The name's March.

I'm here because Adeline, Mistria's acting leader, gave me this piece of tech from the capital. Apparently, an inventor prototyped a slab of glass that uses the energy in a monster core to let people talk over long distances. But you'd know all about that, wouldn't you? Since I'm not the only one here, it looks like this thing hit every other city on the continent before anybody thought to send some to Mistria.

That's fine. We've been getting along well enough without this tech so far. I don't see what the big deal is now that we have it. Adeline got two, and out of everyone in town decided to give me the second one. I have a feeling I know who was behind that.

Whatever. As long as I have this, I might as well put it to good use. You read the title. Send me a message if you want to commission something, or ask me a question about my work. I'm not here to play around.

I mean, combined with the rest of his wording I think it's just an indication of how stressed out he is, but still... saying that on a public board kinda hurts.))

((I play Grimshire, which is a farming sim with stakes. You need to grow enough food to feed the town, or people will die. It does have difficulty settings, though, if you want a more chill experience. I like the sense of urgency; it just adds a whole new dimension to the game. Plus, everyone is an anthropomorphic animal, including you. You get to choose what sort of animal you play as, and your choice affects gameplay!!! How cool is that?))

((I've started Stardew Valley but it hasn't really stuck with me yet. I think I need to play more to get into the groove, but it's hard to make myself spend my free time on that when there are other games I'm already fixated on.))

((I really adore mean characters. I don't know what it is about them, they're just super interesting to me. If Gray is like March then there's pretty much no doubt I'd like them 🤭))

((I met with a family friend a while ago who's really into blacksmithing. He makes some really beautiful stuff. Unfortunately the only thing I could think of the whole time was "March moment. March moment. Huuuuuge March moment"))

sometimes I genuinely forget that March was an asshole at the start of the game and get so confused when people mention it, like my idiot self just forgets because he's such a little sweetheart later on. like how is that the same guy

My "ideal future"?

I'm not going to leave Mistria, if that's what you're asking. I'm going to keep this forge going for as long as I can. If people want my expert craftsmanship, they'll just have to find a way to come here.

I guess it'd be nice if we could finish up the earthquake repairs. I want a chance to really show the world what I can do. I can't make anything like that if I'm stuck making nails all day.

Hello master blacksmith. Do you normally say yes to anyone in town to who invites you to hangout privately, like with the farmer during the shooting star festival? Did you agree because it's the farmer? Or would you also agree to go if it was anyone else in town who asked you? I was thinking you would since you seem to care about the town and its people so much.

I don't need to think about if I would go with anybody else because no one else would ever ask me. People in Mistria actually know what the shooting star festival means. Ari's only been here for a little while. They just don't get it.

But sure. I'd spend time with someone privately if they asked me to. Under any other circumstances.

What was your day mining with Olric like? Did you enjoy it?

It was fine. I wouldn't have traded jobs with him, but I didn't hate it. At least going down there really showed me how hard Olric works.

I have. He's been keeping score. We're pretty evenly matched. I'm going to pull ahead this summer, though.

I heard the Sleeping Dragon Inn's under consideration for a Mistrian star?! Congrats, that's big for the town. What are the best things on its menu?

It's Aldarian Star. Reina's been talking about it.

The best thing on the menu is the red snapper sushi. Reina does a good job of preparing it properly. Second best is the pan fried bream. If you don't like fish, the mushroom steak dinner is pretty good, too.

I'm the reason they know anything about blacksmithing at all. Without me they wouldn't even know where to start.

I didn't do it to "woo" them, by the way. I did it because Adeline and I agreed it was the best thing to do for Mistria. They were called here to improve the town... what use is someone like that if they can't even make a proper ingot?

My dad suggested it. He wanted to name me after a spring month, and he couldn't really name his son May, now could he? Mom thought it sounded "expressive and industrious", whatever that means, so she agreed. I think she thought of it as having something to do with the idea of marching on or soldiering forward or something.

Personally, I'm fine with it. I guess it's hard to imagine people calling me anything else.

imo if you dont put the posts in the tag, how will people who dont know the blog exists and might want to interact be able to see it? I use the tags more than i use my main feed for tumblr so I dont mind, myself. You tag everything well enough so that if people don't want to see it, they can filter and block tags, or even just block the blog if theyre that het up about it. Many of the tags im in are full of various askblogs and I've never seen an issue with it myself. But of course I'm just one guy, just wanted to throw my two cents in!
