coming back to this jamie drysdale would be a perfect peter parker thing
tzjd college au where they both play hockey and somehow jamie is also spider-man (no he doesn't sleep enough, next question).
they are best friends (but also very much in love with each other) and as spider-man, jamie is often drawn to trevor. he saved him a couple times and they sometimes meet on the roof of the frat house they both live in. but trevor has NO idea who is behind the mask. he is obsessed. and also has a tiny crush on spider-man which is kinda confusing because he knows he loves jamie more than anything. but the mystery of spider-man is compelling.
and he tried multiple time to get spider-man to show his face. he tried threats, tried the kicked puppy eyes, tried flirting.
'how am i about to kiss you to thank you with that mask ?'
the sound that spider-man was a strangled one 'you're not supposed to do that'
'your loss spidey boy'
ANYWAY trevor is talking to cam about all that, how he meets spider-man on the roof sometimes etc etc and he shows a pic of the super hero to cam who says 'huh funny how is built EXACTLY like a hockey player'. and that sends trevor on a quest because what do you mean ???? he spends weeks researching who it could be and slowly starts to notice the weird things about jamie he thought where just...jamie being jamie. but they aren't, are they ? jamie is hiding something, and that something might as well be a secret identity.
so one night they meet on the roof and as spider-man is about to leave trevor says
'good night jimbo, see you tomorrow'
and jamie freezes, forgets to deny it, forgets how to breathe. because he wanted to tell trevor so so bad it hurt his chest. and now trevor knows. a smile spread under the mask, relief so big he might fall to his knees.
'if you're up when i come back, we'll talk' is all he answers, voice a little hoarse.
so yeah, trevor stays wide awake, waiting for jamie, his spider-man, his best friend (about to become boyfriend trust me)
jamie drysdale would make an awesome spider-man
tzjd idea that might already exist out there but hey forgive me
jamie gets hit and is diagnosed with a severe concussion. temporary amnesia, forgetting people faces type of concussion. so yeah, it hurts like HELL but also he is in a constant state of panic because he doesn't remember anyone. and as soon as someone leaves his field of vision he forgets about them again. so it's a nightmare and jamie wants to fucking cease to exist because what the hell ?
anyways, here comes trevor, all scared and worried trevor, and the doc hasn't had time to explain to him. so trevor walks in, yapping jamie's ears off because he is scared and trevor handles emotions by talking a lot. it helps him quiet the buzzing sound in his ears. but when jamie blinks at him, staring like nothing makes sense, trevor stops in his tracks, heart hammering in his chest.
'hey jamie boy, you okay there ?' he asks, worried as he takes a step towards jamie who FLINCHES away.
and what ? trevor's eyes go wide because jamie never refused to be touched by trevor. other people ? yeah sure. but trevor ? his trevor ? never. so Z just stands there, drifting in what feels like the worst storm he ever faced since his trade.
'jamie ?' he asked, choking on the word.
'who are you ?' asks jamie in a tense voice, all the muscles in his body hurting. 'i want- i want trevor.' he adds. because somewhere in his brain, he knows some part of himself lives in another body. he knows he isn't complete without trevor, but the terrible thing is, he can't remember anything about trevor. just that he needs him.
and trevor stands there, lost and hurt and scared out of his mind, because he is right here. why can't jamie see he is right there ?
