i hate myself so much cos why did i make the fucking cupcake from scratch
anyways fnaf gacha designs because i really like the og animatronics
so huzzah (+the goddamn cupcake, i am so mad at myself for being this stubborn)
gonna go on a bit of a tangent here about my designing process and their mannerisms:
I didn't want to make any of them too formal because they're animatronics for birthday parties, and not everyone wears a tuxedo to their birthday. I also tried to keep that 80's-90's kinda vibe with all of them while giving them childlike designs as well.
Freddy
Freddy was a bit of a hard one to design. I wanted to make him look like the most distinguished one of the four while keeping that informal party style, which meant absolutely NO tuxedos. In the end, I gave him an open vest and some well-ironed trousers; a fine balance between yee-haw and oh-hohoho in my opinion.
I made him look a little impatient, to contrast his persistent nature at nighttime because I thought it would be a little fun, but also to make him seem frustrated about something that nobody except the other animatronics knows. He can strike up conversations, calm children and make them laugh, sometimes even managing to chalk up enough courage in them to try out the mic. Those who really enjoy a chance with it often flock around him. (They love to show off and talk to Freddy.)
Bonnie
I got a bit tired of seeing the same kind of designs for Bonnie/Bonnie's design being too similar to Freddy's, so I decided to give him some sort of grunge hippie kind of vibe(??), and to make him look more laid back and informal. His entire design and personality was made to appeal to the older kids who visit the place.
I took some inspiration from this video (which I absolutely love) and also the fact that Bonnie is seen as the most aggressive to try and make him look somewhat threatening, like a bully. He acts like how I would imagine the bassist in a rock band to act, from delivering the coolest bass solo on the block to downing an entire can of baked beans and somehow being fine. He'll never let anyone use his bass, but is just fine with jamming out with anyone who brings their own instruments, earning them a much desired high-five and spud from him. (The kids love him for his vibes and music.)
Chica
I wasn't really sure what colours I wanted to use for Chica. At first I thought 'I should use pink', but only using pink and yellow seemed boring, considering a lot of her other designs just give her yellow dresses. Then I remembered that orange exists! I also looked at 80's fashion just for reference, and tried to make her look a little 'younger' than the others as well.
I gave her extremely dilated pupils, which people excuse as a 'cute' design choice, but to make her look mad in some cases, such as when it comes to food, where she always seems rather hungry. Her stares are intense, especially at nighttime. She cooks, dances, and sings with the children, mainly the younger ones and girls, and often sends them on secret missions to prank the other animatronics. (Children love to play with her and her cupcake (which I will NOT be talking about)).
Foxy
I gave Foxy a pretty stereotypical pirate design because... well, he's a pirate. His jacket is ragged and patchy and everything white about him is yellow to really emphasise that he's a guy who sails out at sea.
Foxy is an avid storyteller, bringing up children and staff members to bring his stories to life, and they absolutely adore him for it. One of his most loved gimmicks is one where he gets up close to someone and scares them by popping his eyepatch up to reveal another eye, which gets a laugh out of everyone, young and old. (They love to just listen and interact with him.)
