Missing that old zombie apocalypse au I had for object legends (mainly for rootyshine who could've guessed) and this one idea I had is very vivid in my head still.

I had an order of who would die but never decided on the specifics of it, like I knew charmy, hoppy and zenn would all be axed, leaving only rooty and shiny alone in the cabin they were sheltering at, I had a scenario where rooty ended up getting bitten while trying to fight off a newly zombiefied charmy

not wanting to let herself hurt anyone, she begs shiny to kill her off before anything happens, and shiny holding an axe over her head, her hands trembling from how nervous and hesitant she is about this, it's the logical way to go, neither of the two are any closer to finding some kind of cure/solution to the whole mess, and keeping rooty around for any longer risks her becoming apart of the mob, but rooty isn't holding up well at all, even if she's the one who recommended the idea, she doesn't want to die. she's asking shiny to make it quick so she won't feel the pain for long, she's shaking too, from the pain of her arm being bitten, from the fear of death itself, she'll have to die, she has too even if she doesn't want to, she doesn't want to die. she doesn't want—

a swing of the axe, and it hits the hardwood floor.

Shiny missed.
