“ i’m great, thanks for asking. and how are you,  nice to see you.” voice void of any emotion as the blossoms always brought out the worst in him so he hopes to avoid any war of words with the eldest twin, he’s having a quite pleasant day. or rather was having. he’s exchanged a few words with her here and there since her return, this is the most she has said to him probably in years? he won’t let that get to his head. “well, sherri as you have already noticed, shit hit the fan as they say. i tried to stop the lodges, but what can trailer trash hobo do? not to worry, we have a plan, all is not lost.” yet.

she can’t help but smile when she’s with him, regardless of what’s coming. “obviously i am as long as it’s working.”  licking her lips as she looks at him, she shifts to climb onto his lap. pulling her hair out of her ponytail, she shakes it loose and then leans forward to kiss him again. 

he’s sure that he’s dead and gone to heaven because betty freaking cooper was doing things to him without even trying, that’s how good she was. hands on her lower back, pulling her closer against him, and in that moment he remembers why she was doing all this. to take his mind off the next full moon. the realization hits him like electricity, body tensing again before pulling away from the kiss. “sorry, I just —” was he really turning down a girl who was in his lap. he must be losing his mind. “it’s not — i can’t. “

“ did you just try to boss me around? “ blinks, head shaking with a small laugh as he finds the movie on his laptop. “ no complaining about historical inaccuracies, i know you.”

CAROLINE. 

there’s no easy way to admit why she’s here. it’s not something she’s proud of. as soon as the originals decide to make this their home, it becomes number one on her ‘do not go’ list. but then…then they lose bonnie and her options are slim, and, well, she gets desperate. caroline glances away for a moment, smile slipping. ❝ oh you know… ❞ one hand comes up to tuck hair behind her ear, ❝ just uh, calling in reinforcements. ❞ what else is she supposed to say? mystic falls isn’t exactly the same place it was when he left.

he knows that look well, knows the hurt & pain it tries to hide. he doesn’t pry, has no right. left before shit went down, can’t pretend to care now, knows it’s not his place. “ if you need anything — i’m available. are things really that bad that you had to come HERE of all places? have you tried hell? i hear the guys there are very friendly.” friendlier than the monsters she was looking for, no doubt.

Clary looks at Jughead, not able to imagine what he’s going through. She doesn’t want to add to his pain but she needs to tell him what was sent to her. “I’m sorry about your dad. I know you guys weren’t close but I’m sorry just the same.” If it had been her own father, she’s sure that she would have conflicting feelings about it as well. And if it was Luke? She’s not to sure she could handle it. “I need to talk to you about something though. Before anyone does anything rash.”

head dips in a nod, somber expression on his features. same one he’s been wearing for days now. since he found out. clary was one of the only two or three people who talked to him about it. half of his was glad others didn’t bring it up, but also hurt. a mess of emotions. head lifts, gaze focusing towards her. “yeah, of course. what’s up, how can i help?”

BETTY. ·

               She listens as he speaks, a dizzy sort of feeling taking her brain already. She’s unsure if it’s the alcohol or the pill taking its effect. Either way, it’s already pushing her problems to the back of her mind, one hand moving to squeeze his shoulder in a way that’s an attempt at being comforting. “She would have loved you if she got to know you, Jug.” There’s a brief pause, words processing before she speaks. “And he’s your dad, you’re not some sociopath. Of course, you would feel something. But you have me, and I have you. Like you said, that’s not going to change.”

               The hand on his shoulder rubs soothing circles before she leans to rest her head there, partially because she just wants to make him feel better and partially because she’s seeking some kind of comfort too. For now, it appears that she’s forgotten about the TV.

it’s an odd feeling settling over him as she says that. he never thought much of alice cooper; just the constant fear he had when he would visit betty. always glaring at him, silently saying how unworthy he was for her daughter. yet he would never wish this to happen to her. shakes his head, doesn’t want to think about his father, the deadbeat that left them to fend for themselves. maybe he hot what he deserved. “yeah, we got each other in this dark time of our lives. which is why i got these before you came over. “ a grin forms, leaning over to one side and pressing a button down, little colorful lights strung across the ceiling. cheek resting against her head, small kiss pressed ‘top it with a smile. “let’s not forget the disco on the table.” lifting a bottle to his lips, he tries to not let the closeness cloud his mind. he’s fine the way he is, and he tries to be there for her, no matter how conflicted he is about his feelings about all the deaths.

fitz    smiles.              giving    the    boy   a    knowing    glance.               amused    by    his    phrasing.         though        ,          she    cannot    help    but    to    become    slightly    bitter.            silent    chuckle    catching  her    bottom    lip    between    her    teeth.               looking    away.                  “more    like    walked    through  the    damn    park.”               she    spoke.                “i    didn’t    do    shit.          fucker    just    mauled    me  right    there.”

“ that’s rough. “ he wouldn’t know he would handle it if he wasn’t born one. things are different to made and natural wolves. she — was different, wrong. unnatural in all the sense of the word. “ but hey, you survived so far. can’t be that bad, right?”

   “I think you’re losing it Jones.”Hands are placed on her hips as she gives him a semi cocky smile. “It’s a good movie, okay if you don’t think so – what’s your favorite?”

“ i don’t really have one? “ it’s the truth, since jellybean left town years ago, he stopped paying attention to movies that were anything other than horrors. and even then, not many were good. “ man, that's sad. “

               In areas like this, everyone knew everyone  and anyone who was a definite outsider stuck out like a sore thumb - especially with the manner in which she’d come in. She’s used to a driver - Joe always locked the doors when it came to seedier areas like the very visible side of the tracks she had come in on. What she’s not used to is the almost immediate change when you passed the train tracks. Areas became icer and more well lit, and leather jackets clustered around street lights with cigarettes became young couples walking their two small dogs. 

               Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but still.

               She’s unsurprised when Joe doesn’t come back; frankly, she had expected it. He works for her father, not herself, and in knowing that the man had set her up with an apartment and an actual shit ton of ikea boxes to keep her occupied, she knew for certain it was another attempt to keep her from getting into trouble, again. 

               It’s a shame trouble found her anyway.

               For now, though, she’s content to linger in the little, darkly lit diner that seemed to be open 24 hours, half relishing in the fact that Joe’s ever watchful eyes were gone and half debating her next move. Right now it’s finding some shitty little dive that souldn’t card her so she could get a drink, or just going home and sleeping because traveling wore her out. At least until she catches what must be the third glance boring into the back of her neck. Growing up with arms dealers, you learned to be observant.

                    “Do you like, need something? If it’s my fries, I don’t think I’m gonna finish them.” It’s not a peace offering; they’re just not hot enough for her anymore and she plans on eating nothing that’s going to soak up the impending alcohol. She just doesn’t want to offend some small-town hick by ditching most of her meal and get her food spit in next time.

he’d noticed her as soon as she entered the diner, it wasn’t hard not to. tall, blonde hair and a face mixture of an angel and the devil. almost calling out to him, gaze flickering back to her from time to time. they didn’t get many newcomers in riverdale, not those of her standard. she was in a league of her own & jughead was mesmerized. whatever he was working on before she entered was forgotten, picking at his food in front of him. thinking how to approach her. did he want to approach her? where did that come from. but he wanted to know more about the newcomer. 

head shakes at her question, moving from his seat to that across from her yet he does take a fry from the plate. arms folded ‘top table, still looking at her. something was different about her. “jughead jones, resident trouble.” statement made, she’ll find out either way, best to be upfront. “and you’re a long way from home. running or lost?”

aurora. ·

She hadn’t expected him to react with enthusiasm though it would have pleased her for him to do so.  “Darling, we’ve already been behaving civilly.”  she replied.  He wasn’t wrong though.  They were far from friends, though perhaps not as far as he imagined.  Loyalty, after all, meant a great deal to Aurora and he had demonstrated that in spades as he had stuck by Cheryl through the drama of the past few weeks.  “Though, you may be half-right as to gossiping about partners: I’d never let a thing pass through my lips about Cheryl, though I fully expect you to tell me if Lucien has been less than doting.”  Not that Lucien would, but Aurora always liked to be certain, and bringing it up had the added benefit of making conversation with Jughead. 

“ ah, i see. you are loyal to your friend, my girlfriend and yet if you know something , your lips are sealed. while i am expected to sing like a canary about your precious lucien. ” a laugh spills from lips, head shaking with brows raised. the nerve of some. but — jughead trusted cheryl, not many had that privilege. as for the other man, jughead couldn’t care less, none of his business. “ sure thing, rory. i’ll let you know if i see some shit.” he’s heard somewhere how she does not like at all being called anything other than her given name, but he was in a not so pleasant mood.

CHERYL. 

“those are Christian Louboutin Mascaralta sandals. you do not want to get in between a girl and her shoes, jughead.” maybe there was a glare in his general direction. but for the most part, her eyes stayed on the shoes. “in fact, we should go in. i’m sure they have them in my size.” 

“ and i didn’t understand any of the words between are and sandals. “ regret is felt greatly, he should have stayed home instead of agreeing to spend the day with her. two hours and he’s ready to die. she was right about one thing though, he did not wish to get between her and shoes. “ one hour, cheryl. after than we’re doing something i want. “

‘’who the fuck am i going to impress? there’s no one around for me to do that.’‘ perhaps he was just trying to out eat the other boy. or maybe he just that hungry. ‘‘am i? well damn. be careful, jones. i may just end up blowing all my cookies all over your.’‘ 

“that tends to happen when you open your mouth, reg. scare all the people away.” jughead laughs, chucks a fry at him, head shaking. he better not be taking jughead’s crown of eating away from him. he will sue. “alright, big man, calm yourself. before you hurt yourself.”

▌🌸 ▌COCKS AN EYEBROW ; SQUINTING AT HIS SMILE. Doesn’t know what to take it for ? The meaning behind it, that is. But the curiosity at the tip of her tongue is L O S T when a rare image of Jughead streaking flashes before her very eyes. A blush SPREADING down to her neck, filling the apple of her cheeks. Clearing her throat, fluttering her eyelashes rapidly, as if that can erase what her mind just   S H O W C A S E D. ❝ Well, now I’ll know. ❞ Betty states. A curl at the corner of twin flesh, forming a smile. ❝ And I’ll give you a heads up on that to say, do you really want to do that ? It’s getting cold, Juggie. And I don’t think the cold weather will do good on your…uh, erm.. ❞ She should just change the subject, shaking her head, and waving her hand as if to tell him to forget about it. ❝ ..Just, I guess I’ll have to take care of you if you get sick. Behave, Jug. Or I’ll stick to you like glue, just to make sure you don’t do it. ❞ Mentally scolds her mother for making her unduly mother material. 

“if you think that's gonna make me NOT do it now... the thought of being in your bed for days while you take care of me... think you can wear a sexy little outfit as well? i hear sex is good for when you’re ill.” brows wiggle, a smirk flashes on his brims. at first he felt bad for making her worry, yet she was so cute blushing. how was he not to take advantage of that? “you’ll have to come with me. hold my clothes for when i’m done. bring me back to room temperature.” a laugh spills from lips as he takes her hand in his, bringing it to his chest. slowly moving it down. “still to me like glue & i’ll never let you go, betty cooper.”

          it didn’t matter how much time the pair had been apart, jellybean knew that she was always going to be the little sister that her brother would protect regardless. they weren’t little kids anymore that was for sure, but she didn’t care. the corners of her mouth twitched up into a smile as she moved over towards the male. “ I won’t get into trouble I promise, but thank you for ya know, always being here regardless of the distance. it was nice knowing you were just a phone call away. ”

some times he thinks that life was easier whens he wasn’t back in town. he missed her so, of course. and yet now he has to worry even more. in case something happens, in case she does something that will change her life forever. he didn’t want this life for her. it was an accident for him as well, so he knows how quickly things can escalate. “ jellybean ...  be  careful  ok ? ”
