so i’m showing my sister a bunch of hayley kiyoko music videos, right? If you’re familiar with her work, you know that it consists of things SHE is familiar with. Which is what any artist does, they put THEIR feelings, experiences, etc in their own work and art. So after four videos, my sister asks “are all her songs about lesbians?” and I said, in a very chill voice (I swear I wasn’t hostile at all, on daddy) “are all of trey songz songs about straight people?” and she got so mad and defensive and rowdy. Like girl relax. So I said “Chill, I just want you to know what you sound like.” and she responds even more aggressively saying “no, it’s different, he’s just making love songs” and I just cut her off and walked away cause I don’t have time for this type of ignorance in my life.
