Gift directly from the artist at Tuulikki Pietilä's exhibition at Halmstad Art Salon (Antikboden), early 1970s.

More information

Tuulikki Pietilä came to Halmstad as a young woman, among other things to help Finnish war children.

She became good friends with the Johansson family, who ran the Art Salon in Halmstad.

Her exhibitions were held there, and Tove often joined her, sitting and drawing as well as sketching and signing in her books that were sold at the exhibitions.

The drawing for the auction was created then.

I just read Moominland Midwinter by Tove Jansson (again), and it got me inspired to draw some Moomin art! What is your favorite Moomin book? Like I said, Midwinter is my favorite, but I also love Moominpappa at Sea!

HOLIS, today's theme is dreams. To be honest, this illustration was inspired by an episode of the 90s series where Moomin gets sick and in one of the scenes he starts dreaming that he saves Snufkin in one of the clouds on his hat LOL.
