
"Wow, I didn't expect to be sitting next you, much less even see you tonight, but I guess everything happens for a reason." She says jokingly and I go along with it.
Wow, Olivia my feelings are hurt." I say holding my hand over my heart and laughing. She laughs along with me as well.
Her laugh is beautiful and adorable oh boy I can feel myself falling already, but it's way too soon to actually tell. Can what I'm feeling for her be real? Or is just all in my head? I don't know but I want to dive in and explore my feelings even more so I'm gonna ask her out after the show ends.
"Hey I'm up to preforming first so I've got to go backstage soon, but once I'm done I'll be back here and we can talk some more when I get back ok." I tell her hoping she understands why I have to leave her so soon.
"Yeah that's sounds like a good plan, and go kill it like you always do." Olivia says to me understanding why I have to leave her, and even encourages me.
I smile at her before walking away from her heading backstage to get ready to open the VMA's with my new single "In My Blood" from my new Album "Shawn Mendes." For a few moments I forgot that she was a fan of mine, but smiled so big when I did remember.
I performed my song and every now and then I would look at her and she was so mesmerized by me singing. She made me smile and is the reason I love doing what I do. I finished my performance and made my way back stage and then finally back to my seat.
"That was so amazing and literally the best thing I've seen all night, you killed it for sure I'm so proud of you." She says to me with a very happy and proud tone of voice.
"Thank you Olivia, I appreciate that so much." I say with gratitude.
"So, how long have you been a fan of mine?" I ask her curious to know just how long she's been a fan.
"I've been a fan since the early days and by early days I mean since Vine." Olivia tells me and my eyes go wide in shock! Holy Shit she's been a fan since basically the beginning of my career.
"I really like "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back," but I love them all so much so it is really hard for me to choose a favorite." She says making me smile, I love that one too but I love it because the energy I and crowd feel when I perform it is unreal.
"I like that one a lot too, the energy and the rush I feel when I perform is like nothing else I've felt." I say and she smiles at me like she wants to hear me talk about it some more.
After other awards and performances the night came to a close and everyone was either going home or to an after party. So I get the courage to ask he what her plans are.
"So are you going to any after parties tonight?" I ask her quickly.
"No I wasn't really planning on it why?" She says and then asks me.
"Because I was thinking you could go to one with me?" I say nervous while scratching my neck hoping her answer is a yes.
"Yeah sure I wouldn't mind going with you." Olivia says while smiling sweetly.
"Ok cool, well lets go, I have a car waiting to take us." I mentally let out a sigh of relief.
Once we get there I offer to get her a drink and she asks for a water, while I'm getting her and myself a drink I see her and Camila talking and laughing. That sight made me smile and when our drink arrived I got them and took them over to our little table. She thanked me for
the water and room it from me.
Camila left to go dance with some other celebrities here. Olivia and I kept talking and laughing until I had this feeling I should ask her out.
"I don't know about you and how you feel, but after tonight and getting to know you better I would like to take you on a date sometime if that's alright with you?" I ramble on before asking her what I've been dying to ask her since I saw her on the carpet.
"Well after how well you have treated me and taken care of me tonight who am I to say no, so yes Shawn I would love to go on a date with you." She says so calmly, but it makes me smile and on the inside I'm jumping, happy dancing, and pumping my fists.
You both exchange numbers and continue conversing until you're ready to get back home. After the party we get in my reserved car and the driver drives us to her apartment and I help her out of the car. I walk her to the main door of her apartment building not wanting to make her uncomfortable by walking her all the way to her actual door.
"Well I guess this is my stop, thank you again for making this night better than I ever thought it would be." She turns and says to me.
"You're very welcome I'm glad you had a great night, I did too it was so wonderful seeing you again, I'll text you soon and give you more information about our date, but until then have a nice rest of your night." I say to her before pulling her in for a big hug.
After our hug I kiss her cheek and make my way back to my car and the driver drives off in the direction of my hotel. I get in and change into my pajamas, turn the lights off, and fall in the bed and go to sleep thinking yet again of Olivia. She's all I've been thinking of and I'm not complaining one bit.

Olivia and I flew in to New York two days ago in preparation for the Met Gala this year and luckily we got a room. Today is the day and we're both on a tight schedule. At around 5PM Tiffany called me and asked us both to come over to start getting ready for tonight.
We both go over to Tiff's hotel and the hair and make up team started working on Liv first. Once they were done with Olivia she walked out of the room and told me it was my turn. I went in and sat in the open chair and Anna started in my hair. She slicked it back to make it look like my dads hairstyle and paint gold in my hair. She finished my hair and sent me to get dressed in my suit.
"You look absolutely stunning Olivia, like oh my god you're so beautiful in that dress, I can't wait to have you walk on the carpet with me so I can show everyone my beautiful girlfriend." I says getting excited and smiling.
"Awe Shawn that's super sweet, and I love your hair and the gold in it, that's amazing and you look just as good as me and I bet you'll look even better when you're in your suit." She says lovingly and kissing his cheek softly trying not to ruin your lipstick.
I got dressed in my black Saint Laurent suit pants and undershirt. Then Tiffany helped me into my suit jacket and sent me out to go see Olivia.
After a few minutes Olivia Walked out in a beautiful black floral ball gown dress, with gold eye makeup up and red lips.
"You look absolutely amazing and so handsome, omg Shawn you look way better than I do that's for sure." She tells me while making her way over to stand in front of me.
"There's no way I look better than you, because you're drop dead gorgeous in that dress, and it's not just the dress it's you, you're always beautiful to me. So no I don't look better than you but thank you for the compliment." I say lifting her head up so I can look at her when I says that to her.
I lean down and kiss her softly trying not to ruin her lipstick, but it's also passionate kiss. I pull away after a few seconds and catch my breath. If kissing her leaves me this breathless then I don't ever want to stop.
"Thank you Shawn you don't know how much that means to me, I love you so much." She says while hugging me.
We then make our way to the car and start the drive over to the Met Gala. We arrive after a few minutes and I help her out of car, making sure she doesn't trip or fall.
"Thank you that was really sweet, also I'm a little nervous but it's ok I'll be fine so long as your by my side to keep me from tripping this time." She tells me while giggling and I start giggling with her because of her little giggle.
"You're welcome, and it's ok to be nervous I am too but we'll be alright, and yeah I'll always catch you and it's ok I thought it was cute that you tripped into me it showed me that you're just as clumsy as me and it made me really like you." I say smirking at her and then giggling again at the memory of her tripping into me at last years Met Gala.
We walk onto the carpet and and we started taking photos. In the middle of one photo Olivia kisses my cheek making me smile and pull her closer to me. I laugh a little bit after she kissed my cheek.
"That was really cheeky of you Olivia, but I liked it so I'm not gonna complain." I giggle out making Liv giggle too.
"I know, but I thought why not it'd be cute and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to kiss your cheek." Liv says laughing lightly.
Liv and I finally reach the bottom of the stairs and I make a joke to make her laugh and ease her nerves.
"Are you ready for the stairs? I wouldn't want you to trip up them this time." I ask Olivia while
kinda laughing but also reminding her of last year.
"Oh you got jokes do you? Ha Ha yeah I am ready, but seriously don't let me trip or fall please that would be so awful." She asks me sarcastically and then tells me seriously.
"I've got you love, you're not gonna trip or fall, I won't let you." I whisper sweetly in her ear.
We walk a little ways up the stairs and stop and are met with Jared Leto and his fake head. It kinda freaked me out, but it freaked Olivia out even more so. So, I asked to hold it and took a few pictures with it and made Olivia laugh. Her laugh is so cute how could I not want to hear that.
After that we finished walking up the stairs and are interviewed by Liza Koshy. After the fun interview we made our way into the building and enjoyed the designs and decorations. Olivia and I danced to a few sings after we ate. We both just enjoyed ourselves and had a good time.
We went to an after party and danced even more and then went back to our hotel and got ready for bed. I'm so glad to have had Olivia with this year she was a much better date than Hailey was last year that's for sure. We fell asleep in each other's arms comfortably.

A lot of things have gone into tonight such as; writing and registering a new song with my beautiful girlfriend Olivia. We had to write the lyrics and melodies, then we had to record the vocals and film the music video. Just a lot of grueling hard work and through it all Olivia has done it with her head held high and big smile, I can tell that she put her heart and soul into this song with me and I love that she's so dedicated to the song with me.
So tonight is a big night for both of us but more so for her because this is her first time being nominated for not just one category, but five different ones, or just anything music related. I want this night to be more focused on her than me because she's new to this world and I'm so used to these events. Olivia has worked hard and should be celebrated for that and I hope we win so she can experience that feeling you get when you win an award for a song. It's an amazing feeling and she deserves to feel it all the time.
We eventually head over to Tiffany's hotel to get ready for tonight and as soon as we enter her room she directs Olivia to Hair and Make Up and me to wait until Olivia's done first. Once Olivia's done I get up and walk in the direction of the hair and make up room and Olivia is exiting and almost runs into me.
"Oh my god thank you baby, if I had hit you who knows what I would've messed up, sorry I'm so clumsy." Liv giggles out trying to calm herself down.
"It's ok love don't worry about it, also you already look so beautiful, I can't wait to see your dress, go find Tiffany she's waiting for you babe." I say laughing at her.
"Thank you and Anna needs you now so have fun." Liv says blowing me a kiss before going to find Tiffany.
I walk into the room that Olivia was just in and Anna tells me to sit down and she gets to work on my hair. When she's done I walk out to meet Liv. She walks out of her changing room and I just stare at her for a few seconds in shock of how beautiful she looks in her dress and all dolled up.
"Oh baby you look absolutely breathtakingly beautiful in that dress." I tell her lovingly meaning every word.
"Thank you, I can't wait to see you in your suit, I hear we'll be matching again according to Tiff." Olivia tells me while smiling widely at me.
"We always match it's just our thing, it's an honor to match with you and I'll never get tired of it...ever." I say kissing her cheek and heading over to the room where Tiffany is waiting for me.
I change into the suit pants, and under shirt. I then put my dress shoes on and then Tiffany helps into my suit jacket. She looks over me one last time and let's me go back to Olivia.
I walk up to her and wrap my arms around her waist as she does the same.
"Why, don't you look extremely handsome tonight." Liv says making me smile down at her.
"Thank you, have I told you that you look absolutely gorgeous yet?" I ask her while smirking down at her.
"Yeah but it doesn't hurt to hear more than once." She giggles out to me.
My hands move up to her sides and I start tickling her, she let's out a squeal and tries to escape me but I'm stronger then her.
"Stop, one of us is going to mess something up if you keep doing that." She says between breathes.
"Ok I'll stop, but you only if you kiss me first." I bargain. She leans in and gives me a short passionate kiss, after a few seconds she pulls away and kisses my cheek.
After that we head out to the car and I help her into the car being the gentleman I am and that my mother raised me to be. We converse and laugh on the drive over to Prudential Center and too the carpet. We arrive on the carpet at 7:25PM and start the whole carpet process.
We pose for pictures every few feet and after a few minutes of that we both are pulled into an interview with a woman with MTV. I let Olivia answer each question first because tonight is more about her than me tonight and I'm perfectly ok with that.
"So, to start this interview I've got a question for Olivia. How are you feeling and are you nervous about performing onstage tonight." The female interviewer asks Olivia. I just look at her with a smile.
"I'm feeling really good right now and I'm a little nervous, but it's a good kind of nervous. There's so many other artists and celebrities here tonight so it's hard not to be nervous, I just don't want to mess up, especially on a night like tonight I guess." Liv answers her question.
"Ok now onto Shawn, how do you feel having your lovely girlfriend with you tonight?" She asks me.
"I feel fantastic, I'm so glad she's here with me and as my girlfriend this year, she was with me last year but we were still getting to know each other, but uh yeah having her with me is the best feeling in the world." I answer her making Liv's heart melt into mush.
"Oh my god that was so cute." Liv mutters to herself but I hear her and smile.
After I had said my answer it seemed to remind Liv of something.
"how could I forget today oh my god." She said a little excitedly.
She leans over to my ear and whispers, "Did you know that tonight is the one year anniversary of our first date?"
My eyes widened is shock and then I smile and laughs a little bit, gaining the interviewers attention.
"What's going on? What'd Olivia tell you?" She asks kindly with curiosity.
"Well she just told me that she remembered that today is the one year anniversary of when we went on our first ever date, and I was shocked and then laughed at the fact that we've both been super busy promoting our song and touring that we both forgot until just now." I politely answer the interviewer.
"Yeah it wasn't until he said that he was happy I was with him as his official date this year that it clicked in my brain, last year the VMA's were held in the 20th and then we went on our date on the 26th, making today one year since then. I had to tell him because how could I not ya know, anyways sorry for interrupting your interview sorry." She tells her giggling after that last part of my answer.
"Well, that's super cute and Happy one year since your first date guys. So, Olivia, you and Shawn are performing "Señorita" together tonight, do either of you anything you want to say about that?" She tells you both and asks Liv.
"Thank you so much, and um well it's a really special song to me because I got to be apart of the writing, and recording process, and I got to really see how creative I can be. And just how hard it is to write a song, I also go to witness how Shawn comes up with Lyrics, Melodies, and everything else that goes into writing a song for him, and also the recording process was really fun to be apart of. When I got in the booth I was able to just be myself all my worried fell always and the passionate side of me really came out, but yeah I'm super excited to perform it with Shawn tonight and for the world. I think we'll have lots of fun onstage tonight." Liv answers first.
"Yeah thank you so much, and well I'll just reiterate what she said because she just said everything I could think of about the song, but yeah it's a special song to me too, and we had fun making it and we'll have fun performing it tonight." I answer after Liv.
"So, your song is nominated for five awards tonight, and Shawn you are nominated for Artist of the Year, how are y'all feeling about that?" She asks you both.
"I'm honored that in such a short time that our song has been nominated for so many awards and I hope we can go home tonight with at least one, but if not that ok to i'm just happy to be here and to know that people love our song so much, and also for Artist of the Year I'm truly honored to be in that category, I'm feeling really good about tonight." I answer this one first, because Liv's too shocked to speak right away.
"Well for me I was just given the information about being nominated so I'm a little shocked right now. I feel like I'm gonna try and make a name for myself after this because I have always wanted to have a career in music. not just as his girlfriend, and I'm lucky enough to have my name associated with Shawn's in music business and not just as his girlfriend but as his equal on this beautiful song. This is my first time being nominated for any award and I'm truly honored and blessed by not on my having one nomination but five. Wow, I'm so beyond honored and super happy to hear that." Olivia wipes her eyes of tears that fell from her eyes, she still looks beautiful even when crying.
"Sorry, I'm really emotional, I just never thought that I would ever be able to live my dream of being a singer and making a name for myself and with my best friend by my side to guide me through it. I'm honored to have a song that's nominated and I hope we can take at least one home with us too." Liv answers while trying not to cry again.
"Awe well, I hope you can take one home too, and thank you for you time, I'll let you get on with the rest of your night, enjoy it and have great time." She tells us and hugs Olivia quickly and then me.
"Thank you, you too." Liv replies before you and her walk back onto the carpet and finish making your way down the carpet and into he building.
We walk away and down the rest of the carpet and Olivia speaks up quickly and quietly.
"Holy Shit, why didn't you tell me about that, and that interview went a lot better than I thought it would." Liv says to me.
"I wanted to surprise you with it and I did that successfully, and how come?" I ask
"Well I thought she was just gonna ask me what's it's like to in a relationship with you, and not about our music and how hard we worked, but not every interviewer is like that and it's just nice to have a good interview." She tells me and I pull her closer into my side.
"Very well said Liv, also your answer about the song and performance blew me away, I was think holy shit she's amazing, also happy anniversary of our first date, I'm so glad I decided to ask you out. If I could go back in time I wouldn't change a single thing because it had lead us here together and I'm so in love with you Olivia." I say making her laugh as we walk to find your seats.
"I'm glad you did too and I wouldn't change a thing either because we're here and I love you so much and I'm so proud of how Far we've come." Liv says stopping me and taking my hands in hers and kissing me sweetly.
We get to our seats and find we're sitting next to Camila and her guests. I smile and hug her and say hello, the. I just watch as her and Olivia converse. After something Olivia says Camila called Taylor over cause she was in the row next to us. I watch as Taylor and Liv interact and it's super cute and sweet to see my girlfriend interacting with some of my friends too.
Soon the light sim letting us all know that the show is starting so we all take our seats and wait for the host to introduce Taylor as the opening performer of the night. Olivia got excited and was just smiling through the whole performance. I just watched her and I feel like I've fallen even more in love with her. She's so beautiful when she's all smiley and happy, I want to see her like this all the time.
Half way through the performance I had to go backstage to get ready for my solo performance of "If I Can't Have You." I just took my suit jacket off and changed into black slacks and got in place. I heard Bebe Rexha introduce me and I took a deep breath and started the song.
I gave my all and hoped for the best, and as I look out at the crowd I spot a very smiling Olivia who's also dancing and jumping to my performance. She really is my biggest fan isn't she? Well I love that she supports me the way she does I wouldn't be here without her.
When I finish the performance I swear I could hear her scream and cheer for me. Turns out I actually did because she's just that loud in her support for me. I leave the stage with a wave and blow a few kisses at the audience.
I get back to my seat next to her and she engulfs me in a hug. I hug her back and kiss her cheek. We sit back down and wait for Lizzo to start her performance and when it does I swear Olivia jumped out of her skin. She was dancing in a sassy manner, and was screaming the lyrics to both songs. I've never seen her like this but I absolutely love it.
Some awards are given out and we stand and clap for the winners and then the Jonas Brother's are introduced to perform "Sucker," and "Only Human." Olivia was really excited for their performance as well. She was dancing with Camila and then switched to dance with me during "Only Human."
We had so much fun singing and dancing with each other. Then Lil Nas X came out and performed as well. She didn't really care that much for his performance and I didn't wait her but oh well. After that Missy Elliott was up to perform and halfway through we both had to go backstage to get ready for our debut performance.
I change into a white wife beater tank top, black skinny jeans, black suspenders, and put my black boots on. I walk out and find Olivia all ready and dressed in the white lace dressy outfit from the Music Video. We make our way to the side of the stage and wait for Missy to finish up. When Missy is done the lights are off off on the stage and we get in our places.
I'm in the middle of the stage and Olivia is closer to end wing where some fans are sitting. We are introduced and the lights come up and the music begins playing through the speakers. Olivia starts the song and maker her way to me slowly in a seductive way. We circle
each other and continue singing.
Liv stands behind me and runs her hand over my back and comes around to my front with her back facing me, I wrap my free arm around her waist and take hold of her free hand and she bends down slowly. I pull her up and spin her to face me as the music stops, and then we proceed to sing out the chorus leading up to the second verse.
We are now facing each other and centimeters apart, everyone in the room is anticipating a kiss, but we're not going to give them one. I suddenly move back but hold her arm and then pull her back into my body. We finish singing the song but this time we are sharing a mic and so close. Once the song is over Olivia bumps her nose with mine and smiles up at me.
We turn and wave goodbye to the crowd and exit the stage. Olivia turns to me and speaks quickly because of her excitement and adrenaline pumping.
"Holy Shit that was amazing, why was I nervous again? And just having you up there with me eased most of my nerves anyway but still holy shit." Liv says as the energy is now pumping through her veins.
"I know you were amazing, it's ok to feel nervous as long as you don't let it control or take over completely. And I felt the same way having you up there with me was fun and I loved every second of it, thank you for saying yes to making the song with me." I reply to her with equal excitement.
"I'm glad I said yes too, don't ever let me say no to making a song ever, because it's so worth it." She tells me.
We both go back to our separate changing areas, I change out of my outfit and back into my dark green suit that's hanging up in the room. Once I was done I walk out and wait by Olivia changing station. After a few minutes I hear her call for me.
"Hey babe, can you come help me zip up my dress please?" Olivia asks me, I smile and walk over to her changing area.
I enter and see her dress unzipped in the back so I take hold of the back and feel her warm skin graze against my fingers. I quickly zip up her dress and turn her to face me. I lean down and kiss her passionately releasing all the tension from the performance we just did together. She breaks the kiss and we just home each other close.
"I couldn't imagine doing any of this with anyone else, and not just performing, writing, or even singing songs, but life in general. I can't imagine my life without you anymore. You are my bestfriend, my heart, my lover, and so much more all in one. I love you so much Shawn." Liv says and kisses me once more. I pull away from the kiss slowly.
"I can't imagine my life without you either, I'm so glad I can call you my girlfriend, my bestfriend, my heart, and so much more too, I never want to go through life without you." I say to her and kiss her forehead before taking her hand and leading us both back to our seats.
We get back to our seats and watch Miley Cyrus perform her song "Slide Away" and then the award for Song of the Year is awarded to Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus with "Old Town Road ft. Billy Ray Cyrus." We both cheered for their win. A few more awards and performances have gone on since then and we just watched happily.
A little while later it's now time for the Best Collaboration award which we are both nominated for and have been waiting for all night. Alex Morgan, Ali Kriege, and Ashlyn Harris Present the nominees and the video rolls of this years collaborative songs. After the video one of the women in stage opens the letter with the winner.
"Shawn Mendes and Olivia Webb, with Señorita!!" They all shout happily into the mic.
I stand and look over at Olivia and she looks like she's about to cry, I hug her right before escorting and helping her up on the stage.
I go to the mic first because I'm gonna keep it short and sweet so she can have longer to speak if she'd like. I know this is really special for her, not that it's not for me either it's just a little more important to her.
"First, I would like to say thank you to Olivia for agreeing to write sing, and record this song with me. We both have put in a lot of hard work and it has paid off. Second, I want to to thank my family for being so supportive, and my fans for being so loving, welcoming, and accepting of this song. I love you all so much." I say quickly so Liv can say her thank you's too.
"I would like to thank this amazing man standing up here with me not only as my boyfriend, but as my other half on this beautiful song, you have put in equally as much hard work on this song as I have, and it really has paid off. Thank you to the fans who have taken so kindly to me, and continue to believe in me. I can't thank you enough for this. I would like to also thank my mother for always telling me to never give up on my dreams no matter how silly they are, I did it momma." You blow a kiss to the camera. "We did it, thank you!!" Liv says rushingly but meant every word, she kisses my cheek before we exiting the stage and walk back stage once more.
We stop and take pictures with our award and head back to our seats are met with congratulations from Taylor and Camila. We both said thank you and the show ended not too long after that. We decided we weren't going to an after party because we were really tired. We went back to our hotel and just went to bed cuddling each other.
Today is the day of the AMA's and you were super excited. Tiffany had your dress and Shawn's suit all planned and ready. It's around 5:30 PM (EST) and the Carpet starts at 8:00 PM (EST). You and Shawn had rehearsed your performance yesterday afternoon so you could get the choreography down, you both had fun and goofed off after you were done.
So, Tiff texted you to come over and get ready and to bring Shawn with you as well. You both made your way over to her hotel to get ready and all the other necessary things that needed to be done before the show. Tiffany told you to sit in the chair in front of the mirror and told the make up artist to start working on you.
The nice young woman did your foundation, concealer, contour, blush, highlight, and eyebrows. After she finished your face she started on your eyes. She blended a dark purple into the creases of your eyes before she cut the crease with concealer. Then she packed a dark green onto your eyelids and smoked your lower lash line with both colors.
She did your eyeliner and your lower lashes, then she did your top (main) lashes, and then applied the false lashes to both upper lash lines. She finishes with a dark purple matte lipstick.
Once she was done she moved around you and you looked into the mirror and gasped because you loved the look and how beautiful it is.
The young woman then ushered the hairstylist over in your direction and told them that they can start working on your hair. The nice woman turned your chair with your back facing the mirror and starts working on your hair. Your hair was already dried from your shower earlier and in ringlet curls. She put your hair up in a loose bun with some loose strands over the bun and the side of your face to frame it nicely. She then put a nice beaded lace looking hairpiece in and then finished up the look.
After she did the finishing touches she turned you around and held a small mirror behind you so you could see the back of your head.
You smile at the style and the hairpiece and she let you get up out of the chair and you walked over to where Tiffany was and told her you were ready for your dress. She leads you to the room where your dress was hung up, your mouth opened in awe of how beautiful the dress she chose for you was. You begin changing out of your clothes and she takes the dress off the hanger and helps you step into the dress. Tiffany pulls the dress up your body and you slide your arms through the sleeves and she zips it up and fluffs it out for the full effect.
The dress is an emerald green lace long-sleeved dress with purple flowers and beaded work on the top of the dress. The dress has a somewhat deep neckline and a slit on your right leg and is just beautiful and fits your body type very nicely.
Tiffany then handed you your shoes and you took them from her and admired them for a few seconds before putting them on your feet. They are deep purple velvet 6-inch heels, and they match the purple flowers on your dress.
Tiffany gave you a once over and told you that you looked absolutely beautiful and that you're good to go. You walked out of the room and went to find your handsome husband, you heard his voice talking while he was getting ready so you followed his voice into a nice room with a few people helping him with his suit.
You stood in the doorway for a while just to see how long it would take him to realize you're there. After a few minutes, Shawn is now fully dressed in his dark purple and green suit, his necklaces and chest hair on display, with his hair, kinda slicked back but also looking fluffy, and his black dress shoes.
He was goofing around and said something kinda funny and you couldn't help but laugh out loud making his head turn towards you. His eyes grow wide and a big bright smile appears on his face, you smile and look down slightly while feeling the blush crawl up your neck and onto your cheeks.
"You look stunning Olivia, absolutely stunning. I'm so excited to walk this carpet and attend this event with you as my wife instead of girlfriend or fiancé, but my wife." Shawn day to you while drawing attention to you. You giggle as he pulls you into a loving side hug trying not to miss anything of yours up.
"Well you look incredibly handsome in your suit, and we're matching again, Tiffany is good at doing that with our outfits. I'm also very excited about walking the carpet and attending this event with you as my husband and me as your wife." You say to him and pull him closer to you and place your hand on his suit-clad chest.
"Yeah we are matching and I love it, also we should start heading down to the cars and leave if we want to make it on time," Shawn tells you before leading you down to the car and helping you into it before he gets in himself.
You, Shawn, Jake, and Andrew are all talking and laughing at jokes that have been told on the drive over to the Microsoft Theatre. It's now 6:25 PM (EST) and you have just arrived on the carpet. You had arrived on the carpet just a few people after your best friend Selena Gomez who you're most excited to see perform after years of her trying to stay out of the drama and spot light.
You and Shawn walk along the red carpet and are met with the screams and shouts of photographers and fans who are excited to see you both. You smile at the cameras for a few seconds and then wave to some fans who are calling out to you. Shawn was doing the same thing for a few minutes and then he leaned over and whispered a funny joke in your ear to make you laugh and smile more naturally.
You walk every few feet and stop to pose for pictures with your handsome husband. He wraps his left arm around your waist and pulled you into him and kissed the side of your head. You closed your eyes taking in the feel of his lips on your temple and your left hand moving to his chest and your right on his waist. You open your eyes and cameras are shuttering and flashes are filling your vision.
After walking some more you and Shawn are pulled into an interview with AJ Gibson and Lauren Jauregui, you kind of smooth out your dress before the interview starts and Shawn takes hold of your hand after you are done fixing your dress.
"Hello, watchers at home Lauren and I are here with Shawn Mendes and his lovely wife Olivia Mendes!" AJ Gibson says to the camera and you both wave to it and say your hellos while holding mics.
"Well I must say it's so good to see you again Shawn it's been a while but I'm glad to be able to say hi and also see you both perform tonight, speaking of are either of you nervous about that?" Lauren says and then asks.
"Um I'm a little nervous because I'm still getting used to coming to these events with Shawn, but other than that I think I'm prepared and ready to kill it with my wonderful husband right beside me." You say and smile at Shawn.
"Yeah I'm a little nervous, but we've also performed this a couple of times so I'm not too worried, but yeah I'm ready to kill it on stage with my wife," Shawn says and pulls you into his side.
"Well we're both certainly excited to watch that performance also I must say you both look absolutely amazing, may I ask who you're both wearing tonight?" AJ asks you both after telling you how excited he was.
"I am wearing a Paul Smith suit with a teal and pink Marvell Von Berlin undershirt," Shawn says being a little happy he actually remembered the names Tiffany told him.
"He looks so good in the suit too, and I am wearing a Teuta Matoshi Dress and Violet Nubuck Purple Suede heels." You say and then tell them who your wearing and pulling the dress up to reveal your purple shoes.
"Well, you both certainly look fabulous. So, you're both nominated for Collaboration of the Year, and are also Grammy Nominated How does that feel?" Lauren asks the two of you.
"Oh I'm honored to be nominated tonight and alongside such great artists too, also I can't put into word how grateful and honored I feel to be nominated for a Grammy especially with my husband, he did most of the hard work." You say to Lauren and AJ and throw in the small joke at the end. They laugh along with you and Shawn.
"Well I'm also really honored to be nominated tonight and I'm grateful to be nominated again for the Grammy's it truly is an honor and I couldn't be happier to be nominated alongside my beautiful hardworking wife." He says answering the question like the pro he is.
"Who are you guys most excited to see perform tonight?" AJ asks you and Shawn.
"Oh, I'm excited to see Taylor Swift, Halsey, and Camila Cabello perform tonight for sure," Shawn answers quickly and excitedly.
"I'm excited to see Selena Gomez perform, she's one of my best friends and one of the reasons I met Shawn in the first place. She has been my biggest supporter for a long time and she's like a sister to me so I'm really happy to see her performing tonight." You tell them very passionately.
"I heard she was having a few nerves for her performance so your support will mean a lot to her. Have you seen her at all yet?" Lauren tells you and asks.
"Oh well I'll just have to find her and give her some encouragement, and no I haven't but I bet she's looking like the Goddess that she is." You say making everyone laugh.
"Well thank you both for stopping to talk, I hope you have a wonderful even and we'll see you inside once the show starts. Good luck and have fun." AJ and Lauren say to you both and letting go you continue down the carpet.
You walk the rest of the carpet with Shawn and enter the big building and find your seats after greeting a few other attending celebrities.
"Hey Shawn I'm gonna go find Selena and try to cheer her up or calm her down ok, I'll be back before she opens the show." You tell him sweetly.
"Ok well I'm gonna find a restroom and I'll meet you back here." He says and walks off in the direction of the bathrooms and you make your way backstage to find Selena.
You made your way right outside of the dressing room with her name on it ready to knock and surprise her when you hear a couple of voices telling her to breathe deeply in and out. You know in your heart and by instinct that she's having a panic attack that she has them normally because it's a side effect of her Lupus. You hurriedly knock on the door knowing you know how to stop her panic attacks.
The door opens and reveals her manager and you look past him and see Selena having trouble breathing. Her manager recognizes you and lets you past him and into the small room, you immediately go into help mode and ask her if you can touch her and hold her. She looks up at you and nods yes and you sit on the floor and scoot close to her and just hold her.
"Selena I need you to breath love, like
me," you say while taking a deep breath in and slowly exhaling. You do that a few more times before she's following your breathing pattern.
"Just like that, you're doing so well. Ok, now I need you to name five things you see in the room right now." You tell her kindly.
"I see my dress, the white walls, the mirror, my make up, and the lights on the mirror." She says with a shaky voice.
"Good now I need you to tell me
four things you can physically touch." You tell her trying to help her as best as you can.
"I can touch the floor, the chair, the dress, and your soft skin." She says her voice a little less shaky and more clear.
"Ok, now I need you to tell me three things you can hear right now." You say stroking your hands through her hair in a calming manner.
"I can hear the mumbled voices of everyone in the building, the fan blowing in the room, and my blood pumping." She says beginning to calm down a little bit.
"Ok, now two things you can smell." You say this time looking into her beautiful brown eyes.
"I can smell your perfume and mine." She says holding your hands in hers.
"Ok, now one thing you can taste." You tell her hoping this technique worked for her.
"I can taste the peppermint from the mint I just ate not too long ago." She says and you feel her heart rate slow to a normal speed.
"Selena look at me." You tell her sweetly and she does just that.
"You are so amazing and you have absolutely nothing to worry about, you are going to absolutely kill it out there on that stage tonight, and if something goes wrong it is not the end of the world or your career. You are a strong, talented, kind, loving, and beautiful goddess and you've got this 100%. You are allowed to feel anxious or nervous about things it doesn't make you weird or not normal, you're human and this is a nerve-wracking thing but I promise you right here and right now that no matter what happens tonight you'll always be amazing and I'm so damn proud of you and I will always be here for you and support you just as you have been for me. Shawn and I will always have your back and we will always love and support you. You've got this now let's get up and get you dressed and ready to perform ok." You say to her with so much passion and meaning behind each word.
Selena wipes her face and you help her stand up from the floor, you also tell her manager that you've got this and that he can leave to give her privacy.
"Have I told you that you look stunning tonight?" You ask her while smiling.
"No, you haven't." She says laughing
"Well you do and you killed the carpet, damn if I weren't married I'd be dating you by now because you're gorgeous and have a beautiful personality as well." You joked with her and she laughed her adorable laugh that you know oh so well.
She changed out of her dress and you helped her into her new performance outfits, first the sparkly leotard and then the beautiful black dress overtop of the leotard. You hug her and kiss her on the cheek before telling her to break a leg and that you love her so much.
She says thank you and that she loves you as well before making her way to the stage.
You quickly make your way back to your seat beside Shawn and sit down. You see that Camila and her guest are sitting on the same row as you guys, as well as Taylor Swift, Halsey, and reserved empty seats for Selena.
You take Shawn's hand in yours as the lights dim slowly. You feel yourself getting more and more excited to watch your best friend perform her newest singles.
The lights on the stage come up and your full attention is turned towards your glowing best friend. She is in her black dress and her hair is a little wavy, she begins singing her newest song "Lose You To Love Me." You are completely captivated by her and her beautiful vocals. She's almost done with the song and you're tearing up at how raw and emotional this song is, you're so proud of the woman that your best friend has become over the last few years.
She slowly walks up the steps on stage and sings the last lyrics out and the lights dim for a few seconds so she can have a wardrobe change (which is just the dancers pulling the black dress off of her.) The lights begin again and you're screaming so loud for her as she transitions from "Lose You To Love Me" to "Look At Her Now." Once she sings out you have been singing with her but dancing to the song and just having fun.
After her performance, you are screaming and clapping along with everyone else in the building. The host Ciara comes out and performs her song "Melanin" and welcomes everyone to the show.
Chadwick Boseman presents the first award of the night for Favorite Alternative Rick Artist, and Billie Eilish wins. You stand and clap along with her family and guests, and Taylor And Halsey. It's sad that not many people stood up for her or cheered her on, she's a 17-year-old girl who's just won an amazing award and that in itself should be celebrated.
Billie quickly exits the stage and does her thing, but when she's heading back to her seat she happened to walk by you, you kindly stop her and congratulate her on her win, and give her a nice hug. Ciara gives a quick rundown of who's up next to perform, which are Lizzo, Thomas Rhett, and you and Shawn.
Constance Wu is up to present the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Song. She reads the winning name after a small speech. Halsey won the award and you went absolutely bonkers for her and her win. You loved her music, her voice, her art, just everything about Halsey and how kind she had always been to you when you encountered her. Her winning speech was everything that everyone needed to hear tonight.
Tyra Banks comes out and introduces Lizzo and Lizzo begins performing her beautiful song "Jerome" and halfway through Lizzo's performance you and Shawn went backstage and got ready for your performance.
Kane Brown introduced Thomas Rhett and he performed "Look What God Gave Her."
You are in your dressing room and changing out of your dress into your performance outfit which is a beautiful red leotard type dress with a fringe skirt. You then met back up with Shawn and he's in a black shirt and vest, black skinny jeans, and his black boots.
You go and wait for your queue to find your spots on the stage. You stand further down the stage and Shawn is closer to the audience. Once the commercial break is over and the cameras are rolling you got in place while Ciara (The Host) introduces you and Shawn.
You begin singing the opening lyrics and you beckon Shawn over to you. You make your way to him and meet him halfway, and you and him do some sexy dance moves. About halfway through your performance your standing with your back to his front and he moves your hair from your neck giving him access to it, and he dips his head closer to your neck but doesn't do anything too sexual.

You move to stand facing him and you're both singing the final lyrics, and you take out your in-ears and Shawn does the same so you can hear each other singing the last few lyrics to each other. Once the song is over you and Shawn are centimeters apart and you lean in and give him a sweet kiss before quickly breaking it and saying a thank you to the crowd by waving at them quickly.
Shawn does the same and walking off stage with you and going back to your designated dressing rooms. You change back into your original green and purple dress. Shawn changed back into his purple and green suit and you both met back up again and walked back to your seats. Before you sat down Selena caught your attention and pulled you into a loving hug.
"Thank you so much for everything you did for me tonight it means the absolute world to me that I have you in my life as a best friend." She whispers in your ear so only you can hear it. You pull her back into a tight but loving hug.
"I'll always be here for whenever you need it, you're my best friend and I would do anything for you. I was happy to help you in any way I could tonight. I am so proud of you and the woman you've become and are today. I love you so much." You whisper to her and kiss her cheek before going to your seat which is a few down from where she's sitting.
Heidi Klum and Dan Levy present the award for Favorite Pop/Rock Album, and the award was won by Taylor Swift. It was her first award of the night and you stood and cheered for her because her music had been a huge part of your childhood and you just loved her. She went up and gave a small but meaningful speech and you could just see the excitement on her face.
After she gave her speech she walked off stage and on walked David Dobrik and Maddie Hasson to introduce Kesha and Big Freedia for their performance of "Rasing He'll" and a surprise performance of "TikTok." You went nuts as TikTok started playing and you danced with Shawn and just enjoyed yourself for the rest of the performance.
Next Paula Abdul came out and introduced the very lovely Toni Braxton who performed her very beautiful hit song "Unbreak My Heart." Toni Braxton was wearing the most beautiful white Lacey mermaid styled dress and she looked like a beautiful goddess. You sang along with her as did most people but you added a little more dramatic flair to your solo performance singing to Shawn making him laugh at your goofiness which put a smile on your face.
Up next Cobie Smulders (who is a good friend of yours through the marvel cast) and Michael Ealy presented the award for Favorite Country Album, which was won by Carrie Underwood. Yet another female artist that had shaped parts of your childhood and who you adored. They surprised her with her win for Favorite Female Country Artist, you cheer along with everyone else and waited for the next thing to happen.
Ciara gave another short rundown of who would be performing next. Tyler, the Creator came out and introduced Billie Eilish who performed "All The Good Girls Go To Hell." You loved every second of her performance and basically screamed every lyric out with her. You clapped and cheered so loud once she finished singing.
It was now time for the category for Collaboration of the Year, and it was presented by Jaimee Lee Curtis and Kathrine Langford. Your heartbeat got faster and faster and everything felt like it was in slow motion, and when they called yours and Shawns name as the winners your face told it all. You were shocked but also really excited. You were up against some great artists and didn't think you were really going to win so it was even more special to you.
You and Shawn stood up and hugged each other quickly and made your way onto the stage, Shawn held your hand and made sure you didn't fall up the steps because knowing you, you would do that. You got to the mic and Shawn let you talk first because he knew it was a little more special for you and he didn't have too much to say anyway. You lean down and quick talk into her mic.
"First, I would like to thank the fans and other artists of this category, you've gotten Shawn and me to where we are now so thank you so much for that, and to the other artists, you all worked incredibly hard and made some great music I love each of your songs so much it's an honor to share a category with all of you. Second, I would like to thank Shawn's family and Mine for always being supportive of us from the start thank you guys so much it means the world to us. Third, I'd like to thank my best friend Selena Gomez who has encouraged me to be brave and to always do what makes me happy, well love I'm doing just that. And Lastly, I'd like to thank the AMA's for not only having me but also having my very talented and kind husband. Thank you all so much this one is for you guys." You say quickly after accepting your AMA's Award.
"Exactly what she said, thank you to my mendesarmy you guys are my everything I love you all so much and to everyone else who voted, this is for you guys!" Shawn briefly says before you're both ushered off the stage
You were escorted off the stage and to a little photography strip so you could have pictures with your award. You and Shawn took some beautiful pictures and then you decided to do some funny/silly ones because "why not?" You pretended to stab him with the pointy end of the award and he kinda went along with it making you laugh. He then kissed your forehead and you proceeded back to your seats.
On your way back to your seats you were stopped and hugged by Taylor and Halsey. They congratulated you, kissed your cheek, and hugged you before you told them you loved them both so much and went to sit back down with Shawn. The next award for New Artist of the Year was presented by Taran Killam and Jameela Jamil, and it was awarded to Billie Eilish. You stood up and cheered for the young girl because this was her second win of the night and you were so happy for her.
She gave a sweet speech and quickly exited the stage and this time she hugged you and thanked you for cheering her on all night. She went back to her seat and you were chilling and having a good time. Patrick Schwarzenegger and Jenna Dewan came onstage and introduced Halsey.
You were looking forward to her performance of "Graveyard" because it's a beautiful song and she's one of your all-time favorite singers. She had a beautiful setup and painted while she was performing and it was all around beautiful and fun.
After that Ciara gave another rundown and Billie introduced Green Day for their performance.
Next up was Maya Hawke and Dan+Shay to present for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop
Album. The video displayed all the artists and they read off the winning name. Post Malone won with his album "Hollywood's Bleeding." You cheered so loud because you just love his music and were really happy for him.
After that Billy Porter came up and introduced Camila Cabello who performed "Living Proof." Her performance was so beautiful her and all the dancers were in white lace outfits and you adored it. She sang so beautifully and looks even more beautiful. It was so fun to watch her just have fun.
Ciara then introduced the Jonas Brothers who performed "Only Human" from their concert in Boston. You danced and sang along with them and just had fun.
Ciara briefly introduced Carole King who would then present the award for Artist of the Decade. Everyone already knew that it was awarded to Taylor Swift. She deserved all of it after the year she's had, but her music has impacted millions of people throughout the decade so it's very fitting that she won Artist of the Decade.
Carole King introduces Taylor Swift. The lights dimmed except for the stage, Taylor is now standing in a white jacket that has all of her previous album names such as; Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation, because those were all her masters but now do not belong to her. They were sold by Scott Borchetta to Scooter Braun at the beginning of July this year. She and her fans were all devastated and furious that they had done that to her.
She opened her performance with her song "The Man" from her newest album "Lover," then went right in with "Love Story" which she sang to Selena who has been her biggest supporter and best friend for years. Taylor then sang "I Knew You Were Trouble," and then went into "Blank Space," and proceeded with "Shake It Off" and had Camila and Halsey join her on stage and sing that one with her. You were dancing and singing at the top of your lungs to each song, you were just having the best time ever.
Taylor's finished her performance while sitting at a piano with all her album names on it too, she finished with "Lover" and it was all so beautiful and fun to watch and just be there for. You looked down the row and saw Selena in tears and that kinda set you off too start crying as well. You quickly walked over to Selena and just stood next to her while hugging her while you both cried in happiness for Taylor. You truly enjoyed every second of her performance and were so proud of the beautiful woman on stage accepting her award for Artist of the Decade.
Once Taylor exited the stage you stayed with Selena for a few more minutes so that you could congratulate Taylor when she came back to her seat by her parents. Jharrel Jerome and Megan Thee Stallion presented the award for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Song, which was awarded to Lil Nas X. You clapped along with everyone else.
Taylor finally made her way over to your and Selena and she hugged Selena first and that had their beautiful moment while you waited patiently for yours. Taylor let go of Selena and looked at you and smiled so brightly, you smile back as she pulled you into a wonderful hug. You pull out of the hug and look her in eyes and open your mouth to speak to her.
"I'm so proud and happy for you, you absolutely deserve this and so much more. What they've done to you and taken from you will never be what defines you. That is your music I know it, you know it, your fans know it, and everyone by now should know it. You are wonderful, amazing, talented, beautiful, loving, kind, and so extraordinary. Your music has been a huge part of me growing and finding out who I am so thank you for that, but it's also been a wonderful journey that I have the pleasure to join as well as your fans. I have loved watching you grow in your music and as an artist, so congratulations Taylor you truly do deserve this 100%." You tell her trying not completely break down and cry out of happiness and just being proud of her.
"Thank you so much, Olivia, your words mean everything to me, and so does your friendship. You truly are a light that shines so bright, when you walk in a room it brightens by your presence and I'm so happy to call you a friend. You've been so supportive of me during this hard and complicated time, you've encouraged me to keep going and to keep fighting, and that I have and will continue to do. Thank you for also publicly supporting me when I was desperate and didn't know what else to do it means everything to me. I love you so much, so so so much. You're one of my best friends and I wouldn't ever change that for the world." Taylor says to you while holding both your hands in hers and her kind words make you tear up. She wipes your tears and hugs you one last time before you have to head back to your seat next to Shawn.
"I watched that whole interaction and can I just wow, that was the sweetest and kindest thing I've ever seen. Olivia, I am so lucky to call you my wife and have you here with me. You are so so good and I'm so proud of the woman you are." Shawn whispers to you, you start crying again because of the kindness overload that you have just received from both Taylor and Shawn.
"Oh my god, kindness overload first Taylor, and now you. Who's next Selena? Oh lord, I won't be able to take it if she says something I'll just explode into more tears and it'll never stop." You say laughing while wiping your tears away and trying to not smear your makeup.
The next thing to happen was Carrie Underwood introduced Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World who performed their new song "Fall On Me" which you didn't care for this performance and just wanted it to be over with. You never really like Christina Aguilera or A Great Big World, but whatever.
Once they were done Rivers Cuomo and Pete Wentz introduced Post Malone who performed "Circles" and "Take What You Want From Me" with Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott. You loved both songs a lot but you're favorite is "Take What You Want From Me" and he killed that performance with Ozzy and Travis.
After the commercial break, Ciara introduced Dua Lipa who performed her new song "Don't Start Now." Her performance was fun, but you hadn't heard the song until now. It was good and you enjoyed it a lot, she's super cute but not one of your favorites but you did like her music.
Once her performance was over Misty Copeland and Ben Platt come out and presented the award for Favorite Country Song which went to Dan+Shay with "Speechless." You absolutely loved this song you played it at your wedding after your first dance with Shawn and he asked you to dance with him. The song gives you wonderful memories of your beautiful wedding and the happiness you felt that day. It made your heart swoon for your handsome husband next to you.
You cheered for them and took Shawn's hand in yours and brought it to your lips and kissed the back of it. He smiles at you and did the same thing telling you he knew exactly what you were thinking and that he was thinking the same thing. He then leaned down and kissed you sweetly but briefly.
Regina King made her way onstage to present the award for Artist of the Year. After the video of the nominees played she read the name out and it was Taylor. She won Artist of the Year and Decade tonight. You swear you screamed so loud you almost lost your voice. Before she made her way onto the stage she made sure to find Post Malone and she hugged him. It was very sweet and her speech was so beautiful and touching. That was the final award of the show tonight, but there was one more performance left.
Kelsea Ballerini one of your favorite country artists came on stage and introduced Shania Twain. Shania performed a medley of songs as well. She started with a mash-up of "Rockstar," "Stressed Out," "Shake It Off," and "God's Plan." Then she did a medley of her most popular songs such as; "You're Still The One," "Any Man Of Mine," "That Don't Impress Me Much," and lastly "Man, I Feel Like A Woman." It was a great performance but it certainly wasn't your favorite one of the night, no those go to Selena and Taylor.
The show comes to a close and you are super tired because you're pregnant, but you're just not showing yet but still being pregnant you get really tired easily especially after an entire award show. You haven't told anyone that you were pregnant yet but you didn't think you could make it to an after-party so you told Shawn to go ahead, but to be careful and to make it home safely, and that you were heading to the house here in L.A. (that he bought a while ago because he travels here a lot.)
You made it to the house and Jake walked you to the door and made sure you got in safely. He then took off to go watch Shawn and make sure he's ok for the night. You immediately took your shoes off and picked them up and walked to your shared room. You changed out of your dress and into a white bra, crop top camisole, Calvin Klein sweat pants, and some socks. You put your dress in the black dress bag and hung it up to your dress in the closet, you put your shoes in their box and laid them on the floor in the closet.
You then went into the bathroom and removed your make up and washed your face, you did your facial routine and then took your hair down and let your curls fall into an untamed manner. You then went around the house and made sure all but one light was on and then made your way back to your room and turned the main bedroom light off. You crawled in the bed and turned the bedside lamp off and shortly fell asleep soundly.
After about two hours later you feel the bed dip on the opposite side of you and you smiled knowing it was your wonderful husband by the smell of his cologne still on skin. Shawn snuggled up to you and pulled your body closer to his and wrapped one arm around your waist and he quickly joined you in a dreamless sleep state.
