glamour magick you can practice every day ᥫ᭡

you can use glamour magick for everything, not just beauty and love and that's why it's my favorite kind of magick

daily showers:

washing your body, your face or your hair can be such a powerful practice. enchant your soap, body wash, face wash and shampoo and use them to remove all the negative energy, any bad thoughts, insecurities, bad memories, health problems and just anything you want to get rid of. i do that by holding the tool (e.g. a bar of soap) in both of my hands and i just focus on my intention for a while. something like "this soap will wash off any negative energy that clings to me" or "this shampoo will get rid of any negative thoughts i have"

face, body and hair care:

just like you can enchant your beauty products that wash your body to remove any bad energy, you can enchant any products you're going to leave on your body to bring positive things into your life. i use my conditioner to give me confidence, i use my magical toner for beauty, love and attraction, i use body lotion and moisturizer for protection and hair oils for abundance.

mirror magick:

something as simple as looking at yourself in the mirror, repeating positive affirmations, spells and visualizing yourself as the best version of yourself can absolutely change your life. i love how confident and beautiful it makes me feel.

enchanted jewelry and perfume:

just like any beauty and skincare products, you can enchant your jewelry or your perfume and wear it. love, good luck, protection, attraction, confidence, anything you need and want!

color magick:

color magick can be a part of glamour magick too! just pick the right color behind your intention and add it to your outfit or makeup or paint your nails with that color.

hair:

i already mentioned how washing and conditioning your hair but brushing it can also be a great ritual! brush it gently and repeat your spells and affirmations. your hair easily absorbs energy, it's like a sponge. so if you give it as much love and care and positivity as possible, there will be no space left for any negativity.

Charging & enchanting Jewelry

This is something I recently began doing. So get whatever jewelry you have that you wear often, I use rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets (can be those cute friendship ones) and I just smoke cleanse it. I'm not picky on the incense, I use traditional ones from my religion, I use eucalyptus. Anything really. Smoke cleanse it and find a dish or a plate or anything to keep it on. I have repurposed an ashtray that I cleaned and cleansed. then after that, I get each jewelry one by one, place it on the palm of my hand and cover it my other hand. I visualize and think on what I want to charge and enchant this jewelry with. In my case, I charged it with confidence and beauty, the feeling of confidence and the feeling you get when someone compliments you. I charged it and visualized that energy surrounding and coating the jewelry. Do this one by one you're done.

The dish I place on my altar and every evening after a day of using my jewelry, I place it back in there to recharge. And when I tell you this works! I've gotten such a confidence boost. I used to be terrified of telling restaurant waiters to cancel orders or that they got my order wrong (simple things but effective), I used to have horrible social anxiety. But once I began charging my jewelry, I was able to speak out, speak in public. I actually impulsively decided to enter a poetry contest without realizing that I had to read it out loud to the judges. I was terrified but I managed to do it! The giddiness that rushes in you after doing something you never you thought you could is amazing!

Glamour magick is a spell that you cast on yourself to change how others perceive you. 

The key to this working is to manifest your intent. It's a placebo effect. If you believe it is real, it will become real (in a sense). 

Normally glamour magick is preformed while getting ready for the day, night, or an event (school, date, outing exc. exc.) Which means it blends into the mundane. 

You can create oils and blends anything your heart desires, even magickly infused foods and drinks, or you can use what you already have: shampoo, hair brush, makeup, moisturizer, toothpaste exc exc.

When casting a spell or manifesting a wish, do not focus on the thing — focus on the feeling.

I am struggling with finding source for how magical associations developed. Like amethyst being for dreams, air, and crown chakras. I cam find lists, but many of the items I feel called to use are not listed, especially local flora/fauna.

I'm not really interested in the source, more in how the associations developed so I can work on developing my own associations for unlisted items. Any advice?

I'll do you one better. Here's an exercise I wrote to help develop magical uses for local plants that don't necessarily have a presence in the Western herb magic canon. It relies on the physical appearance of the plant, as well as any chemical or medicinal properties, practical uses, and folkloric associations. The overall model is not dissimilar from the standard setup you'll see for most plant magic, just without references to deities, planets, astrological, elements, or gender.

A lot of the associations developed out of folklore or old-timey medical practices (especially when it comes to plants), which is why there seems to be a lot of variation. Modern witchcraft and paganism have added their own spins and associations as various authors have weighed in on the topic, and quite a lot of the stone and gem associations were straight made up in the mid-20th century.

(There are medieval and Renaissance associations for a lot of major gems and metals, true, but most of the currently-cited information was added to the witchcraft canon, such as it is, within the past century. At least some of this was due to the counterculture free-associating ideas from unrelated cultures and belief systems, and the resulting correspondences got rolled into the modern witchcraft movement along the way.)
