One of several site visits to Zaha Hadid’s 1000 Museum with my #MDCollege architecture students. The digitally fabricated glass fiber–reinforced concrete panels arrived at the Port of Miami from Dubai. They were hung on the concrete columns up to level 15. From levels 15-62 they became the formwork for the remainder of the poured columns, integrating them with the structure.
Final day - They all did a great job, and we had lots of fun too! #MDCollege
Special thanks to Jenifer Howard of the Howard Design Group for critiquing my Architectural Communications class @ Miami Dade College.
My Miami Dade College Architectural Design I students presented their final projects with pride and enthusiasm. Their ideas about how to preserve the #CoconutGrovePlayhouse AND develop the surrounding site and neighborhood are very innovative!

Who do you call when you want the stories and memories embodied within a neighborhood, a street and a building to be passed down so that the spirit of a place can be kept alive for future generations?
When it comes to passing down #StoriesThatMatter to my #MDCollege architecture students about the early days of “Cocoanut Grove” — a.k.a. “Little Bahamas,” Kebo, Evangelist Street — the oldest residential street in all of Miami — and the buildings that define it, there is no better storyteller than Emmy Award-winning director, playwright, producer and Broadway performer — the amazing Cornelia Dozier, a.k.a. "Corky!"
What a treat it was to have South Florida's most experienced preservation architect, Richard Heisenbottle, lead my #MDCollege Architectural Design students on a two hour tour of one of Miami's most important historic sites!
