I built you a tower (a) is tzjd from Jamie’s perspective after the second trade, but I built you a tower (b) is from Trevor’s perspective after the first trade. bc for both of them the way they feel is this big scary overwhelming thing they want to hide and contain before it ruins them, but while jamie can be melancholically affectionate about it and go god if only I was capable of just having you the once now that they’re back together, for Trevor it was a devastatingly lonely period of trying to figure out who he was on his own. anyways the new death cab for cutie album is pretty good
