I think I finally found the worst book I have ever read in my fucking life.

CW: child abuse/exploitation, misogyny, and bible-thumping all wrapped up in a little paperback. It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to my tumblr, and I think I might go ahead and try to use my blog more often. Maybe I’ll post sneak peeks of videos before I upload them. Back to the topic at hand, I made these three videos because I saw Rachael Oates’s two videos on this book, and it inspired me to do a breakdown of everything wrong with this book, titled “To Train Up a Child”.

I made 3 videos on this book, each one covering seven of the twenty one chapters respectively, and in order. This book is one of the most disturbing and horrific things I have read in a VERY long time. The way the authors write reminds me of how people’s parents were described on r/raisedbynarcissists. Please spread awareness about this, because this book is dangerous and is responsible for influencing the deaths of 3 adopted children. More people need to know what this book is actually preaching rather than just what it claims. It gives an entirely new meaning to the phrase “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.”

Pedophilic disorder is when you are distressed or have urges to hurt children. Most MAPs don’t have the latter. The attraction in itself can’t be cured, trying it means doing conversion therapy which is torture.

Nobody in the MAP community condone harming kids. That’s actually the opposite since anti-contact MAPs mean MAPs that don’t try to have romantic or sexual relationships with minors.

Okay I saved this because that’s just homophobia. I never said I was a MAP, I’m a gay male. I know I’m attracted to males since I’m 6, without trying it with a guy before.
