“Curses” are considered so taboo in some circles or not believed as real by those in other circles, but they really are something we should be talking about and taking seriously as the ones most likely to inflict serious damage onto others are those with unobserved and unrecognized shadow patterns and ego wounds.
You cannot heal the unrecognized traumas or issues of others, nor is it in your power to do so- you can hold space for this healing to occur if the person desires healing, but you are NEVER required to do this, especially if that person refuses to take responsibility for the crossed energy they throw around at others as a “curse”. Curses often are not consciously cast like you may think they are. This means you may have engaged before in sending a curse- simply casting of negative psychic energy at someone due to strong emotions within yourself.
“Know thyself”- this is why shadow work (the owning of your own subconscious patterns, thoughts, drives, etc) is the most important form of empowering witchcraft one could possibly do. Without it, your power and energetics are not yours and your shadow or ego wounds can use your energetics in ways that do not align with your beliefs and values.
After certain recent events I was able see these threads so clearly to finally write and further organize a great start to the “curse” section of my Santa Muerte book I’m writing (along with the generational trauma aka generational “curse” post I wrote in relation to Encanto last month). In the book I’ll dive deeper into specific techniques one can use with Santa Muerte for active or passive curse combat or removal. Perhaps when I’m done with the first several Santa Muerte books I’m writing I can turn all this into a deeper book (VERY deep book) that goes into the energetics of shadow work and shadow integration… Goals… 😎
