THE RUN DOWN
Zombies vs. Humans, Martin Methodist College. From 12PM October 27th, to October 29th, time unspecified.
Zombies identified by red bandannas, humans by blue. Humans may carry an unlimited, self-supplied supply of socks. Socks may be thrown at zombies to 'stun' them for 15 seconds. Zombies only have to tag a human to infect them. Dead hours are from 12AM to 8AM. Safe zones are buildings.
The following are my logs of play. 12PM. Game begins. I exited the Gault unharmed, saw no one. Got to the cafeteria, ran into a fellow human with a zombie just behind. Avoided, got to caf. From there I went and sat in Martin Hall, remained safe. Watched a few other zombies tag team people, but it was otherwise quiet.
Reached apartment unharmed, in for the night.
I heard reports from Upperman Residential that two humans were standing on the steps of Upperman, firing arrows with socks on the end at zombies to keep them away while humans entered and exited the hall. Others have taken PVC pipe with socks on the ends as double ended weapons.
Day 2. Exited apartment, reached cafeteria. There were zombies everywhere, even watched a few sneak out the caf after a human. I snuck out a spiral staircase to exit through the coffee shop. I ran into a friend, who was armed with two foam swords covered with socks. When I explained I'd have to cut through campus to get to work, he offered to escort me to his car and drive me at least off campus.
So I had a sock in one hand and his car keys in the other, we booked it out to his car in the Commuter Lot. Saw no zombies. Got to work unharmed. Left work, entered Colonial Hall. Could see zombies at a distant but was otherwise unharmed. As I passed Upperman three zombies exited the building but failed to notice me. I passed a guy with two tube socks being used like a ball and chain.
Zombie coming out of Johnston spotted me, met me on the sidewalk. I tagged her with a sock, and we kind of did a back and forth all the way up until I sprinted the last few yards to Martin Hall while she was stunned. It was a very narrow escape.
Unfortunately I had to head back to Colonial to turn in a time sheet. I acquired a mop stick minus the mop, with a sock on either end. I got as far as the gazebo ish area, making eye contact with a few zombies on the porch of the Abernathy house. At first they tried to sneak down, but eventually it ended up in a flat out run. On top of it were guys running from Johnston center.
It was over.
I am infected.
I took my place outside Johnston center, watching a library door and calling out to my fellows. Once I watched a human make a break for it, even sprinting through a neighboring yard to avoid the zombies. Probably the most amusing (and futile) was the young man who left the library and made a dive for a van, whose doors were open as staff unloaded tables and chairs.
Unfortunately for him the zombies decided that didn't count as a 'building' and mauled him.
As classes started, everything lulled. I moved to Martin Hall to watch there. Once, when the green was clear of zombies, I watched a guy sprint for his life - all the way from Upperman Haul to the Gault Fine Arts center. I've never seen someone move that fast in my life. He wasn't even being chased, but he sure wasn't risking it.
I got to be part of a tag team infection, and now I'm waiting. Classes let out soon. That's when all hell will break loose.
I forgot to mention this but at one point in a later crowd scene David had instructed us (random crowd people) to be sure to mumble and make general hubbub and he proceeded to demonstrate by going 'RABADDABLUH' and I asked if we were to make that exact sound
he said yes
mid scene 14 several of us all loudly go RABADDABLUH
everything halted, everyone lost it, and David made a point to never be so literal ever again

One more night!
UNTIL THE END OF THE WORLD
beautiful preshow photos with frothy and overdone
Measure for Measure opens tonight!
Unless we get rained out, the first two scenes take place outside the Church at the corner beside Colonial Hall! So get on over there, we open tonight at 7pm. If you can't make it, we're here until Saturday night! The show runs roughly two hours, with a ten minute intermission about eight o clock. This is a Martin Moment for those interested!
stage manager on radio to crew
SM: Hey, do you see that light switch that says 'do not turn off'?
C: Yes.
SM: Turn that off.
Margaret: Cats is the reason for all human suffering
So we're standing outside waiting to start a scene during rehearsal when this cop pulls up at the stop sign. Stops. Starts to go, stops. Backs up. Rolls down the window. He stares at one of our actors.
"Sir, are you voluntarily tied up?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, have a good rest of the day."
Just drives off. Wonderful.
david: don't look at me
B: like pizza sauce
B: breadstick sauce
W: marinara sauce?
B: SHUT UP
W: there's a name for that sauce
B: well there's a word for SHUT UP
david's mid notes and
David: CAN YOU PLEASE NOT
David: WE ARE TRYING TO WORK, WHY MUST YOU DRIVE YOUR MOTORCYCLE AROUND TOWN.
David:
David:
David: REALLY?
We got a fridge and it's kind of smashed in on the side.
E: Well it kind of fits, every one in here is damaged.
G: Well thanks.
W: Be honest - you're combing your hair with a fork don't even talk.
I was trying to get a picture of Barry and I accidentally got David being a sassmaster with a sword.
It's the first run through of the show minus our scripts and I feel like this somehow sums it up perfectly.
