Sims 4: Lepacy Challenge

Hi everyone! I'm Mojom and I'm really excited to share with you my take on the lepacy challenge for the Sims 4!

The idea for this lepacy is to experience and re-explore the game by playing with every pack one by one and see everything they really have to offer.

Each generation focuses on either an expansion or a game pack (I also included stuff packs when I thought it could work well with the generation - or that stuff pack came out around the same time). You can add the kits and the free holiday stuff whenever you want though!

I also thought of different ways to play this challenge:

You disable everything but the base game (as well as the kits and the free holiday stuff if you want) and you add the packs as the generations come - you can use James Turner's disable packs code for that,

You keep everything in the game, but just disable the gameplay aspects that can be disabled (fame, eco footprint, snow...) - that's the way I decided to play because I'm lazy and I couldn't wait for Seasons, and also I get to see some cross-pack gameplay that I didn't know existed!

You can also pick (randomly or not) which generation to play with!

When the next generation is born, that's when the next pack can be either enabled or that’s when you can start to add some items from that “new” pack to start exploring the "new" gameplay.

The typical rules of the legacy challenge apply: play on normal lifespan, no money cheats...

Of course, feel free to play however you want! And if there is a pack you do not own, feel free to skip either the generation or the goals that you won't be playing with! The most important thing is for you to have fun playing the game!

Gen 1: Base Game

Back in Sunset Valley, everyone told you it was impossible to make it as a comedian there. So you decided to leave for Willow Creek, where you heard your chances were much greater. Now here you are, ready to be the funniest Sim in town!

Just a Kiss

'He looked around, noticing that the square was empty, the streetlight on the corner by the clinic illuminating the path to her place. He would ask to walk her home. [...] They entered the pool of golden light and he felt a soft touch on his arm. He looked into her eyes, seeing the blush on her face, as she came to a stop in front of him.

"Harvey…" Her voice was quiet, a slight shake as she drew in a stuttered breath. "Will you kiss me?"

The words rang through him loud and clear, and for once, he didn’t feel uncertain or hesitant. He knew his answer, knew exactly what to do, there was no question. Yes. It was all he had wanted since he first laid eyes on her at The Stardrop all those months ago, since the first time they met for coffee in the Community Centre Garden, since his eyes first met hers earlier that night.

He carefully placed one hand on her waist bringing her closer, a ripple of tension passing through them both, his eyes on hers, her pupils blown wide, no other sound but their gentle breathing. With his other hand, he tenderly traced one fingertip along her jaw, suddenly aware of how tall he was compared to her. He lifted her face to his, taking in every freckle, the colour of her eyes, the flush of her cheeks, slowly brushing his thumb over her soft pink lips. She sighed and he dug his fingers into her waist, perhaps a little too eagerly, as his lips met hers for the first time. The kiss was delicate, tentative, warm, over too soon. He pulled away, looking again into her eyes, dark with desire for him. There was no turning back.'

The above is an excerpt from my spicy little story of Stardust and her Harvey, Whispered Dreams of Stardust, in which, after several months of being 'just friends', they finally share a kiss. This recently became my second most clicked on fic on AO3 so I decided to celebrate by commissioning the most lovely @sunshinecovey to capture the moment. Sunny has been a complete pleasure to work with and has done an amazing job. This makes my little heart flutter. I love them so much. Thank you @sunshinecovey for working with me! I hope we can work together again in the future!

MODERN GODS: A MINI LEGACY CHALLENGE BASED AND INSPIRED BY GREEK MYTHOLOGY FOR THE SIMS 3

One night i suddenly had the idea of making a legacy challenge based on greek mythology (i am just a little bit obsessed). I've been working on this for a few days now and i am a little scared that i made it either too hard or too boring or maybe not challenging at all i honestly have no idea.

The reason this is called a mini legacy is because it only takes 5 generations. BUT there are 3 different 'routes' to take. The reason i went with this format was because 1. I am horrible at playing for 10 generations 2. I wanted something with less time investment. I chose the order for the generations in the routes in specific vibes and feels according to the modern characterizations (and my own a little).

Rules

Rules for this challenge is very minimal. The main goal is to complete a LTW while completing the objectives that are given. Try to complete the objectives and the LTW before your heir turns YA, but you are free to continue to the next gen whenever you want. And of course, don't cheat unless its for a bug. That's it :) !

*Please do change whatever you want if you try this challenge. You can play any generation in any order you want, you can either do all objectives or choose whichever you want to do etc., just focus on having fun!

ROUTE 1

Required EPs: University, Seasons, Ambitions, Showtime (only for traits), Generations, World Adventures, Late Night, ITF (only for a single optional objective, not a must.)

Generation 1 : Zeus

You are/named after Zeus, the god of thunders and king of all Olympians. You have a strong sense of leadership and an urge to rule over people. You believe you were born to own everything your town has to offer. You love to control others and tell them what they should do with their lives. You don’t trust people easily and don’t let them get close to you. You have a hungry heart, and you don’t care about boundaries. You do as you please and live like a king.

Generation 2: Athena

You are/named after the Goddess of Wisdom and War, Athena. You are your parent’s special little one. There is a lot of to be excepted from you, and you thrive to be the perfect possible version of yourself. You don’t have time for romance and friendships or social groups. You follow the rules and always go along with the status-quo. You dream of being something bigger than yourself, alongside with your parent’s fame.

Traits: Genius, Perfectionist, Workaholic, Socially Awkward, Un-Flirty

LTW: Perfect Student or Scientific Specialist

Career: Self-employed Inventor or Science

Objectives:

Finish 1 degree with perfect GPA

Either master the inventing skill or the science skill

Reach top of your career

Never woohoo and have a romantic relationship with another sim

Don't get along with female sims, don’t have any female friends.

Engineer a baby or clone a baby (heir)

If you master the inventing skill either create a SimBot or a Time Machine (or both)

If you master the science skill do the group science project (all three activated)

Optional: Create a PlumBot and give it sentience

Generation 3: Ares

You are/named after the God of War, Ares. You are quick to anger and always seem to be looking for a fight. You always live your life to the extreme. You don’t possess your parent’s calm and collected side. People around you seem to think you are the black swan of your legacy, the pea-brained only understands brute force type of person. But you have a strong sense of family, and you dream of having a family you can protect of your own.

Traits: Hot-Headed, Dare Devil, Family Oriented, Hopeless Romantic, Absent-Minded

LTW: Become an Astronaut or Firefighter Superhero

Career: Military or Firefighter

Objectives:

Fight with someone everyday

Own a motorcycle

Have a romance with a sim who is already in a relationship. Break them up and marry with this sim.

Have a good relationship with your child/children

Master martial arts skill

Complete the Grand Master challenge

Generation 4: Apollo

You are/named after the God of music, arts and protection, Apollo. You shine like the sun, and you know you are destined to be a star. You have family that loves you and encourages you to be an artist. You seem to be loved and love being loved. You just have so much love to give to everyone that you can’t seem to keep track of most of them. You give people around you a sense of warmth even though sometimes you don’t know what happens to half of them as it seems they suddenly disappear out of nowhere. You strive to be a people's person and serve your art to the public.

Traits: Virtuoso, Artistic, Loves the Heat, Star-Quality, Irresistible

LTW: Golden Tongue, Golden Fingers, Master of the Arts, Rock Star or Superstar Actor

Career: Teacher, Actor or Music

Objectives:

Master at least 2 different musical instruments

Master painting skill

At least be level 5 in your career but don’t master it

Dance at the spring festival and be spring king

Have multiple lovers at the same time (maybe some of them die mysteriously and tragically?)

Go to the summer festival at least 4 times (take your lovers with you)

Optional: If you have NRAAS Woohooer, use risky woohoo with your lovers every time.

Generation 5: Hermes

You are/named after the God of Mischief, roads, boundaries and messengers, Hermes. Since you were born you loved to cause chaos and mischief wherever you go. You dream of traveling the world and meeting new people, but also you can't stop the craving of being just a little bit rebellious. You have a habit of taking stuff from people and not giving them back. You have a long way to go before you achieve your dreams so get set, ready, and go!

Traits: Petty Thief (kleptomaniac), Rebellious, Athletic, Charismatic, Friendly

LTW: Possession is Nine Tenths of the Law, Become a Master Thief or Seasoned Traveler

Career: Criminal or Journalism

Objectives:

Master athletic skill

Go on runs everyday

Complete the Marathon Runner challenge

Befriend people to get into their homes and steal their stuff

Start stealing 1 item a day and slowly steal more and more (Every 2 days or so)

Visit all WA worlds at least 1 time (steal from these worlds too)

Have a 5-star blog and ask for donations daily

ROUTE 2

Generation 1: Poseidon

You are/named after the Sea God, Poseidon. You came to the islands one day in search of a certain feeling. You always felt like there was more to see beneath the sea, more to discover. You dream of creating your own empire beneath and underneath, claiming your throne as the king of the seas.

World: Isla Paradiso

Traits: Ambitious, Angler, Equestrian, Loves to swim, Sailor

LTW: Resort Empire or Deep Sea Diver

Career: Angler or Scuba Diver

Objectives:

Master Diving skill

Live as closely to the sea

Own a boat

Master Fishing Skill

Meet and befriend Mermaids

Become a mermaid and marry a mermaid

Create a resort empire

Have 5 children

Have a best friend and have them as a mentor for your heir when they are growing up. (Walking, talking, homework etc.)

Optional: Buy/Breed the best horse possible and win competitions. (IDK if this would work on Isla Paradiso but the reason I wanted to add this is because Poseidon is also associated with horses.)

Generation 2: Achilles

You are/named after the Greek Hero, Achilles. You started life early with consant training and lessons from your mentor. There are high expectations for you from all around you. You are a protector and a lover, you protect those you love. You care for the weak and uplift them in their troubles. But sometimes you can get childish, and not see what is in front of you.

Stay in Isla Paradiso or move to Sunlit Tides

Traits: Athletic, Brave, Brooding, Good, Charismatic

LTW: Seaside Savior, Renaissance Sim or Perfect Mind, Perfect Body

Career: Lifeguard

Objectives:

Meet your soulmate and marry them.

Master the Athletic Skill

Master the Logic Skill

Master the Guitar Skill

Reach top of the lifeguard career

Have a close relationship with your mentor and be well liked by the townsfolk

Have only 1 child. (You can only have your child by means other than Try for Baby. So, no baby by birth.) (This also doesn’t have to be by in game features. You can come up with a story idea and just say that's how the baby appeared! It’s up to you.)

Optional: Die while doing something Heroic.

Optional: Lose your soulmate tragically.

If you did the optional Horse one in Gen 1: Continue to take care of your father’s horse.

Generation 3: Aphrodite

You are/named after the Goddess of love, lust and passion, Aphrodite. You are beautiful inside and out and everyone around you seems to agree. You are wanted and lusted after others, and you like to give them what they want, if there is something to enjoyable for you too. You are sometimes reckless and tend to go straight into danger, but you are also quite clever when you need to be. People might think you are only made of looks, but certainly there is a more dangerous and forgotten side of you too.

Stay in Isla Paradiso or Sunlit Tides

Traits: Flirty, Charismatic, Schmoozer, Great Kisser, Irresistible

LTW: Heartbreaker or Master Romancer

Career: Politics, Stylist or Fortune Teller (Scam Artist)

Objectives:

Marry in your YA days, never be faithful and have several lovers. Then divorce in your adulthood and marry the lover you actually love.

If you see/know a couple, break them up and flirting with one of them.

Have at least 1 enemy. Start fights.

If you have the NRAAS Woohooer KamaSimtra mod: Master the KamaSimtra skill and register as a professional.

Generation 4: Artemis

You are/named after the Goddess of the moon and hunting, Artemis. While your parent was popular and was surrounded by people, you chose to be alone. You never felt at home at the sea, the forests were calling your name. In your loneliness you found yourself people that understood you. You became a leader to them, and you prefer to travel with your devoted pack. You are caring and a protector.

Move to Moonlight Falls or Hidden Springs

Traits: Loner, Nurturing, Animal Lover, Gatherer, Dramatic

LTW: Leader of the Pack or The Animal Rescuer

Career: Daycare or Teacher

Objectives:

Never marry and woohoo with another sim

Live as close to the forest/mountains as possible

Adopt a child

Become a werewolf and have a faithful pack

Hunt with your pack every week (or whenever you want honestly)

Purchase the Alpha Wolf LTR

Adopt several strays and have strong relationships with them

Master the Collecting skill

Generation 5: ECHO, echo, echo...

You are/named after the Oread Nymph, Echo. You lived in the forests all your life with your little pack and was always fascinated with people outside of it. You love attention and seek it constantly. Even with hardships it is hard to make you feel defensless. You don't take no for an answer and are always hopefull for the future.

Moonlight Falls or Hidden Springs

Traits: Green thumb, Unlucky, Hopeless Romantic, Easily Impressed, Good

LTW: Fairytale Finder, The Zoologist or Greener Gardens

Career: Self-employed Sculptor or Gardener

Objectives:

Become a fairy

Live as close to the mountains as possible

After becoming a fairy, you are ‘’cursed’’. You cannot socialize with other sims.

Be In love obsessed with one (1) sim and stalk pursue them. (This is the only sim you can interact with, but try to only use your fairy abilities.)

Level up as a fairy and try each new ability on your love. Especially the traps. (How else are you supposed to gain their attention?)

Make an ice sculpture of your love

Have a garden that mostly consists of trees and mushrooms

Complete the mushroom collecting challenge

Get rejected by your love, never to be seen again.

You are free from your curse once you max your fairy level, find someone who will actually love you back.

ROUTE 3

Required EPs: Late Night, Ambitions, Supernatural, Pets, World Adventures, Showtime, University (traits)

Generation 1: Hades

You are/named after the King of the Underworld, Hades. People around you seems to be scared of you, even afraid to utter your name. You own and control a important part of your town and enjoy your work. You get angry when things don't go as planned and you don't take no for an answer. You achieve the things you put in your mind. Because of your dark aura people seems to not get close to you, but you prefer your solitude anyways.

World: Bridgeport (for gen 1 and 2)

Traits: Grumpy, Evil, Dog person, Hot-Headed, Dramatic

LTW: Emperor of Evil

Career: Crime (Evil branch)

Objectives:

Own a bar

Reach top of your career

Own 3 dogs that are very similar to each other in looks

Find your queen love and invite them to your home lot. Don’t let them leave the lot until you get engaged.

Learn piano skill (you don’t have to master it)

Generation 2: Dionysus

You are/named after the God of wine and festivity, Dionysus. You love partying, drinking and having a good ol' time. You have such a charisma to you it seems to attract people to you like moths to a flame. When you are with people, having fun, you create a safe space for those who cannot have it. You are not always all party and fun but you live your life to enjoy it.

Traits: Party Animal, Unconventional (insane), Irresistible, Snob, Charismatic

LTW: Bottomless Nectar Cellar, Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous or Master Mixologist

Career: Self-employed Nectar Maker

Objectives:

Master nectar making skill

Master mixology skill

Complete the master mixologist challenge

Produce perfect quality nectars

Go to parties and bars almost every day (try to gain access to popular clubs)

Become a 5-star celebrity

Have several lovers

Optional: If you have NRAAS Woohooer always use risky woohoo with your lovers

Generation 3: Circe

You are/named after the Ocean Nymph and Sorceress, Circe. You don't let anybody tell you what to do. You carve your own path and learn to adapt to your surroundings. You are powerful and if you sense danger you are not afraid to use your powers. People are afraid of you but you don't mind to them, you live your own truth.

Recommended world: Hidden Springs or Twinbrook

Traits: Rebellious, Bookworm, Commitment Issues, Eccentric, Genius

LTW: Alchemy Artisan, Master of Mystiscm, Mystic Healer or Zombie Master

Career: Fortune Teller (Mystic Branch)

Objectives:

Live as closely to the forest as possible and live as away from the public as possible

Become a witch

Bring chaos to the public with your magical powers every time you level up

Have a familiar

Master alchemy skill

Create the Midas Touch elixir but save it for your next generation

Turn at least 6 male sims into a zombie and a toad

Use the conjure apple and conversion ritual spells for side money making

Have 1 enemy and use the hunting curse on them

Try dating 2-3 times but break up with each of them. Have a child with one of them, don’t get married.

Optional: Turn someone into the Tragic Clown

Generation 4: Medusa

You are/named after one of the three Gorgons, Medusa. You feel as your life was taken from you before you were even born. Your parent is a recluse and you don't understand much of the general public and they don't understand you. You have a strong kinship with snakes, almost as if they are the only creatures that actually understands you. You keep the elixir your parent gave to you very carefully, in case you might need it.

World: Twinbrook

Traits: Savvy Sculptor, Shy, Over-Emotional, Animal Lover, Grumpy

LTW: Turn the town or Descendant of Da Vinci

Career: Sculptor

Objectives:

Live near the swamp

Become a vampire

Turn 5 sims into vampires

Master sculpting skill

Use the midas touch elixir on a sim you hate

Have every single pet snake (8)

Have a child from a one-night stand, don’t get married

Don’t have a good relationship with your child

Generation 5: Orpheus

You are/named after the legendary musician and prophet, Orpheus. You spend most of your time studying, learning and practicing music. It is truly your first love. From a young age you realize you are truly gifted and you pursue this in your adulthood. The only thing you ever want to do in your life is sing and play. But you also in search of love, and you will do anything for the one you love. This passion shows its self in your music. Your music reaches so many people that it creates a cult following. You will feel grateful for your fans for the rest of your life.

Traits: Inappropriate, Natural Born Performer, Virtuoso, Hopeless Romantic, Socially Awkward

LTW: One Sim Band or Vocal Legend

Career: Singer, Band or Music

Objectives:

Reach top of your career

Master every single musical instrument available

Only ever fall in love once, ask their parents' permission to marry

After getting engaged, lose your lover tragically

Don’t fall in love again

Be friends with other musicians and jam together

Have a dedicated fan-base

Spring into Summer & Fall into Winter - challenge

A Sims 4 seasons challenge with very bad play on words. You get it? Spring, summer, fall & winter? Ahhh, never mind…

I am not aware of any challenges for seasons yet, so I decided to give it a try. The challenge is a 4 generation-legacy challenge, so short but not short, if you get what I mean 😉

The challenge wishes to explore the expansion pack, because there is a lot of new stuff! It also forces you to create some new holidays you can spend with your loved ones.

If you decide to give this a go, please use the hashtag #springtowinter.

There are some basic rules for the challenge:

You may start off generation 1 with §50.000 by using the money cheat (type money 50000 in the command), but no more cheats after this.

Lifespan must be set to normal, and season length must be set to 14 days (the normal is 7, so remember changing this)

A sim may only use an anti-aging potion ONE TIME in their lifetime, this includes the Potion of Youth and milking the cow plant.

If you don’t own a pack that dictates a trait, aspiration, career or goal, replace it with something you think will fit.

You do NOT have to complete the goals within a game-season - each generation represents a season, so you play in their lifetime.

When a child becomes a young adult, the next generation begins.

💐 Generation 1 - Spring:

Traits: Romantic, loves the outdoors & vegetarian

Aspiration: Soulmate

Career: Gardener (Floral Designer-branch)

Spring has sprung, and the vegetables begins to sprout. As a romantic, you find this season to be the best. The flowers begin to bloom, bees are in the air, and the smell of rain. Ahh, you love it. The only thing missing, is someone to share it with.

Goals (You MUST complete all to move on to the next generation):

Declare your love for rain (interaction in the friendly-category)

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘Earth day’. It must take place in the spring. Traditions must be: Gardening, give flowers, and thankful spirit.

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘Egg-stravaganza’. It must take place in the spring. Traditions must be: Flower bunny, egg hunt, and baking.

Get a beebox and fill up the relationship bar with them

Get to level 10 in the flower arranging-skill

Complete all traditions in the Love Day-holiday

Complete all traditions in the Earth Day-holiday

Complete all traditions in the Egg-stravaganza-holiday

Complete the aspiration

☀️ Generation 2 - Summer:

Traits: Good, hot-headed (get it?) & perfectionist

Aspiration: The Curator

Career: Secret agent (Diamond agent-branch)

Summer has always been your favorite season, because it seems like everything is perfect. And, as a completionist, you have always been obsessed with perfect things, and always want to collect everything, while doing something good for the world.

Goals (You MUST complete all to move on to the next generation):

The generation heir must, as a child, join the scouts (afterschool-activity), and collect all of the scout-badges (THIS MUST BE DONE AS A CHILD, SO PLEASE BE AWARE)

Declare your love for sunshine (interaction in the friendly-category)

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘Be Proud’. It must take place in the summer. Traditions must be: Drinking, decorate, party spirit and romantic spirit.

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘Summerfest’. It must take place in the summer. Traditions must be: Bar-B-Que, fire, water fun, and tell stories.

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘Day of the Dead’. It must take place in the summer. Traditions must be: Rembrance, grand meal, decorate, tell stories, and attend holiday ceremony.

The happy mood, the food, and spending time with the family makes you as happy as you can get. You know that your parents has not been the greatest of people, so you decide that you want to be that. The best parent in world even.

Create a new holiday (in the calendar) named ‘A Wintery Welcome’. It must take place in the winter. Traditions must be: Festive lighting, festive spirits, polar bear plunge, and fasting.

Build 5 different snowpals (it is random, but there is 15 available, so it should be possible)

Only give birth once! - and that must be with father winter

Complete all traditions in the Winterfest-holiday

Complete all traditions in the New Year’s eve-holiday

Complete all traditions in the A Wintery Welcome-holiday

how a legacy blooms: a flower-based legacy challenge

hi! i make a lot of gardener sims for some reason, so i had the idea to create this legacy challenge based on the ten flowers you can find in the sims 4 base game & their real-life flower meanings. the generations are loosely arranged based on the in-game flower rarities. i wanted to make sure i included gameplay opportunities, traits, and family dynamics that i didn’t really play with a lot, so that i would find new ways to play the game while playing through this myself.

the rules, generations, mod suggestions, and required packs are under the cut because this post is so long. putting it together took me a while so i hope you enjoy reading <3
