âUnfortunately, none of the Clays Iâve ever met are really fitting of the description,â Sienna replied with a shrug, and continued to listened to his line of increasingly poor - or perhaps wonderful - puns. With a laugh, she conceded, âWell done, you. Is cheeky your superpower?â The question rolled off her tongue without her even thinking of it, and it wasnât until after it hung in the air between the two that she realized what sheâd said. âS-Sorry, you donât have to answer that. Itâs a personal topic.â
Her comment had originally caused a half grin -- a single dimple included -- on his face, but Siennaâs sudden grave expression weakened his expression. Still, he chose to ignore the somewhat heavy atmosphere that had suddenly settled between them with a shrug. âPretty much,â he smiled at her instead, good-humoured while overlooking her apology. âAttempts at lame puns are pretty much all Iâve got going for me right now. --Honestly, I donât really have a reason to be here,â he said nonchalantly -- and he wasnât lying, not really. Leaning slightly closer as if to share a secret, he half-whispered: âIâm only here for the free food and the fancy housing,â before absent-mindedly sending her the swiftest wink. On those words, he took a step back again to get another handful of his cereal. âWhat about you, is coming up with really deep metaphors your superpower?â A small smile could be discerned on his expression while he chewed, one that Sean hoped conveyed that she was free not to answer his question seriously if she desired.Â
