I don’t really go here but was just watching the What Chaos Patreon ep from today and they spoiled that Jamie Drysdale will be on the regular ep Wednesday (in a pre-taped interview) and apparently Danny Briere called him about the Zegras trade before he called the players actually involved?!?! Crazy talk.
So I have my deposit in to buy my first partial season plan for caps tix (yay!) and currently think I am going to do a combo of a 10-game fixed plan and 5-game fixed plan and I’m trying to decide if I want to see if they can give me the same seats across all 15 games or if I should use this chance to experiment with having seats in different sections. Would welcome any and all input! Sections you like?

On the infamous Ryan Leonard-Will Smith history. I have the story from the early days. In December 2022, U18s Trey Augustine, Ryan and Will are named to the 2023 U.S. National Junior Team Preliminary Roster. They have to make the team still, and are expected to, even though they are underage. They are both early birthdays - relatively - so there’s not a huge age difference. The 32-player pool goes for a training camp from December, 12-17 in Pontiac, Michigan. This is about two hours from where they live together and where the final 23-man roster for the U20 World Junior Championships would be selected. That tournament took place December 26, 2022-January 5, 2023, in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Halifax, Nova Scotia. They attend camp and are taken off the regular U18 roster during that time. It’s just Gabe on 1st line. Now, Ryan actually didn’t play with Will or Gabe in his first U17 year in the program. He played up with the U18s as of about end of September 2021 and would get sent up and down between U17 and U18. He was pretty much the only call up that year and they were sparse that year on the U18s. Mostly, he played with Logan Cooley, Frank Nazar, Lane Hudson, Red Savage, Rutger McGroarty, Jimmy Snuggerud, and Cutter Gauthier. They ALL make the team. Trey makes it. Ryan and Will don’t. Will mostly played with Gabe or Ryan Fine but he was not really first line in his first year. Nor was Gabe. Then, they put them together in year two and it was fire. When they come back to their team, all three of them are on the second line and Will Vote is on the first line. There’s a photo of the lines somewhere. I’ll try to find it lol. Ryan is then REMOVED from the Gabe-Will-Ryan line for almost an entire month. Gabe is moved to R. Wing during this time and Ryan plays second line. Will Vote or call ups fill in on left. They had been lighting it up as the best line in program history. No public explanation for splitting them up, moving Gabe and bringing in a worse player to replace Ryan just months before their DRAFT. There was just no real reason aside from it being very personal. Widely believed something happened between them at that camp and that’s what led to them not making it and then them being unable to play together. It had to be BIG for those steps to be taken. They let guys work it out in their own ways all the time. Then, one day, they’re on the ice and just start playing together again. There’s a 3-guy play - Ryan-Gabe-Will - I think they set up Gabe. Then, Ryan’s back with them again. They just made it work apparently lol. When people talk about the issues, that’s what they are talking about. That’s the first documented case of something being weird between that group. They did go to the U18 team and win. Then, they went to the 2024 World Championship (not U anything). Again without Gabe. They had no issues reported.

and I was so profoundly excited to come here and explain all about how I didn't respond for a few months because I was working on my ego death (accelerated by looking in the mirror and reminding myself, "you write hockey rpf.") and so here I was, ready to just Get Over Myself already, the stories are uploaded, and I was SO enlightened and had found love in my heart for all my past selves even though they were very embarrassing, maybe even because they were embarrassing, and then when I re-read this ask it actually wasn't about that at all (more ego death, since no one was really asking to see those stories at all, but I rose above it) and now I'm here because the ask was actually:

Justin and JC become key (however also democratically elected) figures in the new administration. Joey and Justin work through the inverted power imbalance this causes—oh! let’s say Joey is nobly serving out a prison sentence for—oh, probably killing the guy who killed Lance, but insists on a trial to demonstrate that no one is above the law in the new administration.
Justin visits him in prison with his hair shorn down, wearing a fisherman sweater with sleeves pushed up over his forearms and looking terribly grown and important. They spend time really getting to know each other and discovering that in addition to their smoldering sexual chemistry which they can't act on while Joey is imprisoned (the longing!!) , they also like each other. Joey has gray streaks in his hair and wears glasses and learns how to read in prison.
Chris overcomes his past trauma and becomes a stay at home father to the orphan children he’s raising with JC and he also has a pottery studio where he makes beautiful and functional bowls and mugs and finally finds peace and sleeps through every night in bed curled up next to JC who is sometimes up late working, but only because he has found a meaning and joy through work to better society and also because sometimes the dog who sleeps at the foot of their bed and is devoted to Chris needs to go out and he doesn't want to wake Chris. (They have great sex also.)
Bug becomes a motorcycle mechanic and has an alpaca farm.
