true band kid love is my director sending me out on stage before everyone else for the concert last night bc i’m on crutches, and immediately everyone starts clapping and yelling shit like ‘HEY PEGGI’ and ‘SUCK TOES’ like wow i’m gonna miss these seniors fuck

being a marching artist and being injured is so hard to accept
i love marching and i want to do it forever but im stuck in crutches for three months because i was careless in middle school and never let a torn ligament heal properly

oh my god so the other day during rehearsal one of our percussionists was playing with this pencil during a short break and he ended up losing control of it and he flipped it and it landed PERFECTLY on a trombone player’s stand and everyone in the back half of the room lost it and was screaming and our bd had no clue what was going on
for any of you musicians who don’t hear it enough, i’m really proud of you
drumline culture is listening to the music between groups at a competition and all drumming the exact same rhythm at the same time

Complaining about band to non-band kids
Me: wow our music teacher scheduled like 8 extra practices over the next 2 weeks for jazz band I can’t believe this i don’t have the TIME
Non-band friend: he sounds like a jerk who expects too much and doesn’t have regard for your schedule
Me: excuse me?? I love my music teacher he is fantastic, who do you think you are, you don’t have the RIGHT TO say that, do you even knoe how much he does for this school, oh my god, he’s a professor at U of T, he is the BEST teacher in this SCHOOL BOARD
Update: he cancelled almost all of the extra practices anyways. What a great dude

honestly you wanna know what blows my mind? how much indoor has blown up. like our group is huge compared to last year
we had 7 people in pit last year and we had cut nobody, we started with 4 but a few people were brought in after bc like,,, that’s just not enough
we have 16 peopl this year, and had to cut like 6 or 7 people bc we just couldn’t come up with enough instruments or parts
our battery is huge too like there’s 30 of us in total i️ think?? jesus christ
my instructor: change your reed every one or two weeks
me, playing the same fucking reed for six months: cHanGE yOUr rEEd eVEry oNE oR tWO wEEks
uhm if i️ find a reed that plays well i’m playin on it till it like,,, dissolve or something tf you mean change it every one or two weeks
