I came across ur page and I just needed to let you know I would love more jimin fics when you have time!!!

Sounds good! Jimin fic just for you love 🤍 Recently his long hair has been on my mind, specifically how he didn't have support for keeping it long (until the fans voiced their opinion, obviously). Yes I know they're technically extensions but in this fic, for the sake of the idea I had in mind, they aren't.

One hand on the sink, the other carefully holding a pair of scissors, Jimin takes in his own reflection. Its been bothering him… what people will think. Not a single supporting voice came from his team- the stylists, the manager… the other boys didn’t pass judgement, but they didn’t show support either. Maybe it did look bad maybe it was too much. Maybe he should just take an inch off. Just to see how it feels.

Cautiously he pulls a longer piece up to the front, feels the strands between his fingertips. He tests the water with a single snip to the frayed, bleached ends. The loose pieces sprinkle into the porcelain below. Conflict wrestles in his chest. He shouldn’t have done that. Theres no going back now.

Every pass of the scissors after that point is just as hesitant as the last. Nothing serious, just tiny pieces here and there leading up to a layered look at the very ends. He isn’t committing to it, just thinning it out.

Until thinning it starts to look worse.

“What am I doing…” he mutters, setting the scissors down to run a hand through the results. “Ah…” he sighs, “what am I doing?”

“— what are you doing?”

He jolts then. When did you appear in the doorway? Jimin glances at you, peeks over his shoulder just barely.

You take a step forward, now able to see the hair in the sink. “Jimin….”

“I know, okay? I know.” He’s tense, defensive. “I just.. thought I would like it more if it was short… er.”

You place a hand on his shoulder. “You mean… you thought everyone else would like it shorter? Its still pretty, honey… look at how much length you still have.”

“I ruined it.” He replies, rigid. “I should just cut it all the way.”

“No- Jimin,” you move past him to take the scissors. “No. No! Listen to yourself.” You insist. “You’re letting things get to you again.”

Jimin avoids your gaze. His shoulders are slumped; he knows you’re reading him like an open book and it stings.

You dont let him wallow in his thoughts.

“Tell you what, will you let me braid it?” You offer, “just to pull it away from your face, so you dont have to think about it?”

He nods, stepping aside as you clean up the bathroom.

The next few minutes are quiet. You manage to sit him down and part his hair the way you want. Jimin has calmed down significantly since you had caught him. His eyes are closed, his expression relaxed as he leans back slightly against you. You begin by just running your fingertips through his hair at first.

“Thank you,”

“For what?” You ask, leaning forward to peek over him and give him a forehead kiss.

“Stopping me,” he elaborates, grateful now more than ever for your touch and reassurance.

“Someone needed to, before all of this fell away.” You gather some of it in your hands, beginning to braid the shorter pieces at the crown of his head. “It makes you look so pretty. You know that?”

“Mmh. I do,” he agrees, flustering slighrly. “I like it long.”

“So do I.” You tie off the first section and move on. “You should let it go until it reaches.. all the way here,”

Your fingertips graze his spine about halfway down his body and he straightens out, not expecting it. His laugh sprinkles through the quiet of your shared home.

“I would have you braid it every single day,” he warns softly. “If it ever got that long. You want me to look like Rapunzel?”

You smile, your mind preoccupied as you move down to the longer pieces along the side by his ears. “If the shoe fits….”

“I know, I know….” He’s turning his head now, trying to catch a glimpse of you.

“Sit still, honey.” You remind him.

“I love you.” He admits, fidgeting in his seat.

“I love you too,” you finish up, leaning once more for a quick peck on the lips. He was too pretty for his own good…
