Thoughts about this AU because it makes me so happy AAAA
Flambae vehemently claimed he did NOT need a vacation (yes, his cardiovascular system is a mess, his cortisol levels are sky high, but that means nothing, ROBERT) and now he wants to live on a beach
He thought not being recognized would've been a bigger blow to his ego, but. It isn't, strangely.
He laughs in food markets and has screaming matches at red lights and drowns in sunshine on beaches with coffee staining his teeth, and no one gives a damn about the fire in his hands.
NATURALLY the z team follow him there, let’s be real.
In their defense, this disaster of a man hasn't sent a sloppy photoshoped frog meme in two days. IN HIS DEFENSE. he genuinely thought this was a vacation for all of them.
Now his vacation house (thank you, Flamdad) is filled with his very grumpy friends which demand to be compensated via pesto lasagna
and a very glary boyfriend. Who's not swayed by the avalanche of kisses Chad has to offer.
“Is there a reason you haven't texted me for days?” “I thought you were doing your own thing! This was kind of a present for you. AND! I got you souvenirs. Look at this dog keychain.”
Needless to say, Flambae has a lot to make up for. But a few baked goods and slow car rides to all the places he fell in love with do help.
One of my favorite tropes is Robert being in a perpetual state of ‘I love this man so much. I keep not knowing things about him and it bothers me immensely.’
Because Flambae genuinely has 50 hobbies and counting.
It ranges from ‘Flambae sketching Robert while he sleeps and drawing stars across his freckles’ to ‘Okay guys, I’m gonna go cave diving.’
Robert is so stressed. “…You almost drowned in a sensory deprivation tank. You hate dark places.’’ “Bob-Bob, drowning is a state of mind. And you’re in my will, so it’s fine.” “That is NOT what I’m concerned about.”
But Flambae takes him to this pocket of quietness, in a random little patch of grass covered in sunspots. They’re eating on top of his car.and Flambae smiles at him. “I don’t think you’re gonna get another break from me, for a while.”
And Robert can’t think of a time when he longed to remain in someone’s life so much. “Thank god.”
