Funniest thing ffxiv has ever done is still the window that shows up when youre turning in one of the later stages of the arr relic that your weapon only has a 1.4% chance of not breaking but actually its 100% & the game is literally taking the piss out of you. Why would they do that

i think like how healers in ffxiv have the rescue ability to drag people to where they're currently standing, they should give tanks a new ability that pushes people away from them, with the intention tanks can use it when someone is going to get hit by a cleave or something. we can call it 'get down mr president'. nothing bad could possibly come from this

So, my family all play the critically acclaimed mmorpg Final Fantasy XIV with free trial up to Stormblood and level 70 with no restrictions! And the dungeons in DT gave my sister seizures and we haven't been able to play since. She's still recovering. In the meantime, I have acquired Easy Eyes and I've been hammering away at the dungeons and trials of DawnTrail to make this shit actually safer for her to play. And obviously I'm finna share that hard work with all the migraineurs and epileptics that want to get through the game.

My plan is to work backwards (I started on the EW dungeons today) and get all the dungeons and trials safer. The norm and alliance raids are gonna take A While, mostly because I have to run them with people instead of the trust and there's so many more effects to sort through.

In the meantime, if you didn't know, EasyEyes is a plugin for Dalamud (ie it's a mod). You can import presets into it to block all the vfx in the preset without having to run the duty and manually block everything yourself. That's obviously not safe, hence me doing it. You can find it on xma (Safer DT Dungeons and Trials). It's a zip folder with each dungeon and trial labelled as individual presets. You just have to hit import and pick them, super easy.

Please be aware that it's super difficult to turn off vfx in the background, and I left a lot of small vfx untouched for aesthetic, but I very much took out everything glaringly obvious, or that my sister explicitly complained about, and more. Some of the vfx turned off are going to make it harder for you to position yourself to avoid attacks, so please keep that in mind, but safety trumps a healer's feelings!

I'll post each expac as I finish them and I sincerely hope more people are able to get back into the game because of my work.

Working on the presets for the Arcadion. Already have the dungeons and trials up to 7.4 with the exception of the Monster Hunter crossover and anything related to Hildibrand. Still haven't actually been able to get into Jeuno: The First Walk cuz the queue times have been outrageous even as a healer. I'll keep trying though. The arcadion raids are rough. Certainly exciting! But also it's hard to figure out what to turn off in several of them that also won't make it impossible for people to position themselves. I literally have to stress test them on my sister, because the vfx don't bother me, which sucks. That's not happening this week though, it's supposed to rain several days this week and that lowers her threshold.

Floating the idea of starting a ko-fi to support this project. It's time-consuming and it'd pay my sub so I can work on it in a more timely manner. I am glowering at Endwalker and ShadowBringers especially since I know several of those dungeons and trials are flashy. Let's not even get into the monstrosity that are the Nier raids. Idk yet though. I care more about people being able to safely play the game than money, so I'll do it regardless. Thoughts?

Reminder to anyone using my presets that they can be freely edited by you! You can view each one individually in Easy Eyes and decide to keep it turned off or turn it back on. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but you can also capture vfx and try to turn off anything that I didn't turn off if you want. Freely customizable! Just stay safe darlings.
