Once upon a time I made a little blupee painting that turned into a best-selling print, but it's time to retire this design for a new one. I've learned so much about gouache and drawing backgrounds, so I feel like I can make a much better piece now! The new one is already sketched out and I'm loving it so much!

I'm at Dokomi this weekend! I haven't bothered with a catalogue because I'd have to censor it for social media and it's a nightmare to do. I'm in the 18+ hall (Hall 5) and I'm at stand E39, very close to the horror area!

Time for some more Araiposting.

My lil weird daughter comes from a cult village in the middle of the cursed forest that has a huuuge fae problem but the village has never noticed?? Possibly because the ancient mummy the village worships is the body of a daughter of the Elven God-King, and thus she's holy/magical even in death (and honestly there's ghost stories that grandma moves around so like is she even fully dead??)

It's an ill omen to the lineage if a daughter leaves but Arai was in a tough spot. She got hit by magical Polio when she was little and lost the use of one of her legs, so the village kept either shunning her or treating her as if she was too sickly to function. So... she'd die forgotten by her village if she stayed, so she ended up going to this super dangerous magical university where dying is part of the curriculum in order to learn some magic to zap the nerves in her legs back to functioning.
