Minor Korra Character Madness 2026 - A week of fan creation. (October 5th - October 9th, 2026)
Premise:
Do you love Korra? Of course you do, who doesn't. But what about that snappily designed background character they never gave a name? That mobster that shows up in a few episodes? Maybe a very cool, somewhat more plot-relevant character that didn't get as many appearances as you wish they did? If you love minor Korra characters, this is the fanweek for you!
Follow this blog for more updates and resources. Thank you for your interest.
Submissions can be added to our AO3 Collection by anyone with an AO3 account. For Tumblr, please tag @mkcmadness and use the hashtag #MKCM2026 so we can reblog and feature your works.
Can I cross-post my works to other platforms?
Absolutely! MCKM will not have any other cross-platform accounts besides the Tumblr and AO3 collection, but don't let this stop you from posting your event works wherever you want. If so, linking to the event is appreciated, but not required.
Do entries have to be in English? / 参赛作品必须使用英语吗?/¿Es necesario que las entradas están en inglés?
No. / 不. The event accounts may be using English exclusively but other languages are more than welcome, so long as the work is submitted correctly to any of the accounts or collections. No translation on your end is required.
Prompt voting will be open until May 20th, 2026. The top 10 prompts will be chosen for official event list. (Note: prompt use will still be optional for the event week.)

Very excited to see this event popping up! It sounds like so much fun 💚! I wanted to ask a quick question: If we write a story featuring a minor character paired with a main character, say Eska/Bolin, I presume this is accepted for the event?
Yes, absolutely!
I wasn't sure if I made that clear enough on our rules page, so thanks for asking so I can clarify!
So long as a minor character of some sort is featured in some way in your entry for MKCM, it will be accepted. That means ships and interactions with main characters are totally welcome!
MINOR KORRA CHARACTER MADNESS 2026 rules and guidelines.
Rules for MKCM 2026 will be simple and easy to follow. They are as follows:
This event is 18+. While many prompts and submissions may be Gen and non-explicit, the possibility for explicit material is wide open and not discouraged, and we would rather not have minors participating in an event that could host adult blogs and themes.
Any medium of fanwork is allowed. Fanart, fanfiction, essays, edits, et cetera, are all permitted!
Keep focus on minor and background characters, please! We know this is a very subjective metric, but besides characters that are obvious exceptions, like the main Korra Krew, this rule won't be enforced with strict scrutinization. As long as a minor character is a main focus in your fanwork, main characters are more than welcome to make a supporting appearance.
[Image ID: A line graph showing on one end minor characters like Skoochy, Zolt, and Eska, and on the other, Korra, Mako, and Asami. The minor characters have a picture of a Wolfbat's fangirl cheering underneath them, while the main characters have a picture of a Wolfbat's fangirl booing underneath them. End ID.]
Prompts not mandatory, but will be provided. For each of the five days of the event, 2 prompts will be given to use/choose from. Prompt suggestion and voting will commence far in advance of the start of the event.
