8x20 | Pac-Man Fever
Rubbing a hand across his eyes, Jay pulled out a locked case from his rucksack; putting it on the small table in a hidden corner of the attic and pulling out his keychain (with Hanna's charm restored to it) and selecting a small key to open the case. Raising the lid, Jay gave himself a small nod at the condition of the case's contents with a cursory glance.Â
The dismantled colt sat harmlessly amidst the foam like substance used to line the case. it's silver body glinting in the artificial light, showing it's maintained condition. Running a hand across the slide, Jay took in the weapon with consideration at what he was attempting. He'd been researching the possibility of mortals being able to vanquish demons without magical assistance for just over a year now; his trip to New Orleans would have been another part to his research - but the time shift had halted things.
Tapping his finger lightly against the silver body, Jay stiffened at a creak of the floorboard; his hands immediately going to lock the case, as the natural light was blocked by the newcomver to the attic. "It's legal," was all he offered, in reference to the gun the other would have seen.

lesbiantamâ:
Tam heaved out a long sigh of relief. âFinally,â she thought aloud, âA chance to relax.â She had just parked her car at the grocery store not too far from her home. As she made her way inside, she checked over her list again. Tam was determined not to forget anything for her peaceful weekend that would be spent entirely at home, in her pajamas, and alone.
She was wandering around the baking aisle when she stopped dead in her tracks. Someone was watching her. No, not just watching her. Following her. It was a familiar feeling, one that made the hair on her neck stand at attention. âOh, shit.â

Jay raised an eyebrow at the box in his hand. Hanna  ad gone onto another baking binge and Jay had offered to pick up a few things for her from the store. Since he'd been rescued from Lilith, he'd noted that a few of the others had been almost walking on eggshells around him and it was driving him nuts - so he'd decided to make a break for it.Â
He had planned on asking Mia if she wanted to go on an apartment hunt with him. The manor was crowded enough as it was, and with more people seeming still popping up - he knew there would be a point something would have to give. It would also allow him to let Mia in on what he'd been working on before they'd both landed here. The rucksack that had been with him was  safely stored away; the other residents of the manor none the wiser of the dismantled firearm and research that went with it.
Shaking his head, and putting the box into the cart, Jay had looked down at the list he'd been given when he'd heard the exclaimation. Looking up, the youngest (or currently older) Mitchell found himself face to face with  - "Tam?"
stupidcupidxhalliwellâ:
The younger Halliwell gave the male an eye roll before her features softened a little. âYeah well I feel like shit,â she grumbled back before pushing herself up into the bar stool, wincing again at the pain that seared through her ribs. âTylenolâs in the third cabinet,â she huffed. âDonât ask me why itâs there and not with the rest of the medicine cause I wondered the same thing myself.â
âYou saw her too,â she questioned, head tilting slightly in curiosity as a harsh, angry look crossed her features at the mention of their not-so-dead aunt. Her run in with Prue hadnât been fun even in the slightest. Her entire body ached because of the woman, though she had to admit she was impressed with her skills. âWhat happened to me,â she questioned again with a scoff. âAsk our not-so-dead aunt. I was trying to find you and she was tailing me. I cornered her in an alley and got a premonition of her taking you and if you donât think that I tried to put up a fight then you donât know me at all.â Parkerâs head shook for a moment as her eyes fell away from her cousin and landed on her bruised knuckles. âI couldnât fight back,â she huffed angrily. âShe was too damn strong for just mean. I mean she practically, and I mean this quite literally, threw me around like a God damn rag doll.â

"Thanks," he muttered, not even asking why the pills were in a weird place. He joined her sitting down, his own grimace coupled by a tingling sensation in his wrists from where he had been restrained; the red raw marks now no longer present. "She packs a punch," he agreed, thinking of his own encounter with the oldest Halliwell's telekinetic ability during her capture of him. "Yeah, she caught me by surprise." he admitted, with a hint of old feelings of self-loathing. "Couldn't do a thing to stop her." he added with one hand fisting at the thought.
"You think they found a way to resurrect her?" he asked, turning green eyes to his younger cousin. "Flipped her morality?" He remembered the look on the older witches face during Lilith's playtime; she had seemed almost confused when things were mentioned.

inthelightoffateâ:
It had been a few years since the elder had felt physical pain.  He couldnât say that he was taking to it graciously.  "Yes,â he said as he squeezed his eyes tightly. He was still awake and aware there on the carpet of the manor. The pain searing through him kept him from losing consciousness right now. He nodded swiftly when Jay said he had to get the arrow out and he knew that it wouldnât feel like a tickle to get it pulled out.  Still it hadnât to be done.  "Just pull out.â  He didnât want any warning.  Feeling that would just make it worse as he would tense up in anticipation of more pain.
-
Jay gave a grimace as he placed one hand on the man's abdomen (the shirt feeling saturated beneath his hand) and the other moved to gripped the arrow shaft. "Take a breathe," the human instructed, as  he watched the dark haired man for the motion before using the action of the other's shallow breath to pull the arrow out in one swift motion.
Throwing the arrow across the floor, Jay used his free hand to tug off the the over shirt he had packed up and used it to compress the wound now sluggishly bleeding in the arrow's wake. "Okay, worst part's over." he muttered. "Lets get you off the floor and I'll get some help."

âDamn...â Jay swore as he curled himself into as much as a ball as possible on the sofa in the attic; the rucksack he had been looking for dropped unceremoniously beside the seat as soon as the wave of pain caused his vision to white out, as he landed with a stumble into the cushions - his right arm and shoulder burning as he landed on his right side.
After the initial ache following his healing following Beckettâs save - Jay had only needed painkillers for the following day before feeling strong again. His sleep pattern had begun to even out again and he had started feeling more like himself enough to go in search of the rucksack he had travelled back with. He had planned taking a look through his notes to see if there was anything he need to cross check with the book.
But now, crippled by a fresh wave of pain from his shoulder and ribs, Jay was left gasping as the tightness in his chest he had felt after a particularly hard kick from Lilith returned. Breathing harshly, Jay blindly used his left hand to pull his cellphone sluggishly out of his Jean pocket and bring it to rest beside his head; his forehead was pressing into the cushion as he let out a pained groan as he fought to keep his breathing as steady as possible as his vision began to waver slightly.
Whatever was going on was magical, he was sure of it. Pain didnât just go away and come back - not after being completely healed by a whitelighter. Opening his phone onto messages, Jay shakily typed in a message before blindly sending it and dropping his hand back to his torso - hoping the person would arrive sooner rather than later. âI got so many kids coming up to me calling me uncle and dad, I donât even know how to keep my head straight.â Henry admits though he second thought that, telling one of his own kids his insecurities didnât seem like the most fatherly thing to do, though in ll honesty Henry knew very little about great fathers, some of his foster parents werenât the best. He clears his throat, âI ah donât even know who that is but Iâm sure its difficult for everyone right now.â He wasnât one to ignore that even those used to the magic and time travel wouldnât be turned upside down with everything going on. âIts actually nice to know that Iâm not the only one who feels lost in it all.â He admits.
Henry listened carefully as the younger man told him the story of his birth and what happened to his biological mother, a story that Henry will eventually experience over again when it actually takes place finally. âI can deal with me getting hurt, me being in the face of danger, I know that Paigeâs genes for the twins will have them able to protect themselves but yeah having a human kid around isâŠnerve wrecking. Listen, I donât want you to take this the wrong way, like I donât want to have you around. Cause Iâm sure youâre a great kid, I just wanted to give you the chance to say what you want before we even get there cause if you want something else now is the time to say something.â Henry would never want to turn the kid away, he knew first hand how terrible the foster system could be and wouldnât wish that on any kid. âA demon best friend, Christ. Thatâs something to get used to.â He replies rubbing the back of his neck, he hadnât heard much good from demons but he of course didnât know much about them. âYeah? I did? Thatâs good, makes me feel a little better that I didnât just cast you off in the magical world without protection.â
-
âIt is pretty overwhelming when you put it that way.â He admitted with a small nod in understanding. He offered the older man a small smile. âYouâll be meeting your Kat in a few months.â He shared, thinking of his motherâs current state of pregnancy.
Jay picked up the pill again, and rolled it over his palm with his fingers. While he knew the other man meant well, he couldnât help the slight stabbing ache in his chest at the others words. He nodded with eyes focused on his hands motion, remaining silent for a few moments.
âI donât... And I wouldnât change anything.â he answered after a while with quiet conviction; looking up to meet Henryâs eyes directly as if searching for any challenge at his answer. The good had always outweighed any bad that may have happened in the past. He knew that not having magic was a handicap in a magical family; but heâd found his own way of helping. It was what had gotten him on Lilithâs radar in the first place.
Before heâd been pulled back from â33 heâd started looking into something - something that, if plausible, could prove more useful to himself, his father and even Mia who didnât have powers of their own but who were just as open to demons because of who they were. He hadnât been back long enough before Lilith had ordered Prue to take him to consider picking up the research he had been carrying with him while being stuck in 2007. But maybe here was the perfect place to begin...
