“There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.” ― Laurell K. Hamilton, Mistral’s Kiss
drama viewers: team inho
manhwa readers: team jung
lmao i think this is quite true since in the drama they’re pushing for a love triangle, but in the manhwa, (in my experience reading it…), you’ll just see inho as the bestfriend type cos seol-inho relationship wasn’t romanticized at all.
Idk but I like inho in the webtoon... Also inho in kdrama but the writer kinda ruined it :/
Cheese in the Trap ep 16
So I finally mustered up the courage to watch the last episode and before I watched it, I read so many peoples recaps that I decided I hated the ending. I was already angry because Park Haejin was treated so unfairly and then JungSeol not ending up together pissed me off even more. But now that I watched it, I’m not angry? I’m not 100% satisfied either but I liked it.
When Yoo Jung was talking to his dad and he was so angry that his dad never thought about Seol’s safety and health it showed how much he loved Seol. All he cared about at that moment was her and there was no doubt that he wouldn’t leave her side. But when his dad basically blamed him for Seol getting hurt, it broke my heart. Jungs eyes (Haejin’s brilliant acting) just hit me hard.
The scene where Yoo Jung is sitting beside her holding her hand and they’re both having their inner monologues, I loved that part. It showed how special Seol felt because she knew Jung only showed that unique and honest side of him to her. He could be vulnerable and not so cautious all the time. And Seol loved that. Then, we see Jung finally realizing that his actions had some horrible consequences on the others. He understood their feelings, and he understood because of Seol. It’s some major development on his part, and I would’ve loved if that development wasn’t so short but eh. Jung also says how he never thought he could like someone so much like the way he liked Seol and that was both amazing and scary for him. I loved those lines so much because its so honest. He was never afraid to admit his feelings for Seol.
Then when Jung told Seol he would love Seol again when he knew he was ready and he was sure he wouldn’t hurt her, I was so proud. Because although I wish he didn’t break up with her, it was a really big step. Jung knew he had a problem and he was going to try to fix it. He knew Seol couldn’t just let him off the hook every time he did something shady so hes taking time for himself. Because it is so important to love yourself before you can love someone else. So by him taking the time for himself, hes actually making sure he can love Seol even more. But when Seol said “But I’m fine” and her voice broke I wanted to give up on life because she looked so broken. Another moment that just downright killed me was when Seol was in her room. She was dressed to go stop Jung from leaving but she was waiting and it was already 3:01 and she just broke down crying because she knew he was gone. I took it as Seol sending Jung off because she knew it would be good for him. They were both so mature about this whole thing, it was bittersweet.
I’m so glad that Inho didn’t try to swoop in and try to date Seol. If he did, I don’t know what I would’ve done. I’m glad he remained her friend. Because sometimes you don’t need your boyfriend, you need your friend.
Then finally 3 years later, that scene where she’s looking at all her sent emails. Those gave me so much hope! She didn’t give up and I knew she wouldn’t. She understands he needs time and while she is anxious and says she is losing a little interest, (that was really honest of the writers) she knows she’ll never fully forget Jung Sunbae. Then it suddenly changed to Read and I swear you probably heard my screams. And his “Seol ah” made me scream even harder. It was an open ending so I choose to believe my ending. Yoo Jung is finally back in Korea after three years and he’s ready to face Seol again. He’s ready to love her again with confidence. He never stopped loving her actually. Them crossing each other on the roads was their new beginning. They didn’t have a smooth beginning in the first episode so it makes sense for them to have to work for their love again.
Of course, I would’ve loved them to have a ending where it was more obvious that Jung and Seol were together but the drama was already going downhill. I personally wished that after the three year jump they would’ve ended on a shot of his hand and he would be wearing the ring, but I lost faith in the PD a few episodes back.
I think I still really like this drama because the beginning was just too amazing, everything was perfect. All the actors are so talented, and I really REALLY hope Park Hae Jin and Kim Go Eun act together in another drama, preferably as lovers (lol).
I’m glad I watched the last episode because it gave me closure, if I didn’t I probably would’ve still been really angry.
Just a cute yoseob to brighten up your day Also he's so cute I can't help it

I still can’t believe Ezekiel adopted a gargoyle everyone considered as a pest and treated it with so much love and respect it was willing to die for him the same day. I can’t believe Ezekiel was told explicitly not to look these pesky, creepy “monsters” in the eyes, under any circumstances. And then he didn’t just stop there, he took the damn thing into his arms, gave it a real name, a home, wanted to be it’s best friend. Can you imagine how lonely it must be, being a gargoyle?
I still can’t believe Ezekiel got attacked by Frankenstein’s Monster, but then quickly forgave him, befriended him, gave him the best life advice he’d ever been given, and then decided to sign him up for Tindr? I mean he just dropped the whole “almost killed you” thing and was buddy buddy. I can believe how easily Ezekiel understood and forgave him.
I still can’t believe Ezekiel spent an entire episode trying to cheer up, and then trying to save, a dying little girl? Who he met by accident? I can’t believe he dropped EVERYTHING he was doing, to teach her how to pick the lock on the dessert, just to bring a little bit of joy and freedom into her life.
Actually, scratch that. I can believe it. I can believe it all. I just can’t believe that more people don’t scream over it 24/7. Like what. What the fuck. WHAT THE FUCK. EZEKIEL YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE THE “WORST VERSION OF YOURSELF” AND YOU DO ALL THIS? AND SO MUCH ELSE?
