Im Molly aka Mo! I’m the artist of the blog and most well known for my TMNT2003 art and being the author of the FleetingAu, which is a TMNT03 fanart/fanfic project.

I am begging you. Please learn about stress/discomfort tolerance. Practice raising it. You need this to survive. If someone online can ruin your day with a throwaway comment, you desperately need to understand discomfort tolerance and consciously, systematically build that shit.

Also! Stress tolerance is such an important skill that having a learning disability in that area is a major symptom of a whole lot of other disabilities/mental illnesses! Struggling with it is a huge part of life! It sucks!

Am I saying everyone with misophonia needs to listen to chewing noises all day? No. But you need to find ways to tolerate it enough that you don't treat others like shit if they make a mouth noise near you.

No, you don't have to read the fic with your trigger tags. But you do need to be able to handle scrolling past the tags without being upset.

It is hard! But not having it also makes you so so so easy to manipulate. That grandma is racist AF because her mom raised her to be uncomfortable around black people and she never fought that discomfort. Trans people make so many cis people uncomfortable and that discomfort turns into bigotry real fast.

Letting your discomfort dictate your actions and beliefs about things is a great way to become a terrible person. Learn. Discomfort. Tolerance.

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT ABOUT THE RISE LIVESTREAM!

I have tried so hard to move past it & enjoy my own little story building around with these characters BUT EVERYWHERE I TURN EVERYONE & THEIR MOTHERS ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT WHATEVER THEY ASKED FROM THEIR OWN HEADCANONS/FANCANONS!

But truly 100% agree with you because we could’ve had SUCH A GREATER TIME had people asked about the show/movie & what more they could’ve done for the show & what could’ve been had they had the chance to continue it (I was so looking forward to that part!) but yet everyone just spammed them about their own stuff so I can definitely understand your frustrations towards the livestream!

I just hope that if there’s a majority of people that feel this way aren’t turned away by it & continue their own creative processes without the pressures of what had happened with the livestream 🥺

I cannot tell you how much this warms my heart to see this. That I have already gotten such an outpour of agreement about this particular thing already from friends and other blogs in the community but it genuinely means the world to me that folks have that outlet and found it in my post. Thank you so so much. Because I DO think that this is a problem indicative of a much bigger conversation, but that can't ever be addressed if we don't start small. Start with very real and recent examples. We, as Rise fans, do NOT get a lot of new content. While we can cry out and post and hope that Rise will get renewed, the likelihood of it happening is very very slim. Which MEANS we NEED to come together as a community and actually UPLIFT the THING. Not our own personal interpretation of the thing. THE THING ITSELF.

We need to buy those books and comics, talk about how much we LOVED seeing them again! How we want to see MORE! How we love the creators and all that they made and all that they COULD MAKE! If we drown out all of the things that are actually being made, because we're just propping our made up fandom shit on a pedestal above the ACTUAL CANON CONTENT, and then acting disappointed when it, predictably, doesn't reflect our fanon expectations then why would any of those creators ever want to be associated with that project ever again? Why would the corporations ever concede to more content if the people who should by vocally supporting and enjoying it are too busy bitching that a few panels don't look 'on model' enough for their tastes? (Looking at all yall who accused the comic artists for the Battle Nexus of using AI cuz a few spots of color were off. Shameful.)

We as a fandom and a community have to do better. Show a little professionalism when interacting directly with the professionals that are still out there FIGHTING TO MAKE NEW STUFF. Appreciate the things they are ACTUALLY MAKING and have made, instead of whining that your 9th Layer of Headcanon Hell take wasn't addressed to your satisfaction.

I'm a little disappointed in the Rottmnt fandom...

I've debated for a while about making this post, but it's been some time since the release of the Rise!Artbook and I wanted to talk a bit about the Rise!Livestream with Colin Stein. I was in the stream from start to finish. I spent the entire day there and got to see so many creators talk about Rise and it was a wonderful experience filled with so much love for this thing that I know we all cherish. But you wanna know what sorts of questions just completely overwhelmed any curiosity about the book itself? The process? The industry experience of these guests?? It was spam. Spam about headcanons. Ships. And fancanons. Repeating their questions to the point of blocking out any other questions that were actually FOR the creators. Repeated, almost obsessive desperate grabs to feel like your headcanon is 'canon'. We have got to do better as a community. The culture of headcanons has become so lost in the sauce these last few years that some of yall straight up do not have a single understanding of boundaries or respect when it comes to the concepts that, let's be real, are made up. You can post all you like about how 'This sexuality is canon' 'he's into this character and it's CANON' 'This particular interpretation that I made up is totally Canon!' It isn't. None of it is canon. Please for the love of God relearn what the word canon means because I don't think ya'll know it anymore. It used to be that asking ship questions to show writers and VAs at Conventions and meet and greets was bad form and inappropriate. And ya'll are out here bombarding creators about the imaginary chemistry you concocted because your favorite blorbos stood a few feet apart. It's incredibly immature, and to see how thoroughly it flooded the Rise!Artbook launch was a truly saddening thing to see from this community that claims so much to adore Rise as a whole-- seeing so many people just dip out once their fancanon was confirmed was really disappointing. Do better guys.
