OK, but let’s talk about how Julia swaggers up to Carmen to let her know she’s expecting to see her later when she drops off the treasures she’s recently stolen, has full trust in Carmen despite not knowing her whole story, and then Carmen gives her the actual literal clothes she’s wearing on her body to help her in a vitally important mission.

AND THEN, she lets Julia keep her signature outfit, drops off the stolen goods AND a dozen red roses at the door of her apartment! The implications: Carmen knows where Julia lives and will likely return for her coat and hat because Julia’s home is a safe place for her.

and Carmen keeps gifting her with stolen goods she can give back to their true owners, but the roses are the first gift she can keep for herself and explicitly signify romance.

In conclusion, they’re secret girlfriends. We won.
