But did they ask these babies their gender identity before killing them? What if they accidentally killed some men that had been born as girls?
To whom this applies: imagine being mad about this and also pro abortion
In all seriousness, if these fetuses were unwanted and not self-reliant, regardless of their sex, they were just parasites ,burdening the autonomy of the women (i e the real humans) who birthed them, what's the actual reason to care about this, if abortion is fine??
As someone from a country where this is incredibly common, this is 95% not the woman's choice. If anything, if a woman gives birth to a girl and insists on keeping the baby or refuses to abort the fetus as per the man's demand she will most probably be killed herself.
Because of sex-selective abortion being so ridiculously common that multiple places have barely any women left, sex-determination has been criminalised in these places, which is why these babies were carried to term before being murdered. If they had been aborted at the first chance of sex-determination they wouldn't have suffered because they wouldn't have had developed any pain receptors yet. This is where abortion would have SAVED these little girls, and a lack of medical intervention is what caused them possible exteme pain.
Women here are often not given the choice of whether they want to get pregnant. They are often not told the sex of their fetus and not given a say in whether they want to abort it or not. Once the woman gives birth to a male or two, she is not given a choice in whether she wants to get a hysterectomy or not and is forced to have one anyway. My OBGYN relatives have seen plenty of women who've come into their hospital with zero idea of why they're there and the husband telling them he has an appointment for a hysterectomy. Consent is not really a strong thing in India/Pakistan, and if the doctors refuse to perform the surgery, the woman will go back home and be killed by her husband and his family.
Nobody is talking about women being forced to abort their fetus being a good thing. The issue stems from women being forced to carry a child they do not want. In these cases women are forced to abort a fetus regardless of what they want and forced to carry however many children as the husband and his family want before being forced to get an unnecessary surgery without knowing what it entails. Do not bring up your bullshit politics in places it does not belong. Do not pretend to care about these babies or these women. Abortion is what would make their lives easier, even in this scenario.

Natalie Portman is the best example for how even if you're the "right kind" of Jewish, they'll hate you too.
I mean, the woman has spoken against the war and against the Israeli government millions of times, yet everyone in my notifications calls her a genocidal nazi just because she dared to be Jewish and born in Jerusalem.

Naturalist Joe Davis lays out next to the 32-foot-long ichthyosaur fossil that he accidentally discovered in February 2021.
Ichthyosaurs are ancient marine reptiles that lived during the Mesozoic Era. They date back to the Triassic period (around 245-200 million years ago) or the Jurassic period (around 200-145 million years ago).
this could all be BS cuz I saw living one just like the other day crawling along the street in Florida

is the movie amadeus (1984) big at all in post-soviet countries? or is there this sort of "oh, how silly, americans tried to adapt pushkin's story" feeling? was the amadeus play translated at all?
Absolutely! When you google literary analysis of Pushkin's Mozart and Salieri in Russian, the authors dedicate paragraphs to Amadeus and treat it like the same story, as if they don't realise that the different author wrote it. I wonder if they are even capable of analysing Pushkin's text without invoking Amadeus. The same happened with the fan video of the boomer rock star Valery Kipelov's song about Salieri's conversation with the devil - Pushkin-based text, but the video consists of bits and pieces from Amadeus. I saw a Russian review of the film Io Don Giovanni which was mostly about Amadeus and the author wrote that "it was more interesting to watch the rivalry between Mozart and Salieri than Lorenzo da Ponte's inner turmoil".
I skimmed through two Russian books about Salieri the murderer, one is by Gennady Smolin of the KGB, the second by Lev Gunin (likely of the KGB too), and in the absence of proof they both use Amadeus as evidence of Salieri's guilt because "artistic intuition".
I found out about Amadeus in university at the English class, watching that film was our homework. Never heard of the stage play before someone mentioned it in the review of the Amadeus 2025.
Thanks for the question anon, happy to talk about it!
