Ok lets be real, if ‘the first thing you said to your soulmate is tattooed on your skin’ was real then greeting people with your full name would just be the thing that everyone did so that it would be easier to find your other half. Except that one time when your having a bad day and some idiot spills coffee all over your laptop and you spend a solid five minutes swearing at them and then they pull up their sleaves and there is your whole rant laid before you and you give a final ‘shit’.

Across the room, Adam is standing next to Gansey looking a bit pale faced despite his tanned skin.

“That’s Adam Parrish, one of his classmates” Helen replies to Antoinette, a tall older woman with hair bleached blond to ward off the gray. 

“He’s mighty handsome. Dickie sure got lucky with him,” she says with a pat to Helen’s shoulder and a wink before walking away toward the waiter holding a tray of drinks. 

Helen’s gaze follows her for a moment, a little confused by what she meant, before shaking it off and grabbing another drink for herself.

I’ve mentioned Kevin as the Exy-obsessed intrusion on some of my other posts, so consider:

Kevin sending Andrew a heads-up text when Neil overdoes it during night practices

Andrew doesn’t let Neil out of the dorm the next day and Kevin is actually okay with it

one night he just shows up outside of the Matt/Aaron/Nicky dorm and asks to sleep on the couch in order to give Neil and Andrew alone time

they didn’t even have to say anything

he gets so happy when Neil scores the winning goal during a game, slamming into him and squeezing Neil so hard

there might have been an excited corner-of-mouth kiss but no one has any pictorial evidence

Kevin tried so many times to get Neil into his weird history documentries and historical dramas before finally giving up and changing the channel back to Exy

he helps Neil memorize stuff for class because that’s one of his strongest academic skills

Kevin ends up leaving the room in frustration when Neil brings up a maths vs. history argument again (mostly along the lines of, “at least I don’t have to remember all this dumb history stuff like you”)

for some reason I’m under the impression that Neil starts fights with everyone over math vs. their faculty because he’s an instigator and because he actually likes math???

Neil was the first one Kevin actually told when he got offers for a professional team and Court (Wymack and Thea already knew)

Kevin never said anything when Court was considering Neil, since he knew that Neil would want to properly earn his spot, but he definitely was the one who went to formally ask Neil to join years later

him and Neil are together for press duty and Kevin destroys any reporters who think that they can shit on Neil

Wymack never again makes this mistake

regardless of any words about how it would have been easier if Neil was straight, Kevin never let anyone get away with homophobic comments about Andrew and Neil

a defining moment in their friendship was when an opposing backliner went for Neil and the first one there was Kevin, despite the ball already in his racquet net

of course Neil later told him that he should’ve taken the shot and scored first

he tried to let Neil deal with Jack by himself, but pulled out the “Neil is worth more on court than you will ever be” line when Jack finally takes it too far

post-university, Kevin visits Andrew and Neil’s apartment

he gets super angry and literally spends an hour and $300 getting them decent groceries

when the hospital refused to let Andrew see an unconscious Neil, Kevin used his fame to get a nurse to let “the small, angry, homicidal blond” in

Kevin signed as witness when Andrew and Neil quietly got married a week later

he was secretly crushed when he realized that his dog and Andreil’s cats don’t get along

he ended up asking Neil to be his best man

Kevin was offended but not entirely surprised that Neil’s speech was a lot less eloquent and a lot more snarky than the one he gave for Matt’s wedding

Neil is Kevin’s favourite babysitter for his and Thea’s daughter

she complains that none of her other babysitters play enough Exy with her

they win the Olympics together and Kevin looks at a madly grinning Neil, holding Andrew’s hand, and can honestly think that there’s no one else that he would rather have next to him on court; not Thea, nor Andrew, nor Riko

just consider Kevin being friends with Neil in his own subtle way

Andreil + kissing

I feel like because it’s such a little, every day thing that neither of them got to have growing up, it means so much more now and so they’ll take their damn time with their kisses and put their all into it

because their kisses mean something and they know it

just whenever they have any inkling of privacy they’ll be making out (and then eventually even when they don’t have privacy)

like Neil will start staying in the car when they go to edens when Andrew goes to park it, just so that they can spend two minutes making out once they’re there

in the kitchen when they’re making coffee and Neil is sitting on the counter with Andrew holding up his legs around his hips

and the other monsters come in and make their breakfast around them

and Neil and Andrew act like they’re not even there

also the roof, right?

it doesn’t have a ledge -  it’s just a flat roof 

so if they’re sitting there legs dangling off and lips pressed together and hands in hair

people can obviously see them?? from the parking lot?? oh well, it’s kissing time

but seriously just imagine looking up at your dorm building and seeing these two tiny boys kissing with abandon on the ledge of a 4 story building - and then on top of that, it being a normal occurrence 

and then just imagine them on their road trips

sometimes they’re literally on the road

and Andrew is driving or Neil is driving

and it’ll be late at night and they can see the stars and they’re the only ones in sight

they’ll look over at each other and how the moonlight pools along their skin

and they just pull the car to the side as quickly as possible

if it’s warm they’ll get out and lay on the hood and kiss under the stars

if it’s cold they’ll huddle in the backseat and Neil will sit in Andrews lap and kiss until the windows start to frost over before driving off again

Neil likes kissing Andrew in the places they go together - whether it’s a beautiful view or the alley behind their hotel where they went to smoke

because even though he never has to or wants to run again 

something in him likes to know that no matter where he ends up he’ll have a memory of Andrews lips on his

and then there’s rainy days right

and it’s so great cause they lived together so they’re able to do all this in college and once they’re older (ignoring that sad middle part when Andrew had graduated/they were on different pro teams)

but they like rainy days

it’s quiet and peaceful and if they don’t have practice Neil won’t get up early to run

because there’s something about watching Andrew through the haze of a cloudy day, Neil thinks it makes him the brightest thing in the room, all gold hair and honey eyes

and later they’ll make cocoa for Andrew and tea for Neil - “its leaf water josten I can’t fucking believe Kevin convinced you to drink that”

they’ll sit and Andrew will read or watch tv and Neil will watch Andrew

and eventually Andrew will take pity on him and put down his book and they’ll kiss for the rest of the night

because as much as the sensation of falling makes Andrew’s heart stutter, the way that Neil grounds him firmly to this world and this time him with their lips pressed together makes him feel just as much

The strangled noise Aaron made was his best attempt at Andrew’s name. It was barely intelligible but it was enough. Andrew, who’d barely acknowledged Aaron’s existence in the entire time Neil had known them, looked immediately to his brother. Andrew snaked a hand out from under the sheet and curled his fingers in a demand. Aaron clambered onto the bed and reached for Andrew.
