Arden sat in the back of the Uber with her eyebrows drawn in, the fingers of her right hand pinching on the fabric of her jeans as she stared out the window.
Jared had booked an appointment with a doctor to check up on her arm and she was beyond devastated to find out that it wouldnât come off for another three weeks.
âDo you hate me taking care of you that much?â Jared teased her, earning himself a glare, âwhatâs wrong? Itâs just a few more weeks, baby.â
âI hate feeling like I canât do anything on my own!â Arden reasoned, her voice whinier than she anticipated, âJared, youâve been brushing my hair for me and even my teeth because I canât do it properly, dressing me. It'sââ
âWhat I want to do,â Jared finished off for her, leaning over and kissing her temple, âwe talked about this. I want to take care of you, it makes me happy.â
âYou just say that because you donât want me to feel bad,â Arden stated, âarenât you tired of hearing me call out for you every time I have a minor inconvenience?â
âNo,â Jared answered immediately, âin fact, I love hearing my name on your lips, no matter the circumstance.â
âI feel like a burdenââ
âArden, stop it,â Jared warned her, his voice a tad harsher, instantly shutting her up, âyou arenât a burden. Nowhere near. Get that thought out of your head.â
