Based from the book premise "Before the Coffee Gets Cold" where Satan visits a cafe that lets customers travel back in time, to ask you that one question he couldn't muster the courage to before you were sent back to the human realm.
a late one for Satan's birthday! i MIGHT continue this if come around to reading the next part of the book.
“You take care of yourself.”
Satan groans whenever he thinks about how those were his parting words to you before you left Devildom. Simple. Tame. They don’t even begin to express how much he wants to say. How could he, though? It wasn’t like he could pour his heart out with everyone else standing there, watching him or waiting for their turn.
Ever since you’ve left, he decided to go back to his favorite pastime of reading books. A pile of it is stacked next to his bed, and it feels bittersweet when he remembers these were books you picked out with him before you left. You both agreed to continue having small book discussions despite being a realm apart, so you each chose a book to read on your own time and talk about it over the phone afterwards. Just thinking about it makes him smile…
Dammit, focus!
Satan is here to read your book recommendations, not to daydream about you. He snaps out of it after that mental scolding. Settling back against his pillows, he flips open the first page, determined to dive into the story. He’s confident he can get this book finished within the week. But then, of course, that scene happens.
A romantic confession. The male lead professing his feelings before it’s too late, finally running to each other’s arms after denying themselves that love and then…
Ugh. is all Satan can think of as he loudly shuts the book in his hand. It hits too close to home. All he wanted was to escape his own feelings, to bury them in the pages of a book, but now he’s more aware of them than ever. The last thing he wants is to read about it and think about what could’ve been. He misses you more than he really thought he did.
----
Satan couldn’t pinpoint exactly when he started feeling this way about you. At first, he dismissed his constant questions about your whereabouts as harmless curiosity; just someone asking after a friend. Then when he has some good news, you’re the first person he wants to share it with. In days he’s feeling agitated, he sought your company because you magically have a way of calming him down.
It finally hit him when he was reading a romantic passage and the first one that came to mind wasn’t the characters in the story. It was you. He pictured how you’d smile, the way you’d laugh, the way you’d click your tongue when you’re deep in thought, and the warmth of your hand when you would lead him somewhere. Satan always read about love, but he never thought he’d experience it so soon.
He remembers how he threw the book across the room in a flustered rage when he realized just how much he truly likes you. The dent on the wall will always be a reminder of that day, but he likes to pretend it was a result of one of his rampages rather than his romantic revelations. Satan never found the strength to be honest about his feelings. He believed that he simply didn't deserve you, that you shouldn’t have to deal with his baggage. So he did what he does best, which is to hide them.
He thought it would be easy, given how he’s been masking his wrath to look calm and collected. If he could deal with his wrath, surely he could deal with these romantic fuzzy feelings.
Though when you spent the night in his room to hide from the other brothers, it really tested his limits.
It’s normal for you to hide from his needy siblings when you need a break, and Satan’s room is always the perfect sanctuary because no one would dare risk angering him by barging in unannounced. He was used to it, he’s always welcomed your presence after all. Now it all felt different. He just wanted to hold you in his arms and whisper soft nothings, but he bit his tongue instead and focused on keeping you company until you both fell asleep.
That night, lying next to you, something new dawned on him: Fear.
He woke up to find you right there beside him, and in that instant, he realized how easily he could lose everything. He hadn’t considered the possibility that you might not feel the same way. The yearning, the dread, it consumed him all at once. He longed to tell you the truth, but he feared that confessing his feelings would destroy what was already a perfect friendship in his eyes.
Thump! Thump!
Satan groaned as he bumps his forehead against the bookshelf, not caring if it would bruise afterwards. For the first time in a long time, he wasn’t sure of what to do. He prides himself in his intellect, always finding the logical solution to everything. But love isn’t logical. No matter how much he tried to convince himself that he doesn’t deserve you, he still found himself wanting to hold you in his arms.
Every time he pictured your smile in his head, the warmth he felt having you by his side that night, he was losing more and more of his composure. He hit head against the shelf harder than he intended, and the sound of fluttering pages stopped him in his tracks.
It’s a book he had tucked away, or rather, tried to squeeze in what little space was left on the shelves. He knelt down to pick it up, brushing the dust off the cover. The familiar weight of the book felt comforting. Satan remembers finishing this one a few months ago, and he opens the pages for the sake of that nostalgia. This book was one of the most heart thumping romance stories he's ever read, though he’s not sure if he’ll still feel the same effects given his current situation. Unless…
Maybe… this is it!
The book. This book. Satan’s eyes glimmer with hope as he stares at it, as if this was the key to all his problems. If he can take a page from the book and learn how to woo you with its methods, then maybe the chances of you returning those feelings would increase, right?! Why didn’t he think of this before?
With newfound determination, Satan pulled every romance novel from his shelves, flipping through pages and taking notes, determined to learn how to win your heart.
----
Satan couldn’t stomach reading your recommendations today. He sat on the couch, aimlessly flipping through the pages, until a sudden thought about the story pulled him to your room. A habit he must’ve developed over time. He raised his hand to knock on your door, then froze. The silence on the other side reminded him that you’re not here to answer it anymore.
His hand fell, and so did his mood.
That’s when he decided to set the book down and take a stroll outside. He hoped a change of scenery might clear his head. But it didn’t. He took you with him, everywhere. The café. The library. The book shop. That quiet alleyway with all the stray cats. Every street reminded him of the times he spent with you.
These were all his favorite places to visit when he wanted to pass the time, but Satan doesn’t feel like going to his usual spots tonight. Before, he would take you to his refuge after school to relax after a long day. Now, they don’t bring him the same solace as they did anymore. Is it because he’s alone now? He used to find comfort in his own solitude, until you filled it. Now it just feels so empty to be alone.
He hates to admit it, but he’s having a harder time adjusting to your absence than he thought. His brothers haven’t stopped whining since you left, loud in their grief, and Satan had to endure listening to them. He thought he was handling it better than everyone else, but here he is at night walking alone trying to forget the hollow ache in his chest. Not his best moment, but no one needs to know.
Instead of planning his evening, Satan decides to go wherever his feet would take him. The farther the better. The exhaustion eventually caught up to him when he stopped to rest. His legs are throbbing and his feet are practically begging for a break after he covered half of the city, all of this just to forget you for a moment. Did it work? Maybe a little.
Satan finds himself standing in front of an old cafe. A familiar one. It used to be a popular tourist attraction. He’s read an article about it before in a magazine he subscribed to. A rumored cafe that could take you back in time, it garnered a lot of attention from the public, drawing in people who wanted to see for themselves if it was true. Satan searched everywhere for reviews from those who actually tried it, and surprisingly it was hard to find any sort of answers. Most visitors complained about the overly complex rules, so a lot of customers weren’t really qualified and left as soon as they came. Whatever charm it once held had long since faded in the back of people’s mind, and the cafe is long forgotten by the public, save for the few patrons that frequent for the coffee.
He’s been here before, with you. It was the day you both picked out some books to read before you would return back to your realm. Both of you were carrying heavy novels, and you were the one who pointed at the cafe while walking down the quiet street, eager to finally rest your arms. Satan hadn’t even recognized it then, not until he stepped inside with you.
----
“A cafe that lets you travel back in time?”
Satan sat across from you, finally having that much needed break from carrying books. “Yeah, I’ve heard the rumors,” he said, voice low. “Can’t say if the time travel thing is real, though.” You stared at him in disbelief, how could he not mention something this important?
The café you entered was tucked away in a basement and felt smaller than you'd imagined. Intimate, almost secretive. It held only two tables and a pair of booths, clearly not designed to handle a crowd. Not that it needed to, there was hardly anyone else here. The only people here were a woman in a white dress reading a book, and a barista that seemed more surprised than welcoming to see that there were customers in the cafe.
Three antique clocks hung on the walls, each showing a different time, making it nearly impossible to tell which was accurate without checking your own watch. The decor looked outdated, save for the little renovations it must’ve had over the years. Its interior theme looked like it dates back to when people still used oil lamps. Luckily, it has proper modern lighting and electricity to run in this age. Everything else seems to have maintained its original look. It’s old, yet it held those charms. Almost as if this cafe is frozen in time.
There are definitely better cafe’s out there, that’s for sure. If Asmo was here, he would be out the door in seconds because there was absolutely no good lighting in this place for even a single aesthetic photo. Levi would have grumbled about the cell service, or the near lack of it at least.
The only reason you and Satan stayed was not for the coffee or the ambiance, just… curiosity.
You both sat at the farthest booth, away from the barista who was busy brewing your drinks. You leaned in over the table, motioning for Satan to lend you his ear. “Tell me more about their time travel. I’m kind of surprised no one is lining up for this.” The old you would have laughed at the idea of a cafe that lets you travel back in time. Though after everything you’ve experienced in Devildom, it doesn’t sound so far-fetched after all. The real question is why this place isn’t as popular as it should be.
“It used to have its time in the spotlight,” Satan replied, “but I haven’t read about anyone successfully being able to time travel because of the rules.”
“The rules?”
Satan nodded, leaning forward as well to whisper. “When customers heard the rules, they immediately lost interest. I guess it’s only fair for powerful magic, if it even exists.” Since there were no verified accounts from anyone successful in this escapade, time travel was nothing more but a rumor. Eventually, the cafe’s popularity faded, leaving only a handful of people who still remembered it. Satan is one of the few left.
You scooted closer to him in the booth, “What are they then?”
Satan tried to stop his beating heart when the distance between you grew smaller. He swore he could hear it pound in his ears. He swallowed hard, trying to remember everything he’d read about the rules at the top of his head. “Well, the first rule is that you can only meet people who’ve already visited the cafe. That’s probably the biggest letdown for most visitors.”
Many patrons, hoping to travel back in time for personal reasons, left the moment they heard that rule.
“Then there’s the fact that the present won’t change.”
“That’s kind of different from usual time traveling rules, isn’t it?” You said. You’ve consumed enough media about this topic and they all usually follow the same blueprint: change the past, risk altering the present. Almost every book and movie followed this sort of premise, so it was strange to hear that nothing ever changes.
Satan shrugged. “I guess that’s why it’s not popular.”
You can guess so many reasons why a lot of people wanted to go back in time. To meet someone again, to fix old mistakes, to do something differently. Those rules already made that impossible to do.
“The other rule was that you can only sit in one chair here,” Satan continued. “And you have to stay there for the whole duration of your time travel.”
Duration. That implied that there was a time limit. You can see why so many patrons lost interest. There were just too many rules and each one of them would give anyone a reason to give up on their hopes of time traveling. What was the point if you couldn’t meet anyone you wanted, couldn’t wander around, and were confined to a single seat with a ticking clock? People didn’t have that freedom that they thought they could have in time traveling. The magic of it is lost under so many restrictions.
You don’t seem to be too dejected after hearing these complex rules. Satan stifled a chuckle when he noticed your eyes darting around the cafe, trying to glimpse at where that special chair might be. Everything about this cafe seemed ordinary, nothing about it hints to that time traveling that Satan described.
“Do you ever think about traveling back in time? You seem oddly invested in this.” Satan inquired, curious if you would’ve been one of the people to line up for the experience.
You thought about it for a moment. You’ve read enough stories about how time traveling comes with great consequences, how it could alter the very fabric of reality with a single change. Though this one is different, and more confusing than necessary. Still, it’s interesting to hear that nothing would change the events of the present. “It would’ve been nice to see it for myself. If nothing changes the present, then there’s so many things I would’ve tried to do, conversations that I could have.”
Satan was curious what exactly would you have tried if it meant having no change to the present. He would’ve asked if he wasn’t so distracted staring at you while you were talking.
“What about you? Would you go back in time for anything?” you asked.
“Not really?”
“… oh?”
“Why is that so surprising to hear?” Satan asked with a grin.
You fiddled with the hem of your sleeves, trying to think of a way to phrase your words. “Well, you’re the type of demon who loves pursuing knowledge. I thought you might’ve been curious about this time travel thing.” You’ve lost count on how many times Satan unleashed a curse, on either himself or on the entire House of Lamentation, whenever he finds a book or an artifact. Clearly, dark and dangerous magic doesn’t concern him at all, so you assumed he might be a bit more interested in this particular phenomenon.
Satan thought it was cute how well you seemed to know him, especially when it came to his relentless pursuit of knowledge. “It’s not like I qualify for this cafe’s time traveling experience, but maybe someday. I’ll research more about this place next time and let you know what I find. Surely there’s someone out there who made it work.”
You smiled at his offer, almost a little excited about this. “You can tell me over the phone when I’m back home. Promise me that when you find anything, okay?” You said before giving the barista a polite ‘thank you’ for finally serving the drinks you both ordered.
Ah.
Satan almost forgot that this might be one of the last few moments of quality time he’ll have with you before you go back to the human realm. He swallowed hard before bringing the cup of coffee to his lips. “I promise.”
----
Satan almost forgot about that conversation he shared with you here, and coming back to this cafe was a reminder of it. It’s bittersweet.
Sitting at a different table this time, his eyes always drift to the booth where you sat. He still remembers your curious smile whenever you asked about the time travel, it’s a shame he couldn't find any more answers for you before you left. He almost feels bad that he couldn’t fulfill that promise he made since there’s no new information to relay. If there were answers, then it has definitely not made itself public.
Time travel, huh?
He sighs, his gaze falling to the half-empty coffee cup in front of him. Satan spent the whole day trying to forget the ache in his chest when it comes to you, but there he is, drowning in his feelings all over again. The feelings he could never seem to voice out loud no matter how good he is at articulating words. He doesn’t have Asmo’s alluring charms that can make anyone swoon. Instead, he only has his rage. He did his best to regulate his emotions, but they always seem to spill over the smallest things. And every time he remembers how his siblings relied on you to calm him down, he cringes.
Did you ever get tired of him? Of his wrath? Did you see his wrath as a burden? Those were questions running through his head, and each one unanswered left him feeling more insecure. Hell, he hates how he’s starting to act like Levi. Obsessing, Spiraling, Fixating on the same question: What would you have said if he confessed?
He’s been staring at the half-empty cup, mindlessly stirring the coffee with his teaspoon. He’s always wondered if he missed any signs that would’ve spelled out what you felt for him, but nothing comes to mind. It’s not that he hasn’t tried to make it clear for you, it’s quite the opposite.
Satan has tried so many methods to win you over, but something always gets in the way that it’s more of a spectacular mess than romantic as he hoped. Mammon crashed one of his carefully planned nights, stealing your attention. Levi opened a package meant for you, ruining his surprise. Lucifer called him away when he was trying to gather the courage to ask you out, and Satan nearly exploded with rage.
Not knowing the answer is killing him, but the thought of even asking you terrifies him even more. Opening his heart, be at his most vulnerable. What if things change? What if you reject him? If only there was a way to ask, without the risk…
Satan pauses mid-stir, and then it hits him. Time travel. The answers to his dilemma have been right in front of him all along. No matter what he does, it won’t change the fact that you’re going home to the human realm. Nothing in the present will change, right? But maybe, just maybe, he could use this opportunity to confess. To know, for once, what you might have said if he’d been more honest.
He pulls out his phone and opens the group chat he has with his brothers and types, ‘I won’t be home tonight. Don’t wait up.’
I haven’t been active because im on a job hunt and i really miss OBM ;-; i think about them daily and pretend they’re hyping me up for it

You’re luckier than most people without realizing it. While it may not be big lottery numbers that you’re winning, you still have the kind of fortune that’s convenient to you and it can make any demon envious. The brothers are beginning to see it when some of your luck is rubbing off on them.
MC here is always lucky when it’s convenient to them, but how lucky you want your own MC to be is up to you to imagine!
------------
Lucifer
Since he was in charge of watching over you, Lucifer was quicker to catch on to your luck than most. It’s mostly due to the situations you narrowly avoided. There was a time the house was peaceful, save for Levi and Mammon’s arguing, and you went out for a quick run to a store. Next thing Lucifer knew, the house was flooded five minutes later when the fight escalated.
He assumed that maybe the house was bad luck, but then again his brothers often quarrel like this so it’s quite the given. Though he noticed you’re always away from the scene of the crime. Food fights in the cafeteria, hell hounds on the loose at the park, potion cauldrons exploding… you were just either fortunate to be gone by the time they happened or you arrived by the time it’s over. That luck was keeping you safe.
Lucifer never gave it much thought since that saved him from worrying too much. But he does begin to understand it more when you came home from your little shopping trip and brought him back something. You brought out a vinyl record from its sleeve to show him, admitting you don’t understand or know the song but you found it from a garage sale on the way home so you got it for him when you were sure it’s not cursed.
“This… is a very rare find.” Lucifer stared at the vinyl you got him. It’s written in demonic language so you didn’t exactly know what it is, you just got it for Lucifer. He explains to you that this vinyl record was lost after people who listened to it went insane, and he’s been searching for a copy for so long. There’s a smile on his face as he pats your head before he goes to his room to listen to it. He wished he could bring you along, but he knows the effect it has on human ears.
Lucifer is not the type to leech off your luck, but he does have a good idea on who might benefit from it. The last thing he needs is those brothers of his making schemes and getting into more trouble. He’ll keep the fact you’re a little lucky charm to himself for as long as he can, but he can’t help but add a little four-leaf clover emoji next to your contact name though.
Mammon
Mammon is the first out of everyone to notice your luck. It started when you were tasked by Lucifer to drag him back from the casino so that he could finally do his chores back at home. You know well that he’s hiding in the casino to indulge in his sin and to run away from his responsibilities.
He’s quite miserable after getting his third loss of the night. He was finally getting back his earnings but blew it all away when he got too confident over his bet. You saw him sulking as he watched the wheel spin, and you pet him on the back to cheer him up. The moment you did that, Mammon saw that he got a win that got him back everything he lost and more.
“Ya got quite the lucky streak, dontcha? Gotta bring you to the casino some time!” Mammon would always tussle your hair before he would go make a bet, a habit he developed because he believed his chances of winning would be better if he did that. Most of the time it works at least.
He once took you to a horse race to place a bet. He questioned your choice of bet and placed his cards on a different rider with a better record, and yet you were the one who went home with winnings in the end when the one you chose made an unexpected run to first place. Mammon never doubted you ever since, and he would often ask you for your opinions when he wanted to place a bet afterwards.
Mammon loves those moments when he sees you happy over your luck. The sparkle in your eye when you get something from scratch cards, or how you try to hide your grin when you get a good deck in card games. If he ever gets money from mooching off your luck, he automatically uses it to treat you to something nice.
Levi
Levi is the second to notice your luck the more he gets to hang out with you. He didn’t see it at first since he hardly goes out of his room, but he ends up realizing it on his own way when that fortune starts to bleed into his interests like games.
Of course, he has a collection of gacha games on his phone where he’s determined to get his favorite characters from every banner. There was a time he asked you to pull for him and he was surprised you got the rare card immediately. He didn’t think about it much at the time and just assumed it to be beginner's luck, but he made it a habit of coming over to you whenever he wanted to pull for a banner.
Eventually he notices your lucky streak when he takes you to the arcade. You had your eyes set on a prize but needed a certain number of tickets. Levi was prepared to spend hours with you to get all the tickets you needed for it, but you managed to get it in the first hour when you won jackpot prizes that had tickets pouring streams out of the machine.
“This is kind of like the scene from the anime I watched, it’s called ‘The Main Protagonist Is Always Lucky’ and they–... Hey wait a minute.” You could see the gears in his head turning as he processed his interactions with you. There’s no way everything that happened up to now was just a coincidence, can it? “C-come with me for a moment!”
He tested your luck by taking you to the gachapon machines at the side of the arcade, watching as you got the little toy you were aiming for. Everything began to click to Levi and ever since then, he always makes sure to bring you along whenever he needs your luck for games. Levi always talks about increased odds whenever he’s with you after all.
Satan
Satan is the one suspicious about your luck when he started seeing the signs. At first he gave it the benefit of the doubt, that maybe everything that’s happening has been some sort of pure coincidence. So it does take some time for him to believe that fortune just favors you until he finally sees it for himself.
He usually likes to sit next to you in class, so he saw how you were struggling in that one quiz. It's multiple choice so it was fine, but you were nervous about getting a lecture from Lucifer if you flunked this test. You ran out of time and Satan saw you just jot down random answers on the last page before passing the paper.
The surprise on his face was priceless when he saw that every answer he saw you guessed on a whim was actually correct. Perhaps you’re just luckier than most? Does it have anything to do with your celestial heritage? No, he doubts that since Simeon and Luke aren’t as lucky as you are. The best thing to do is to experiment.
“They say there’s a secret alleyway where cats often like to hang around here, but I’ve never had the chance to stumble upon it. How about we take a stroll and see if we’re lucky?” Of course, his plan was to let you lead the way instead. Regardless if you found it or not, at least he spent some time with you. But of course, you do find a passage behind some old boxes and the whole place was filled to the brim with cats! He owes you his life.
Satan doesn’t really have much use for your luck, he’s already fascinated watching it all unfold before his eyes while you remain clueless about it. Though he does get you a little lucky cat statue, since it reminds him of you and he wanted to give you something as thanks for helping him the other day.
Asmo
Asmo doesn’t normally pay attention to luck that happens around you because he used to attribute luck to himself. He once whined when he was planning to go outside to take pictures on a new park attraction but it started to rain, the last thing he wants is to ruin his make up. But when you claimed you were going out to buy something for potions class, suddenly the rain stopped.
“Lady luck must really be looking at me!” He always says. Maybe his dazzling beauty attracted some lucky spirits to his favor, it’s what he wants to think at least. He thought the rain stopped for him. But in reality, this sort of luck only happened around your presence and it took him a while for him to notice it.
While he scrolled through Devilgram, he saw you as one of the lucky raffle winners of a designer bag he’s been eyeing on. He’s been talking about it with you for days about how he wished he’d be the one chosen, but to his surprise it was you instead! That’s when he began to think back at his interactions with you.
Asmo realized that every time you needed something by the mall, there’s always a sale. It’s convenient to you whenever you’re low on grim. School supplies, clothes, shoes, or anything that you absolutely need you’re guaranteed to find at low costs in malls or stores.
Once he pieced two and two together, he loves bringing you along to the malls or involving you in any raffles he finds online. While it’s not always a guarantee, you do get a few freebies from time to time. Free lipstick samples, perfume, or skin care products; and Asmo is ready to try them all out on you later once you both get home.
Beel
Beel is likely the one who won’t notice your luck at first. He likes to hang out with you so much but he doesn’t really pay attention to the blessings and miracles that happen around you. To him, they were all some coincidences somehow and he’s happy you get good things.
There was a time when Beel was walking with you back from RAD. You talked about how you wanted something to eat, but you didn’t have any money. That’s when Beel spotted a hundred dollar bill on the ground. He didn’t really question it, he just knelt down and took it with him so you both could buy some snacks with it on the way home.
Eventually he began to take notice of it the longer he spent time with you. You get discount coupons to his favorite burger joint, there’s always a free sample aisle whenever he takes you grocery shopping, and the cafeteria just has your favorite meal served for the day whenever you say you’re craving it.
It’s probably Satan that spelled it out for him that you’re just favored with luck that only Mammon could ever dream of. Beel finally saw it when you were lining up to buy a drink and the server announced you for being their lucky 666th customer, earning a free large devil smoothie. What were the odds that you were just in the right place, at the right time? You just talked about craving for that drink in particular too.
“What do you think they’ll be serving in the cafeteria later?” He would ask you every time it’s almost lunch. He loves hearing about your preferences, and secretly he does wish that your cravings align with his. But Beel is definitely very happy to eat anything, and he likes the smile on your face whenever you see what you wanted served later on.
Belphie
Belphie is likely the last to notice your lucky streak because he’s usually asleep when it happens, or he hardly goes outside to witness it. Beel may say a thing or two about those incidents, like how he finds it funny you get what you’re craving for in the cafeteria when you want it, and Belphie may brush it off at first as mere coincidences.
Though after several accounts from his older brother, he does stay up a bit more just to see if what they’re saying is really true. Lucky raffles, good gacha rolls, free samples, it all stopped making sense for Belphie the more he heard about it. When he’s dedicated, he pushes himself to stay up as long as his body would allow it.
He finally understood it when you were cramming a small project for class. Given how hectic your days always are with these brothers, you lost track of time and you’re sure you’re not going to get this done in time tomorrow. You wished that the classes could be suspended or you get an extended deadline.
Belphie looked more surprised than you were when there was an announcement that the deadline will be moved next week after a leak flooded the classroom you were supposed to present. “Hm… that means we have more time to sleep then,” He has this devious grin on his face, though you’re intent to finish the project now.
He realized that having you around increases his chances of a successful prank on Lucifer, though you’re the only one who escapes Lucifer’s punishments when he realizes who did it. Belphie does love to be a little mischievous with his luck, but he would rather your luck rub off on his twin during Fangol games, asking you to cheer Beel on and the demon always comes back with a win.
What if MC doesn’t take pain medicine and tries to tough it out? The demon bros would probably panic a bit
Some painkillers do the opposite and add pain for me. Very not good.
I will do everything in my power to not get injured or fall on the ground. This gets thrown out the window at times. An Example of this: I got multiple fire ant bites/stings cause I was in flip flops and brushing the ants off of someone else that was in shoes. They didn’t get a single bite/sting and I triple checked. (I have a personal vendetta against fire ants)
Sorry if this is too long
Have a wonderful day/night :)
omg i pray you never have to experience another fire ant bite… that sounds so painful. Thank you for sharing this though!! I hope you don’t mind me taking inspo from those fire ants for this brain rot “=3=)
Given that a lot of things in Devildom that’s normal for demons yet lethal for humans exist almost everywhere, it’s only natural how the brothers could be so protective of you. Unfortunately, it’s impossible to protect you from every single thing that could hurt you.
Maybe it’s a poor judgment of your pain tolerance, or you’re tired of being this weak feeble human that those demons make you turn out to be that led you here. There was a time you were taking pictures of the lake with Luke and got bitten by an insect hidden in the grass you were standing on. You had to reassure Luke it was fine since it’s not the first time you’ve got insect bites before, but you completely forgot that this was an insect from Devildom.
It started as a dull ache as you dropped Luke off from Purgatory hall, but it gradually became worse when you were almost back home. However, the pain was already bad enough that you needed to sit down by the front porch to check on your leg. There’s a bit of swelling and redness around the bite which didn’t look too good, though you just covered it up with your pants because you thought maybe if you wash it off with some soap it would take away the discomfort. The struggle was getting to the bathroom without anyone noticing, but you made it with much difficulty and tried to disinfect it as best as you can.
Unfortunately, the pain did not disappear as you hoped. You groaned when Lucifer called you to go for dinner and immediately hissed from the pain as soon as you moved your leg. It’s been an hour since you washed that bite and the swelling didn’t get better at all. This will be fine, you thought as you tried to take little steps to make it to the dining table.
One, two, three… six… and you tripped by your tenth step. Barely halfway out of the room.
The loud thud was enough to alert the brothers as you heard several hurried footsteps before they barged into your room with worried looks. You’re on the floor looking like you’re in so much pain, of course they’d start acting all frantic. When you tried to stand, you wobbled and Beel was the one that grabbed onto you before you could fall again. “Hold on,” He said before effortlessly carrying you in his arms.
Beel placed you back on the bed carefully, and Satan is the one that rolled up your pants to inspect your leg when he noticed your struggle to stand. Wide eyes and dropped jaws can be seen on each of their faces when they see the red rashes on your skin.
“D-darling, were you bitten?” Asmo said while taking a step back, repulsed by how your skin looked like now. He acted like you’re contagious.
Belphie stared at your leg before hissing just at the mere sight of it. “Yeesh… I had that before when I slept in the forest. Stupid bugs… they got you too, huh?”
Lucifer just sighed as soon as you nodded your head yes. “Levi, go get the first aid kit. We have to disinfect this.” The purple haired demon immediately obeyed and left the room in haste, mumbling his anxieties under his breath about an anime he watched that was similar to what’s happening now.
The eldest stared at you in the eye and you couldn’t tell if he’s looking at you from disappointment or pity. “Later, we’re going to have a discussion about why you didn’t come to us sooner about this.” Some brothers agreed with him since this is quite the serious wound, and if your bad habit was toughing out the pain then they’re gonna have to fix that after they patch you up. “You’re in a lot of pain, I can tell. For now, let's get you some pain killers. We have some from the human realm by Solomon’s recommendations, it should be safe for you–” Lucifer gets cut off mid sentence when you grabbed his sleeve before he could stand.
You explained to them that you normally try to tough out injuries since painkillers don’t work for you. There are times they even make the pain worse when you try to block it out, so you’re quite used to dealing with it whenever you’re injured. It’s not a rare condition, it just happens to some humans where painkillers bring out an opposite effect and you don’t want to imagine the pain you’re feeling now to be even worse than this.
Of course the news is distressing to the brothers. Mammon couldn’t seem to wrap his head around what you’ve just explained, and it seems to even irritate him more. “W-whaddya mean it ‘makes it worse’?! That’s just stupid!” He growled as he ran a hand through his white hair out of frustration. “It ain’t doin’ its job. It’s literally in the name!”
Even Satan had this bitter expression on his face. “I’ve read so many books on pain relief medicine… only for them to not. work. at. ALL?!” You knew well enough that he was more upset about the situation than at you. Satan took many precautions for cases like these, but it didn’t occur to him that pain relievers do the opposite effect. He was angry at himself with how he wasn’t prepared enough. Satan means well, though that didn’t stop Asmo from taking Satan out of the room so he could calm down rather than make things worse.
This opened a new predicament for the brothers who realize you can’t exactly take regular pain killers, good thing they didn’t stock up on those as originally planned or it all would’ve gone to waste. Luckily there was a disinfectant from the first aid kit that could get rid of that awful bite.
You wanted to say you were relieved, but you spent the next hour answering every question they have about your ‘condition’, specifically if there’s anything else you’re allergic to that they should know. They settled with having Solomon over to cast a spell to heal you or numb the pain since that wouldn’t trigger any allergies. Though the sorcerer had to deal with the constant texts from Asmo or Satan who worry about you.
Solomon was happy to offer you a free alchemy lesson on crafting your own magical painkiller. Anything to get a good night’s sleep.
I’m not sure if you ever watched it but, a few years back there was a trend where someone put a dry piece of pasta in their mouth and asked the other person closest to them to crack their back, then when they do they crack the pasta in their mouth and go limp like they broke a bone!
Could you make that with Mc and Lucifer in the living room with all the brothers just in their as well? I wanna see your interpretation of their reactions!
It started out as an innocent little dare from Solomon during your little sleep over at Purgatory Hall. You’ve seen this trend before, where people would put a little dry piece of pasta inside their mouths and ask someone for help to stretch their back, and then crack the pasta as if they broke a bone. It’s a classic trend that you enjoyed, but you’re not really sure if it would come across the same way with the brothers. You were watching those videos with the residents at Purgatory hall so it was only natural that this sort of dare would come up. You had to do it since the alternative is that you’d have to let Solomon spoon feed you in public like couples do, which would’ve been fine except it’s his home made cooking. There was no way you would survive that… so the pasta trend it is!
You had a little camera hidden by the shelf when you pretended to grab something off it so you wouldn’t look suspicious. Everyone was in the living room busy doing their own thing. Levi was so engrossed in his game, Asmo was scrolling through his Devilgram, Satan was reading another cursed book, Mammon was checking the stocks and bets he placed, while the twins were just talking together. Hopefully they’d be too busy to notice the prank you’re dared to pull. In all honesty, you were curious on how Lucifer would react to such a prank since you’re sure this hasn’t been done in Devildom. There’s also this lingering dread when you think about any possible punishment if this went wrong.
You saw Lucifer walk in, and you took this opportunity by approaching him with the pasta in your mouth. “Hey Lucifer, could you do me a favor?” You asked, trying not to sound weird when you speak.
Lucifer turned to your direction, a brow raised. “Hm?”
You turned around and pointed at your spine, “Slept weird last night. Could you crack my back?”
It’s an odd request, but Lucifer obliged either way as he approached you. “Alright, come here,” arms were wrapped around your waist as he pulled you to help out with your back.
CRACK!
You bit the pasta just in time, but you couldn’t even fall limp like planned when you suddenly felt your feet get lifted off the ground. Lucifer is holding you up like a dog, the panic is evident in his wide eyes. “What was that…?” He warned you several times of a demon’s strength, he even told you about how a demon at full speed could kill you upon impact. Did he overestimate how fragile you are that he broke your spine? He hardly used any strength!
You heard Levi yell as he surprisingly saw what happened, and he scrambled to your side immediately. “L-L-LUCIFER WHAT DID YOU DO?! WAS THAT THEIR SPINE?!” You could swear he’s going to cry.
Mammon was faster though, and he grabbed you into his arms away from his older brother. “Are ya okay?! Shit, it’s probably in their insides or somethin’… OI, make room!” He barked at the twins as he carried you to sit on the couch.
“I don’t think you should move too much…” Beel looked afraid of touching you after he witnessed what Lucifer did, because if something as harmless as that could hurt you then he feels like he could snap your bones just by patting your back.
Belphie has this concerned look for you, then it became something sour as he scowled at Lucifer. “I never knew you could be this ruthless.” He hissed. Of course he would take this chance to insult his oldest sibling.
Satan came rushing to your side, sitting awfully close to you as he took a look at your back. “Where did it hurt?” He asked as his middle and pointer finger began tracing and feeling each vertebrae of your spine. “Do you feel any pain here?” Satan probed as he gently pressed on a certain spot on your back where Lucifer cracked it, causing you to arch it and squirm in place.
“Hey, if anyone should be touching them it should be me!” Asmo said as he sits in between you and Satan, holding you so delicately in his chest. “Oh my poor darling… Did those barbarians hurt you? Maybe you should let me have a look under your shirt and—“
“Oi! I don’t like where you’re goin’!”
All of this happened while you had a piece of pasta in your mouth. You could hardly say anything while the brothers began to bicker and fight, so you interrupted them by spitting out the broken piece of pasta onto the palm of your hand. “I-i’m fine I swear!” You claimed before this argument could get out of hand. “It’s a stupid dare from Solomon, but I’m not broken or anything…”
The room was terrifyingly quiet as they processed all of what you just told them. Their hearts would’ve stopped beating if they found out you were hurt, and this seemed like a lot of stress than it was worth. They berated Lucifer all for nothing, while he was worried that he might’ve hurt you. Now hearing that it was all a little prank got him popping a vein.
“I see,” Lucifer has this smile, though there was absolutely no light in his eyes as he looked at you. “So you thought it was a clever little prank, hm?” You could practically feel electricity in the air. One by one, the brothers began to disperse as Lucifer approached you.
“I-it was a little dare and–”
A gloved hand interrupted you, holding your chin and making you look up at him before you could mumble any more excuses that you hoped could spare you some mercy. Though you knew there was no way he’d give you that now, and you could tell you were definitely getting more than just a lecture.
“I think some corrective discipline is in order, little lamb. Come to my room, now.”
A small sequel to the prompt “When MC gets pushed off the stairs”. After that fiasco with those bullies, this now focuses on the short shenanigans that come with the brothers trying to take care of you after you sprained your ankle. However, not all of them are very knowledgeable when it comes to human health care.
if you haven't read the first part, please do! As there are some parts that is a reference from it (though it doesn’t dwell too heavy on it so it can be read on its own)
Lucifer
If he was already overbearing towards his brothers, then it’s so much more towards you now that you’re hurt. He asked for less work for the time being so he can take care of you after school, a request that Diavolo is happy to grant. Lucifer knows he wouldn’t mind, especially when he says it’s part of his duties to care for the exchange student, an excuse that the royals could see through. Though everyone knows how much he truly cared about you.
He has the power to transform the house into something more handicap friendly for you. Ramps on elevated areas around the house, adhesive stickers in the bathroom so you don’t slip, handles by the walls in case you need it while walking. He was this close to buying you an expensive wheelchair from the human realm that he found online, you had to stop him from doing so since you wouldn’t need it when you’re better.
Lucifer has an hourly alarm on his phone that reminds him to check up on you. No matter what he was doing during the day, he’ll stop and take out his D.D.D. to call you. He asks if you’re feeling any better and if you’re taking any pain medication or prescription pills as needed. He hates how he has to rely on Solomon when it comes to your medicine since they’re only obtained in the human realm, so Lucifer decided to take better care of you instead to make up for the lack of human knowledge.
If you ever said you needed something, whether it would be a snack that can only be bought outside or extra pillows to cushion your leg, Lucifer will definitely make it happen. If not him, then he’s asking Mammon or any brother available to attend to your needs regardless if it’s something for your recovery or not.
“They miss that favorite drink they usually have after school so I need you to go get it before coming home.” Lucifer’s tone is commanding, and if it weren’t for the fact that it was for you then the brothers would’ve made a fuss about his attitude. “I know it’s four blocks away, but that’s what they want. See to it that you come home with it.” He leaves no room for negotiation when he abruptly ends the call, expecting his brothers to come home with your drink.
When you’re finally out of that cast, Lucifer still refuses to let you go up and down the stairs alone. As if you were no longer capable of doing so without supervision. He makes sure you’re always holding onto the rails and that the stairways are always clear so that you don’t trip. You don’t see it, but he’s been more vigilant around you just in case there are more students he needs to keep an eye out for.
Mammon
Knowing that leaving you for just a few minutes already got you in this mess, Mammon decided to be glued to you this time. It’s almost difficult to pry him away from you, and he’s miserable every time he’s separated that he’ll do whatever it takes to run back to your room. To him, he thinks that something bad might just happen to you again if he lays his eyes off you for a second. Sometimes you wake up to a three-eyed crow stationed by your window like a little guard.
Chores and assignments are done in haste, the quality is questionable but it’s honest work. Once he tried to just rush his household chores but due to how poorly done it was, he was separated from you again in order to finish it properly. Now he tries being quick about it but still somewhat passable to standards. The only thing in his mind is how he gets to hang out in your room after this was all done.
Dishes and cutlery placed on the table where others had more spoons than the rest, the trash bags looked like they were just chucked into the garbage can outside, some clothes wasn’t sorted that Asmo got frustrated when he found his new shirt in Beel’s room where it was mistaken for a rag… Lucifer decided to assign chores that Mammon can take to your room, like laundry folding, to ease his brother’s nerves and lessen the stress he experiences on the daily.
Mammon often steals stuff from the other brothers if he thinks it’s something that could bring you comfort. Asmo’s scent diffuser, Belphie’s blanket, even Lucifer’s mini record player to help you sleep. They would initially get mad, though they soon see a pile of all their stuff in your room, with you resting so soundly in the middle of it like it’s a nest. As annoying as it was to have their belongings stolen, the brothers let it slide for now.
“Can’t help it aight?! My hands are feelin’ extra grabby these days.” He says as he fluffs one of Beel’s burger-shaped pillows before placing it by your back for more support. Mammon then plops down by your side with a huff, wrapping an arm around your shoulders to pull you closer. “That’s why ya gotta get better soon, ya hear me?”
He’s the one that refuses to let you walk around the house. Even if his brothers are there to supervise you, he claims that he’s your first demon so they should listen to him instead! Though it takes a little pout and maybe some puppy eyes from you to make Mammon yield.
Levi
At first Levi was a little agitated since taking care of you meant less time in his room. He always invited you there to hang out, but now with your cast it meant that he needs to adjust and relocate. It’s a small sacrifice if it means he gets to be with you. He’ll just switch base of operations.
Since he spends more time at home in the first place, he’s the one in charge of watching over you while everyone else is at RAD. Being a shut-in has its perks because it means he gets to hang out with you more, though it does a number on his nerves whenever he has to take care of you because he’s afraid he might make your condition worse somehow just by being next to you.
Lucifer already told him what he needs to do. Give you some medication at certain hours, assist if you need to walk or use the bathroom, and make sure you’re comfortable. It’s quite simple. They can’t risk stressing your injuries more, though that stress seems to be transmitting to Levi instead. “Hgnn… getting medication is like a fetch quest a-and assisting is like an escort mission… j-just like in the game.” Is what Levi mumbles to try and hype himself up by associating his tasks with something he loves.
Levi gets jumpy whenever you would walk, acting like you’d get hurt if you took a step with your bad leg. He’s good at keeping an eye out for you whenever you walk around the house because of his anxieties, and giving him bits of praise for taking care of you would usually do the trick of alleviating that. Eventually, he’s calmer when attending to your needs over the next few days.
He stayed in your room more often and he started gradually moving his stuff there so he wouldn’t go upstairs too often to get something in his room. His consoles, mangas, and games are sitting idly by in the corner of your bedroom so that there’s at least something you both could do instead of laying around. Even when you sleep, Levi is still playing games by your side but with a headset or a lower volume so you wouldn’t wake up.
The brothers eventually noticed how more and more of Levi’s things are appearing in your room. The Akuzon boxes are waiting outside your door instead of his, the latest figurine he bought is displayed in your shelf than on his collection, and they find Levi putting some of his clothes in your closet instead of his. If this went on, they might find Henry 2.0 in your room. Everyone requested a week off from RAD to do some damage control like moving some of Levi’s stuff out.
Satan
Satan stayed by your side, letting you lie down on the soft bed while he read your favorite passages. He even includes stories about the protagonist recovering from a battle, as if trying to tell you that healing from what happened is nothing to be ashamed of. You shouldn’t feel bad for resting because you need it, and Satan will see to it that you’re fully recovered with no problems.
If you were up for it, he would teach you any of the lessons you’ve missed once he’s home from RAD. He doesn’t mind giving you some of his notes and even writes it in a simpler way just for you to understand easier, even highlighting some key points so you know where to focus or what’s important. Satan wouldn’t want you to lag behind in class when you finally get back to school, but he’s only going to teach you at a pace you’re comfortable with. Your usual tutoring sessions are shorter because he wants you to focus on recovering first.
He’s got his nose glued to the human anatomy books that tackles sprains and muscles, something that Solomon provided after a lot of pestering from the demon’s end. He reads about how to treat it and the duration it would take until you’re fully better. It’s also his way of relieving his anxieties when it comes to your ankle so he can convince himself that you’re no longer suffering.
If you ever let out a grunt for whatever reason, expect Satan to suddenly be by your side asking you if you’re experiencing any of the symptoms he’s somehow memorized in his head. He’s being cautious if you might’ve accidentally aggravated your wounds and require any necessary medical attention, so he would sit you down and bombard you with questions about your condition. A brother would often have to rescue you before Satan gets halfway with his queries.
“If I don’t know any of these, then how would I tell if you need some help? There’s power in knowledge, you know.” Satan says as he flips through the pages of the thick medical book on his lap. There’s this determined look on his face where he wants to make sure to cross out all the symptoms of any possible ailments. “Now, are you experiencing ‘explosive diarrhea’ by any chance?”
Satan is the one that makes sure that all his other brothers would be useful when it’s their turn to take care of you. He takes note of when you need your next medication, reminds them to refill your water bottles, and how they’d have to check on you for each minute if they had to. If any of them caused you problems, no matter how big or small, Satan would be ready to chase them down for doing a poor job as soon as they left your room.
Asmo
Asmo is treating you like an absolute damsel sometimes whenever he sees you limping around the house with your crutches. He also hates that you need to stay home for bedrest since, as he notes, you get to see him less during school days. He loves spending time with you as much as he loves staring at his reflection in the mirror.
Since you’re not around in school, Asmo is always ready to fill you in on the cheesiest gossip like he always does during lunch time or your after school walks. Now he goes straight to your room, placing his bag to the side before dramatically plopping down on your bed with more news. Weirdly enough, some of that news was about those girls that pushed you and about how they’re both fighting more recently. You even notice how big his smile is as the story progressively gets gruesome.
“Just because my darling is stuck here doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be updated to the latest scoop, right?” He says with a grin, showing you the latest tweets about the topic. “Don’t worry, you can always rely on me to give you the juiciest gossip.” This is his way of hanging out with you like how you both would at school. Whenever he wants to talk about something with you and remembers you’re not around yet, he gets a little lonely and he makes up for that feeling when he comes home.
Asmo would want to put his name on your cast once he learns that it’s something humans tend to do. It’s written all over with a pink glittery pen accompanied by little hearts on the side, maybe a little sheep doodle next to it too. The brothers were not happy to learn that he was the first one to write his name on your cast and then insisted on putting theirs next.
He insists on playing the role of ‘Nurse Asmo!’ whenever he’s trying to take care of you, complete with a play-pretend stethoscope for the role (Solomon gave it to him). Normally he wouldn’t come near someone who’s sick because he doesn’t want to catch whatever they have, that wouldn’t look so good on him. Luckily, yours isn’t contagious at all. Asmo would insist on feeding you and there’s the occasional teasing, but it’s all in good faith.
Asmo also makes a great alert system. You once almost tripped but managed to hold onto the desk, and that was enough to make Asmo let out a high-pitched scream as he was worried your ankle must’ve gotten worse, maybe it’s not healing at all if you almost fell. It alerted every brother in the house and you not only have to deal with a worried Asmo, but now six more anxious demons as well.
Beel
Beel feeds you foods high in nutrients. He’d even run to the stores to get you those sorts of foods if it meant you’ll heal in no time. Of course, he’s mindful of getting nutritious foods you actually like eating. He wants you to be both healthy and happy.
“Here, Solomon said milk helps with healthy bones.” Beel says while carrying an entire box filled with jugs of milk. Clearly he means well, but you have to explain to Beel how drinking and eating things high in calcium doesn’t magically heal your ankle (it’s also worse if you were lactose intolerant). He’s a little disappointed, but he’ll understand. Beel could either drink them or give them to Luke as ingredients for his baking.
Whenever Lucifer asks the brothers to run errands for you, whether it's something for your ankle or for your comfort, Beel is usually the first one to respond and he’s already out the door before any of the brothers could intervene. He likes hearing your gratitude when he does something for you, even if it meant he had to fly across Devildom to get you that ice cream dessert or just walk to purgatory hall to fetch something Luke made for you.
The brothers had to convince him that you wouldn’t shatter if he gave you a hug, but he wasn’t sure if he could. If the stairs already hurt you, what more for a demon like Beel who could bend metal like paper if he wanted to? He was too afraid at first to touch you, but you could see just how much he wanted to hold you. It takes only a few words and a pout from you to make the demon fold.
If Beel would have to bulldoze everything to clear a path for you then he would. In case there was a bunch of furniture or other things all across the floor, Beel would chuck them aside to make sure you won’t have a hard time walking or risk bumping your leg onto something. Though Lucifer reprimanded him for literally shoving every couch aside just to make room for you and then forgetting to put them back properly. The house wasn’t a pleasant sight to come home to at that time.
Beel’s next solution was to help you with that ankle was to carry you around so you could get to places. You’d be in his arms bridal style while he takes you to the dining room to eat with them. He would even stop eating from the mountain of food from his plate if you needed to stand up, Beel would attend to you right away and take you wherever you needed to go.
Belphie
Belphie is not the most reliable brother when it comes to taking care of you, not when his excessive drowsiness gets in the way of actually remembering what to do. He wouldn’t be able to wake up in time to give you your medication, or have enough energy to assist you whenever you needed to use the bathroom or just get up to walk. When you needed his help with something, at some point he forgot about your cast and told you that you can do it on your own. His older brothers definitely scolded him for that and the tasks were assigned to someone else instead.
The only role that was given to Belphie was something he can easily do, which is to make sure you’re comfortable and well-rested. None of them wants to see you walking around too much, even with your crutches, as they worry that something could happen while they’re away. They fear you might fall over and won’t be able to get back up, so Belphie is in charge of keeping you in bed and making sure you don’t move more than you need to.
Whenever you sleep next to Belphie, you always feel so refreshed and rested afterwards no matter how long or short you slept. It’s the demon’s doing, where he makes sure you have the sweetest dreams and get enough sleep so that you’re energized. Belphie thinks that getting more energized meant that your ankle would heal faster, so he’s always trying to drag you in for naps.
For the moments that he’s actually awake, he would be ‘fixing’ your bed so that it would be more comfortable to sleep in. There are three times more than the usual number of pillows on your bed, with extra comforters and better quality blankets. Each time he comes home, he’s fixing your bed and sometimes he adds pillows on it or replaces your old ones.
“I only have these because I was preparing a little fort for us back at school…” Belphie is a little quiet when he speaks, trying to pass it off as being too busy fluffing your pillows but in reality he just doesn’t like remembering what happened that day. “But since you’re stuck at home, it only makes sense I bring the fort over here right?”
The only thing that upsets Belphie at this situation for now is the fact he can’t lie down on your lap like he could every time he wants to use you as a pillow. Beel had to remind him that it might hurt your ankle if he laid his head on your thighs. Even though you tried to explain that it’s not necessarily true, the twins insist on making sure nothing would hinder your healing.
I wrote the school play brain rot to cope with the stress of studying for the license exam. Now it was over and i reopened my document. My god, I did not expect around 2k+ words on it.
I still feel like it would be something the brothers would do, to sabotage a romantic ending CKDBSNSVS. I could practically hear the obm silly music playing in the background while writing it.
There’s another school play in which you act as the main lead because Simeon thought you’d be perfect for the role, there’s no need to cast anyone else (much to Asmo’s dismay). He’s seen your performances before, and you’re one of the easiest actors to work with compared to the brothers that constantly got their lines wrong during rehearsals. Simeon can get frustrated, and it seems that the brothers feel the same way, if not terrified of the angel’s sudden change in attitude as soon as he plays the director. You’re just relieved he’s not that way towards you.
Of course, who wouldn’t want to see a play written by Christopher Peugeot himself. The theme was a thrilling love story wherein the hero would have to go through a long journey to rescue the one they love, which was you. They would meet so many characters that would either support the hero or become an obstacle on his way to defeat the cruel lord that locked you up.
You’re the main love interest, and you sat on the side watching as everyone else in the room debated and fought each other on why they should have the main lead role, why they should be the hero who would rescue you. Seeing as how the atmosphere in the room is starting to have murderous intent, Simeon finally thought of a solution that would be fair to everyone. Draw lots.
That’s how you ended up with Solomon as your hero, and Barbatos acting as the main villain and the rest playing a support role. They either help Solomon with the journey or act as one of Barbatos’ minions to try to stop him from his advances. Everyone could only blame their luck, though to say that Solomon was happy about his part is an understatement. Meanwhile, Barbatos does adore the parts where he keeps you all to himself, however he does not enjoy the scene where he had to terrorize a town since Diavolo’s character, a commoner (which he loves to play), is one of the victims that the hero finds which eventually sets the tone of the play to move forward. It takes a lot for Barbatos not to run to his master’s side while he was acting out his death.
Solomon is always ready to rehearse his scenes with you, and when it’s about lines talking about you, Simeon is impressed at how quickly he can memorize them. But then again, if they’re all about how much he adores you then it’s not difficult to remember at all. Lucifer and the others hate playing supporting characters where they have to hear about how much Solomon loves you. It’s bad enough they had to play the role of helping him, but there are several minutes of dialogue with his character telling them how important you are to him and how he needs to find you quickly! It took several practice rehearsals for Mammon to say his lines without sounding so forced or annoyed at him when his role is to literally help Solomon through the journey.
Levi is quite happy with his role as the costume designer because there’s no way his envy wouldn’t flare up if he had to stand there and listen to that. That would’ve flooded the stage if he lost all control, so he decides to use headphones and blast music when it’s Solomon’s scene and only take it off once it’s you.
Satan would play the role of the narrator, and while he normally enjoys the part he got, it’s quite irritating that he has to tell the love story between you two, even if it’s merely a work of fiction. His claws threatened to tear holes into the script, but he kept himself calm and collected. They decided to put a leather cover binding to avoid that happening, and Satan actually likes how his own personal script looks like a book now.
Lucifer is questioning why Simeon would write such a piece, given how most lines are so sickening and romantic. The angel wanted to tell a tale of lovers that could overcome everything, though he omits the fact that he really did have you in mind when he was writing this. Maybe he projected a little too much of his feelings, but the play still had more elements regardless that a lot of the audience would be able to enjoy. The action, the drama, and the tension that could keep everyone at the edge of their seats.
What Simeon did not expect is for the brother’s self control to snap. Maybe he should’ve thought about that when he wrote down that kiss scene. It’s a page he kept between you and Solomon, as he knew that rehearsals would’ve been a disaster if they knew how the story would actually end. Of course he did ask for your permission, if this is something you’re comfortable with and he would rewrite the part if he needed. You don’t mind, and you understand why this was kept private.
So when the day of the play came, everything was going smoothly. At least according to Simeon’s high standards.
Solomon and Barbatos really do seem to play the perfect role. A good villain doesn't need to yell, it comes with the composure they bring in the story that sometimes people wonder if Barbatos is really acting. The fight scenes were also phenomenal whenever Solomon would use some sort of imagery magic to make it more realistic, sparkes and effects flying in the air as they fought until Barbatos eventually fled, claiming defeat but he will be back for you one day.
What the brothers thought was a successful play became something they dreaded when you and Solomon continued the scene. These were lines they’ve never heard before, and it doesn’t take a genius to guess where this was heading. Satan is furiously flipping through the script trying to see where this was coming from, but this part was hidden from the Avatars on purpose.
“Oh how I longed to hold you like this in my arms.” Solomon says as he pulls you in an embrace that lingered longer than the brothers would like while they watched from backstage.
“Did you truly miss me that much?” You say, meant to be a half tease to the hero as you returned the hug. It’s a romantic reunion that the audience has been waiting for.
“More than you could ever think.” Solomon sounds so convincing. He says his lines as if you two were truly apart for so long, that there’s disbelief in his voice like this was all a dream and he would wake up to find that his journey is not over, that you were still locked away. But he has you in his arms, and that’s all he needs to ground himself. “Each time I see the crescent moon, I’m reminded of the smile that graced your lips. It pains me whenever I turn to my side and realize that you’re weren’t with me.”
Solomon brushes the hair away from your face before cupping your cheek, looking at you so lovingly that you feel your heart skip a beat, almost forgetting that you’re acting out a scene. But to the sorcerer, he doesn’t need to act. “Tell me, will you grace me with those lips?” He asks, and that’s the cue for you to slowly lean forward to seal the deal.
“HOLD IT!”
Both if you freeze before turning back to see Mammon pointing the sword prop at Solomon. The sorcerer is confused, and perhaps a little irritated that his moment with you was ruined. It would’ve been a perfect way to end the play. “What are you doing?” Solomon asks with furrowed brows.
“That’s my line! Get ya grimy hands off em!” Mammon growled, taking a few steps forward.
“You’re not even supposed to be part of this narrative.” Solomon reminds the demon, warning him for ruining the scene.
“You claim that as so,” Satan says as he appears by his brother’s side in a puff of green flames, looking quite pissed. “How dare you rewrite the ending to your liking, and then use the Narrative as your shield. You should be ashamed of yourself, filthy thief.” the demon hissed as he threw the script he fashioned into a book across the stage. The brothers fully believed they were deceived with the script, and that Solomon had something to do with it.
The audience are now all captivated at the scene unfolding before their eyes as they watched the Narrator throw the book across. Perhaps the book told the whole scene, and that Solomon actually rewrote the ending according to his will since they assumed that script was an actual prop to keep the story going. “Was the hero actually manipulating the whole scene?” “What a crazy twist!” “Wait, so who's the real lover?” “Were they tricked to think that Solomon was the real love interest?!”. Whispers rang in the air as they were all made to believe this was still part of the play
That might be the only way for them to salvage what could’ve been a successful performance: to keep acting. Solomon reluctantly lets go of you before standing up to face the two demons. “I can’t believe you all would cause a scene, after all we’ve been through. After all they’ve been through.” Solomon says as he gestures to you, who is just as confused as the crowd.
“Ah, so you acknowledge our efforts and yet you get to keep them for yourself?” Belphie steps in on the other side of the stage, with Beel following behind him. “Kinda greedy isn’t it? Even greedier than him.” Belphie says while pointing at Mammon. That somehow got the audience to laugh.
“That’s pretty selfish too, and that’s coming from me!” Asmo finally chimes in, holding onto his tulle costume while he stomps into the stage. He wouldn’t let his brothers steal all the spotlight, and there was also no way he was going to let Solomon just kiss you like that on the stage. If it were him instead, you both would be the talk of the week! “Honestly dear, that’s quite a big low. Even for someone like you.”
Simeon is just thankful that Lucifer and Levi didn’t even chime in on this monstrous mess of a show, he has their pride and anxiety (respectively) to thank for. Despite the sudden improv show, it seems that it captured the audience’s attention… just not in the way that he hoped.
Solomon is now putting you behind him with a magic spell flaring by the palm of his hand. Nothing harmful, just something that’s more flashy than anything. The other demons are closing in on you both, trying to make up lines on why you should choose them. Of course, a fight breaks out and everyone in the audience cheered for whoever they were rooting for to win while you stayed behind and watched the chaos unfold.
It took one wrong spell after another for the boys to lay on the ground, groaning after Satan and Solomon’s stun lock spell collided into something bigger that it affected everyone in the stage except you since you stayed behind. You wondered what you could say or do to salvage this as the audience is watching intently on what happens next.
Thankfully, Lucifer finally steps on the stage, calm and collected as ever while he tries to avoid the groaning actors. He played as one of the Barbatos’ henchmen that Solomon defeated, so seeing his reappearance was definitely a shock to the crowd. You prayed that Lucifer has a plan on getting you out of this mess without ruining the play you all worked so hard for. Luckily, Simeon told him a few lines that could salvage the play and save you from the embarrassment.
He grabs your hand and kisses the back of it, a small smirk appearing on his face before he continues. “I’m here to collect you, under my master’s orders. It seems that he was right, that none of these heroes were ever deserving of your heart.” Lucifer says while he stares at his idiotic brothers with discontent, managing to stay in character just like you hoped. “Luckily, we don’t need to rely on cheap tricks and underhanded tactics.”
Solomon groans, rubbing his eyes profusely but his vision won’t focus yet due to the spell. “Don’t listen to them…” He says, desperately trying to reach out to you. Lucifer only lets out a low chuckle as he watches how pathetic the hero has become.
“Come with us, and we’ll be sure to prove them wrong.” His line is full of confidence with a slight mischief, and the crowd cheers as the lights go dark and the curtains drop, signaling the end of the play.
What should’ve ended in a happy love story became some sort of twist. People now assume the hero might’ve manipulated the scene which they find amusing if the good guy of the story was not who they pictured to be, and the villains may actually have a shot of winning your heart. It’s the talk of the school, and people are praising Simeon for writing such a crazy plot twist, which he finds a little frustrating since it’s the only part he didn’t actually plan. He’s not sure if he wants to thank the brother’s recklessness or not.
Even after Simeon explained the hidden parts that were reserved just for you and Solomon since he expected something like this could happen at the rehearsals, he never really anticipated that they would jump in the scene like that on the actual performance itself. Now he has to write another play in the future as many expressed their wish to see what happens between you and the dark lord Barbatos.
Needless to say, many of the brothers were strung upside down by their feet after the show.
Hihi!! I have an idea for the obey me brothers! What if mc is a child angel who has fallen and they find the fallen kid? And are wondering "what could a child possibly do to deserve this?" Just a thing of brainrot😭🙏 hope you have a wonderful day!
thank you for this ask anon! super cute idea of imagining how they'd help a child MC that had just fallen. The transition of becoming a demon would be difficult for them but i think it would be an easier journey with the brothers.
When you think about it? Yeah, it’s a little upsetting and screwed up that someone who claims to be a father for all angels, to rule over a realm that’s supposed to be about good morals and whatnot, could be so unforgiving enough to punish a little angel like you.
The brothers were summoned to the castle as it was an urgent matter and usually that’s never really a good thing. It could range to something silly like another one of Diavolo’s big fun events or it could be something serious that could pose a threat to Devildom. What they didn’t expect to find was a little child seated on Diavolo’s lap while the prince played with the wings.
Diavolo explains that he noticed that there’s an unexpected presence in Devildom so he went to investigate and to his surprise, he found you instead. All alone surrounded by shedded white feathers as your wings gradually turned black as a punishment. The prince finds it a little nostalgic, recalling the time when he first found the brothers. Of course, he doesn’t mention that as part of his monologue.
“Get to the point, Diavolo.” Lucifer says, pinching the bridge of his nose as he can see where this was going.
Diavolo stated that it’s best for the brothers to take care of you. As much as trouble makers they all are (and they probably shouldn’t even be near kids), they’re the ones who could sympathize with your situation the most as a fallen angel. You’re going to need a lot of guidance with the recent changes and Diavolo can only trust the brothers for this task. If they can’t handle it, then Diavolo will find someone else to enlist their help but for now, you’re in the hands of the seven Avatars. Despite the groans and protests, you went back to the House of Lamentation with them at the end of the day.
There was a house meeting that night.
Lucifer, being the mother-hen and older brother that he was, instructed each of his brothers what to do and avoid when taking care of you. You’re never allowed to go anywhere without a brother to accompany you, since they knew firsthand how wicked some demons were to fallen angels like you and the fact that you’re so young doesn’t help your case. Lucifer doesn’t want you to experience the hardships they went through before. When you express struggles on flying after you’ve fallen, Lucifer is patiently trying to teach you how to get used to it. He’s holding onto your hand while you flap those little wings, and later on he’d slowly glide with you around the gardens. He adores being able to help you like this, it reminds him of how he had to teach his brothers before. When you mess up on your chores, Lucifer is not as strict to you as he is to whoever’s the brother in charge that time. The most punishment you’d probably get is being grounded, but he never threatens to hang you upside down (unless you’re a rowdy child, then he’s strict)
Mammon secretly dotes on you like how he does with his brothers when they were younger. Whenever he feels you clinging onto his leg if you get scared or nervous, a part of him absolutely melts and he’s trying not to show it. Plus, you never call him names and are much nicer than they are so he hopes you stay that way for a long time. During his big wins at the casino, he’s always coming home with a treat or a gift just to spoil you a little bit. His typical tsundere attitude needed to be held back though, because he once affectionately called you ‘stupid’ and you almost cried because you thought he hated you. Mammon panicked so badly and made a vow to himself not to do that anymore, to try to use nicer language around you specifically. Some find it funny to see their foul mouthed brother try to use age-safe words when he’s angry but you’re around, and the end result is that he just sounds a bit goofier than usual.
Levi doesn’t know how to take care of children at all, and he’s more nervous around you than you are of him. Though he starts to talk about his latest games, introducing you to some media that he would find safe for children. The last thing he needs is accidentally corrupting that little brain of yours, and if the anime showed any semblance of inappropriate fanservice, he’s immediately switching the shows to something more appropriate for you. He’s hoping you don’t ask any questions about what you almost saw, because he’ll never hear the end of it from his brothers if they find out. He’d get hung upside down in the living room with the wifi router chord for the whole night if it happens. Other than that, he lets you stay in his room and you can stare at the aquarium all you want as long as you don’t touch any of his collectibles and figurines. Levi would even sit you on his lap while he plays his games, and he’s snickering at the sound of his enemies who refuse to believe they’re being bested by someone who sounds like a child.
Satan is the one that would struggle the most with empathizing with you since he was never an angel in the first place. The only glimpses of the celestial realm he can remember was from Lucifer’s own memories. Such an annoyingly bright realm… He never felt the need for lights compared to his brothers since he was the only one born a demon. Though whenever you’re around, Satan would turn on a lamp just for you since he noticed how you always squint in his dark room. He always makes sure to either put away some books in case they’re cursed, or just carry you all the way to a safe spot by the bed if you want to hang out with him. He either reads a nice book with you, or you’d both watch some shows that either had detectives or cats in it. Satan would have a picture of you sleeping with a cat stuffed toy, he can’t help but stare at it sometimes in adoration.
Asmo is the one that helps teach you with the proper grooming of your wings and horns. Given that you’re a young and new demon, you often feel an itchy sensation around your scalp while your horns are gradually growing. He’ll always have you seated on his lap while he applies some sort of soothing cream to relieve the itch, tending to your hair as well while he’s at it. He’s absolutely smitten at how small and cute you are, so Asmo enjoys all the times he’s teaching you proper hygiene care for demons. Asmo is even documenting how much your horns have grown so that one day, he can compile all of the photos and videos and look back on the progress eventually. He can’t wait until your horns are fully grown because there will be so many accessories he’ll want to try on you eventually.
Beel decides what safe foods they should introduce to you first since they notice how repulsed you get over things that had “poison” or insect parts in them, not when you’ve been used to the cuisine back in the celestial realm. He’s always reassuring you that none of them are dangerous, and you could always give him the parts you don’t want to eat. Beel also offers to hoist you over his shoulders to give you a piggyback ride because he loves hearing you laugh while he runs around the house with you. In any other case, he’s very protective of you out of the rest since you’re so small and young. He keeps his gaze low whenever he walks around the house just in case he might accidentally bump into you, and given the sheer strength he already has, it’s a high possibility. Satan had to reassure him that Beel wouldn’t break your rib if you bumped into his leg.
Belphie is normally with his twin when it comes to taking care of you since he’s not the best at babysitting when alone. Though when it’s just you two, he just makes sure you both stay indoors to keep you safe. You’re so young and innocent, it reminds him a bit too much of Lilith, Belphie would hate to see you get hurt so his best idea is that you both stay inside where it’s safer. He sometimes tells spooky stories of what bad demons would do if they get you as a warning (or as a joke), and the brothers scolded Belphie for scaring you. But that meant you couldn’t sleep alone that night, so they’re all silently hoping you choose their room to stay in. Regardless, Belphie is always there for you whenever you’re having nightmares. He has his tail wrapped around you while he holds you in his arms to help you fall asleep. Your nubby horns and wings may be a problem for him when it comes to napping together with you, so he hopes that you get to control your form better soon.
Lucifer came back home after a meeting with Diavolo who wanted to hear updates on how you’re adjusting in Devildom and if there was a need to find someone else to take care of you in case the brothers couldn’t handle it. He planned on discussing it with his siblings to hear their opinions, but instead he finds everyone all inside your room. They’re huddled around your bed, with you sleeping so peacefully in the middle of them. Maybe there’s no need for a discussion after all.
Finally made a blog for my obey me! dolls :3c
Link is here and you can also find the source of where to get your own plushies in that blog :3c (there's currently a mammon and satan order)
ik you said you’re working on requests, but are you still taking them? I love your writing style btw!
currently working through a list i have so they would definitely take some time. I do like it when people have some brainrot to share though >:3c
There are requests i've received both here and on AO3 so apologies if i cant get to them all right away! I also have some irl things to deal with until august which is why writing has gotten slower than usual. And a part of me REFUSES to half-ass any scenario just to make fast content. gotta get that quality first.
anyone can share ideas on my inbox, but for requests please know it will take a while after all u3u) especially for side chara requests since i'm not super familiar with some of them to write their characters properly in specific scenarios.
thinking about whether or not i should make a mini blog of all the photos i've taken of my obey me plushies in places (currently only Lucifer and Beel).
I travel a lot so i take pics of them with the scenery. Maybe it's about time i make a blog dedicated to that :0c
