Hi (sorry about annon I'm shy)!

I do agree, as that was their original names. But, I changed them, because I myself am a feminine boy, but still identify as boygoop instead of girlgoop. It felt generally wrong to do that, and I'm unsure why. Just my inner moral compass, I guess?

Hey, just a little note for boygoop and girlgoop. You do not have to identify as a boy or girl to be either of those, but you still can even if you do. This is why I put "masculinity" and "femininity" instead of "boyhood" and "girlhood."

help fight against the winnebago tribe’s ban of gay marriage!

a friend just sent me this video about how the winnebago tribe banned gay marriage recently. in the video, hucpiga (he/they) talks about how this came about and asked for help to share this information around. he later shared this video with more explanations and this video with a link to send an email to the winnebago tribe’s council about this. you can find the link to send an email to them here

initially i was wary of sending an email about internal tribal leadership and issues as a non-native and especially as a white person, however i’ve seen him say that they have no issue with whites and other non-natives sharing and sending emails, so that’s good to know. i’m sharing this because there hasn’t been really any coverage of it, so if you have tiktok please go support hucpiga and, even if you’re not in the usa, you can send an email to their tribe. a screenshot of the message format that hucpiga created, along with a transcription, is provided below if you want a sort of script for what to say in your email. 

Transcript reads: 

“Hello. I am (your name) and I am reaching out on behalf of the two-spirits and LGBTQ+ community in the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska regarding the decision about LGBTQ+ marriage rights on the April 8th of 2022 tribal council meeting. I demand that effective and responsible action be taken to reverse the ban on LGBTQ+ marriage in the Winnebago Tribe and respectfully ask that Aric Armell, Isaac Smith, Rona Stealer and Kenny Mallory step down from their position on the tribal council. It has become evident that these members do not have the best interest of the tribe and are aiding in violating human rights and are directly harming members in The Winnebago Tribe with their abuse of power and tribal sovereignty rights. Thank you.”
