You're not alone if this week as been a bit rough for you too. We're all going through something at various levels.
My biggest struggle this week has been navigating how hard narcolepsy, chronic fatigue, and insomnia has been taking a toll on my body. It's been a couple years since I've felt symptoms this strong, but it's like on a whole other level this time. I'm still processing it, trying to find new ways to manage best I can.
Hardest part is being in limbo. Waiting for bursts of energy and alertness to come so I can try to work and do things I love, which is creating! As well as, waiting for new testing and hopefully soon updated treatment plan to help get back to at least how I was a month ago. Shoot I'd even take 2 weeks ago me. 💯
Last week I managed to get my concept sketch down for the #juneinbloom2023 secret garden prompt.
I decided it was the perfect opportunity to practice and Strengthen my skills at children's illustration. Ya know creating more of a visual story with characters interacting in an environment.
I remember my younger artist self. how much I loved illustrating a story. I want to get back to those roots of me as an Illustrator. I can definitely see the growth of how I approach character design and composition I've developed over the years. Look forward to seeing how I can continue to grow my skills.
Not gonna lie it can be very frustrating having to work around physical limits. It can be depressing, stressful, annoying on those low moments. However, when God shows me something or He brings something to my attention, no matter how small it is, inspiration sparks. There's hope in trying again cause deep down I know it will get better. He did it before, He'll bring me back to that point again where I'll have more days with energy & alertness.
