The Frankfurt Kitchen (Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, 1926), is one of the first unified concepts for domestic designs. Designed for the purpose of Ernst May's social housing projects in Frankfurt, this arrangement aimed for efficiency, low cost and in minimal space occupation. In a way it can be conceived as an autonomous situation with the possibility to be applied everywhere. Frankfurt Kitchen can be understood as a continuation and extension of the human body activity within it, in a way a materialization of the performativity it is supposed to host.
