The Black Dragon Brewer's Guild I really had no idea where this was going when I started. I only knew I wanted to fill the page. It began as a small stone structure on the left and spilled outward as I imagined the possibilities in the emptiness of the page. Here's the story I 'learned' along the way: In 1102, Anno Domini, Peter Bennett returns from the Crusades, plants fields of barley and builds a small stone house on the southern end of his ancestral property. In 1105, he takes Margery Brooker as a wife and enhances his home with a large two-storied expansion. On the eastern wall, he includes a curious arched window flanked by two columns, inspired from his travels in the Holy Land. By 1108, production of ale begins and as his family also grows, he adds “winter” rooms over a large cookery as well as workers’ dormitories and a cellar.
