Boys Goodnites XXL Full Review
Heyo! I already posted my first impressions of the XXL size earlier, but now that I've used them for a few months I'd like to provide my thoughts in a more in depth format, especially for those within the weight limit who are considering these for bedwetting issues.
Personal Background: I'm a student in the 18-25 age bracket. Due to a variety of factors, I still wet the bed on a regular basis. Although I do not always utilize diapers/pull-ups at night, they are a convenient choice, especially when I'm away at college in order to minimize laundry while keeping things simple and discreet. I'm around 5'6" tall and weigh around 125 lbs. Waist size is ~27-28 inches.
Fit: I'm a smaller guy. On me, Goodnites XXL rise up to and partially cover my bellybutton in the front. The back waistband has no problem covering my butt with plenty of extra room to spare. If I pull them up…well, the sky's the limit. The side coverage is significantly improved compared to the XL size. Goodnites have always been comfortable to wear, and the XXL’s are no exception. Truth be told, I think the XXL size is a bit too large for me, but other than that I couldn't ask for a better fit.

Performance: Absorbency wise, I find that Goodnites XXL reliably contain my bedwetting without leaks. Compared to the XL size, they do seem moderately more reliable. While I've more or less always been within the weight range for the largest sizes of Goodnites, I still experienced the occasional leak in size XL. Since the XXL's have come out, I've worn them basically every night and have had only a handful of leaks. The XXL’s aren't any thicker than the XL's, but I think the extra surface area of the absorbent padding distributes wetness better, preventing one area from becoming overwhelmed too quickly.
Designs: The designs are alright. Boring, for sure, but not awful. I'm glad they kept the printed fly and gender-coded colors. I've never minded the basic designs on the largest sizes of Goodnites, which always made them feel more underwear-like without being excessively childish. I don't like that there's only one design for the XXL size. I’ve always felt this variation is important when I wear around friends/roommates, who could potentially catch a brief glimpse every so often. Having visually different patterns, especially along the waistband and top panels help maintain the illusion of a different garment overall between nights.
Discreetness: I find that Goodnites XXL are significantly less discreet than the old XL size. My immediate family is aware of my bedwetting, so this isn't a problem when I'm at home, but is a concern when I'm in my dorm. I think the main reason why I find them less stealthy is because I'm shrimpy. I went from ~15 lbs below the weight limit (XL) to being ~40 lbs below the weight limit (XXL). The extra rise and material makes them more reliable, but produces a much more noticeable outline and bulk, and I've had to adjust my pajama styles in order to compensate. Unlike the XL’s, the XXL's don't as easily stay hidden under clothing, and commonly peek above my pajamas, which is annoying. They are also louder and more crinkly, probably as a result of there being more material overall. I think most of these problems wouldn't be as noticeable on someone closer to the center or larger end of the weight range.
Final Thoughts: The most significant change for me between the XL and XXL size is psychological. With Goodnites XL, I could expect a great fit, but it always felt like I was using a product meant for someone slightly younger, which always was a source of hesitation for me. On the other hand, Goodnites XXL both fit great and feel like a product specifically intended for teenagers and young adults transitioning between youth and adult sizes. They're fantastic, definitely my go-to as far as bedwetting protection is concerned, and something I'd recommend to younger adults within the weight limit with similar needs to mine.
