Maybe it's because I didn't drink a lot when I turned 21, or maybe it's the Get Off My Lawn in me, but when I read my feeds about how much fun people are having being drunk, and then reading their subsequent "I'm never drinking again" posts the next morning, I just never understood the point of it all.
Gonna start riding into work this week. Via a company bike. This will be hilarious. I'll start documenting it via GoPro. My first time on the bike, my commute, and if I get proficient, maybe tips.
Riff - "If You're Serious" I thought this video wasn't on YouTube. Good to know I was wrong.
Today marks eight years since I started this tumblr.
I will commemorate this by posting up Kobe Bryant’s eight bars of genius. hahah
Brian McKnight - Hold Me (remix)
Yup.
I still think that the original version of the song was a little better than the Monica cover.
RIP B.I.G.
the amerie remix will be ten years old, this june. i honestly forget about it often; i’d always wanted to get past it, i tried very hard to not let it define me – in the process almost denying its existence and its reach. people would always email me about it and tell me how much they enjoyed it. a few years later, like when it had settled and done the blog rounds, i received two separate letters from two diff dudes asking me if i could dj their wedding, and that they’d be playing this song some time during – one of em was like, ‘it’s my first dance song. i met my fiancé around the time i was listening to it a lot, and i was going through some hardships’, and i’m just like, floored.
that’s always been a major interest of mine, memory and music. a track can live on forever and affect people in a multitude of mysterious, unique ways, and still be a shared experience. i love it. i love it a lot. if you’ve got a story about when you first heard it, please tell me. i’d love to hear it. you can dm me here on tumblr or email me.
I don't have too much of a story other than I wouldn't have heard of Nujabes had it not been for your remix. Keep doing your thing, man.
Ed Sheeran x John Mayer - Thinking On The World To Change
I haven't found a good Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On mashup yet, so this works.
Turning 34 later this year and in the past two months I have (possibly on more than one occasion):
- noted to numerous friends that I don’t drink alcohol when they offer me some. I just made a choice to not drink a long time ago and I’ve stuck with it. - purposely avoided music made after 2002. - had my wife help build a budget for us. - blatantly judged a lot of people from first glances and felt really bad about it.
I really have no idea what my age is.
Hope to make this a little more frequent. More links to music from youtube and maybe random bits of text. Sup.
