This vintage Sixties Demi Parure has fabulous style. A rare find!
The 1920's were filled with glamor. I absolutely love everything about this era and since I couldn't go back in time to capture it (how cool would that be?!), I decided to get a group of amazing vendors together and set up a 1920's inspired shoot!
Rings provided by http://www.montecristosjewelry.com/ This is an absolutely beautiful vintage inspired wedding shoot by Lauryn Alisa Photography.

This beautiful vintage 1960s is hand strung with natural branch coral and mother of pearl nuggets. So Boho Chic! The mother of pearl shell beads measure approximately 1/2" - 3/4". Each bead is separated by five pieces of branch coral measuring approximate 1/4" - 3/8" long. The necklace measure 30" in length, and is endless strung without a clasp. Very good condition.
The Scent of the Magnolia...perfume of the south.
As a daughter of the south, I have a deep relationship with her flowers. Roses, jasmine, peonies, honeysuckle, iris, gardenias (oh yes! gardenias!), and the queen of flowers, magnolias. The few times I’ve house hunted, it was discovering there was a gardenia in the yard that clinched the deal.
But more than gardenias, the magnolia has a special imprint on my child self...my childhood memories. Coming in from the heat of a mid June day I would stray into my grandmother’s foyer, a grand room to a little girl. There I would lie down on her oriental rug, staring at the the crystal chandelier that seemed like it was made of diamonds to my young eyes, and take in the scent of magnolias resting in a large bowl of cool water, sitting atop mahogany chest.
My grandmother was called Pearl, but her full name was Magnolia Pearl Byrd Proctor....does it get any more southern? Everyone called her Pearl, but from time to time I would catch Granddaddy coming up to her when she was working in the kitchen, and swat her on the bottom affectionately while calling her Maggie.
My cousins and I, played in her huge Magnolia trees in the summer. Daring each other to see who could climb the highest. Scoping out the yard from a bird’s vantage point, hidden by the leathery green leaves, and surrounded by the sharp scent of the bark and the soft scent of the blossoms. It was heaven.
All these memories came flooding back after reading this short article. I’m sure every part of the country has it’s special charms, but I can’t imagine being who I am, having grown up anywhere other than a small town in North Carolina in the 1960s - 70s. Please feel free to share your flower memories in the comments.
