One of, if not the, biggest bands to emerge from the UK this year is Royal Blood- and what a mighty emerge it has been. Their self-titled album was released in late August, and they have already been chosen as a favorite to win the coveted Mercury Prize, alongside household musicians such as Damon Albarn. As the lead single, Figure It Out is one of the main tracks that give Royal Blood their many comparisons to Muse. Most notably, the end guitar solo calling home to Micro Cuts off of 2001’s “Origin of Symmetry”. With a chorus that begs to be sang along to, this track is the perfect blend of catchy and guitar-heavy. Royal Blood have the power to revive modern rock music, and with FIgure It Out, their full potential to do so hits you like a punch in the face.
