Breaking Down Big Brother: is this player really a legend or are they simply a white male in a game that clearly favors them?
Legend Status-
Dan: YES
Dan is one of the greatest players of all time. A strategic and ruthless player he earned his spot in the final 2 twice. Despite his horrible decision to meddle in this season he is still a legend and Dan's funeral will always be one of the most iconic moments in BB history.
Paul: NO
Paul learned nothing from his first time playing and lost not once but TWICE due to horrible jury management. Even w/ production adding the friendship twist specifically for him + his other HG's rudimentary understanding of the game he still couldn't get a win under his belt.
Will: YES
Dr. Will is not only a BB legend he's basically a BB god. Proof that this game is far more than competitions he shaped what ultimately became the way the greats played Big Brother. Funny, charismatic, and conniving he is everything you could want in a champion.
Derrick: NO
Derrick played in a season of recruits who were more interested in upholding bro code than they were with winning BB. He only won due to Cody's ridiculous choice to take him to F2 KNOWING he would lose. He's never returned as to not have to play against any real players.
Ian: YES
Ian played against some of the greatest players of all time and still managed to win. With a great read on the house and no fear of making big moves. Most notably taking out Boogie who was not only a seasoned and conniving player but who went into the game as Ian's "mentor."
Jackson: NO
Does this even need an explanation? He only won because the house was a hyper masculine and toxic environment that only targeted women and POC. Only made it to F2 with Holly because Cliff/Nicole were too stupid to split them up when Holly was OTB during Jackson's own HOH.
Andy: KIND OF
Andy played a rats game but he played it incredibly well. He is underrated for playing an ACTUAL floaters game and not just floating along hoping to make jury. Still he mostly won the final vote due to GinaMarie being so unlikable and less based on his actual gameplay.
Tyler: TBD
Tyler's jury management was SO poor. He actively isolated people knowing he was going to need their vote later. He made too many promises he couldn't keep even when they did nothing to further his game. He could redeem himself this season but based on BB20 he's not a legend.
janelle really said “new school sucks” and that’s THAT
“And as a child I’ve been bullied for being darkskinned, so much to a point where I wanted to be lighter. And it took me a while to really embrace it. But when I did, I was able to stand in all this chocolate, unapologetically.”

This is a beautiful graphic but it doesn’t explain the pros and cons of each fire type.
The Swedish torch is good for an efficient and contained fire, it’s controlled and good for cooking over and produces less light and heat than other fires. It can be difficult to keep going once you burn through the original log
The teepee is your traditional campfire. Good for heat and light not great for cooking, burns through fuel fairly quickly
The star fire is one of the slowest burning and not well protected but provides an even heat good for slow cooking and is excellent if you have limited fuel and need the protection a fire can provide
The lean to is a compact and efficient fire that evolves into a dense and hot bed of coals. The structure creates a good source of air flow which can help damp wood burn. A slightly better cooking fire that isn’t as bright. It also provides protection from wind on one side
The platform fire is incredibly hot and will create a very thick bed of coals but it doesn’t have a lot of air flow and is a little harder to get started.
The log cabin is big and bright and has lots of air flow which again is good for damp logs. You can also use this structure to start a smaller fire in the middle while drying out bigger logs. This fire will crumble into a messier bed of coals that don’t produce particularly even heat for cooking.
The modified leanto is excellent if you need it to perform multiple functions. The side with more fuel will burn bright and hot and the side with less fuel will burn less hot but more evenly and controlled, this gives you different cooking options.
