People upset about violence from rap music are focusing on the symptom instead of the root cause, because you wanna ban drill rap, but you don’t wanna ban income inequality. You wanna ban drill rap, but you don’t wanna ban mass incarceration. You wanna ban drill rap, but you don’t wanna ban failing schools. You wanna ban drill rap, but you don’t want to ban the things that lead to drill rap.

this focus on drill is no different than back in the day and the focus on gangsta rap. it's just another way to say that black people are somehow abnormal, rotten, broken, inferior, etc. mind you none of this people (INCLUDING THE NYC MAYOR) actually wants to tackle the issues that lead to the violent version of drill rap (there are different versions of the style; not all of it is violent). nyc has the most segregated school system in america with black and brown kids getting the worst schools, the worst textbooks, the worst tech, the worst buildings and the worst teachers, but drill rap is the problem foh. only racist, coons and/or clowns fall for this bullshit.
