Knock, knock, knock, knock…
The placement of an object on the surface of the hollow moon elicits a sound akin to the ringing of a bronze bell with wooden clapper. This magical sound doesn’t form sentences, it translates the unknown words in every language spoken on earth. As the sound fades it transforms in wind which flips through the sand dunes as if they're books written in braille!
I have shared with those close to me the dream I had after my father died. How I followed him to the far side of the moon and how what I saw there stunned me. Spaceships landing and taking-off escaping from the overall chaos, that reminded me of the lunacy of the boats passing through the Bosporus!
Knock, knock, knock… This was the only background noise caused by the chaos of the soundless spaceship engines.
At the first Moon exhibition, the Lunar Rover-Journalist, which documented it, emitted a sound during movement that I deliberately removed to save it for the second event. It was so unusual that I searched the internet for some kind of analogue. It turned out to be almost identical to that of Curiosity, which captures Martian landscapes.
I was fed up with painting in oils, stroke after stroke, layering light and darkness on the white canvas…
In general, I had reached the end of everything that was becoming increasingly professional, artisanal, and familiar.
When I saw the potential of the springs on which I could express myself vividly with molten metal, I also saw my future painting.
I went to extremes in experimenting with painting in oils under unsuitable lighting, to illuminate the darkness in my studio with what I created.
The cooling metal in the bed of clay seemed to call out to the paint in the tubes for a new day.
As my second and final exhibition on the lunar satellite approaches, I will engage you with this event of mine from various angles of its creation. The introduction from the first part will flow through an earthly journey of the artworks to their final places on the bright side of the Moon in this beloved project of mine!
Everything began in this small rooftop studio, from where a dream was launched toward the open cosmos!
My dream - to expose one exhibition with twelve sculptures on the moon surface is about to happen on 7th of April 2021. This live event will be tracked via satellite and could be picked up everywhere on Earth.

Because on the moon it’s just as lonesome, as it is on the web…
